| another of the animes (didnt know it was Japanese back then) that marked the memories of my childhood. Though the animation was made in Japan, this is a Spanish-Japanese co-production. This was one of the good book-to-movie conversions. It was aimed mainly for kids but adults could also watch it at that time. It follows the story of the three musketeers from the famous novel. Though I havent read the novel I'd prefer this cartoon over any film conversions (all I've seen were mediocre btw).
Note: a sequel of the series was produced but it hadnt the success of the original. I hardly remember the sequel.
Animation was good for a simple show for kids to watch. Action sequences were simple too with just a few frames.You dont always have to expect CGI and explosions, do you?
Sound: Just saw a clip from the intro and remembered those nostalgic days. I hardly remember anything else from the music.
Character: I remember all the characters pretty well. They have done a very good job in portraying the characters of the novel into animals. THough I havent read the novel I guess this is the best they could do. Cardinal Richelieu and Milady were really what a conspirator should be. In the Japanese version I heard that Aramis was a woman! If I remember correctly this occured also in the dubbed version I saw. So this adds bonus to the characters.
Story: transferring a story from a book into a cartoon isnt always an easy task. But everything is here. the comstumes, the backgrounds remind of the book. I guess some scenes of violence would have to be omitted but generally the story is OK.
Final verdict: The series were good for their time. I've seen some rebroadcasts from time to time and would gladly watch 1-2 episodes just for nostalgia's sake. These cartoons of the 80's were unique and sadly I'm so used to them that the newer cartoons look strange to me.
It is also available on DVD and has much sentimental value. But it lacks the emotions to make it a classic

| Aaw... this anime reminds me of childhood. Just for that, it should get a 10! I loved this series when I was a child!
But...the plot is not even original, it is based on 'The Three Mosqueteers', I reckon. The characters are very cute, but the music and animation, are not the best there is.

| Vor ewigen Zeiten habe ich auch diesen Anime gesehen und wie könnte es auch anders sein war ich damals noch'n Stöpsel. Auch wenn ich zu der Zeit nicht wusste das es ein Anime ist war die Serie nicht übel und für Kinder sehr gut geeignet.

| I remember watching this show when I was a tiny kid.
It was dubbed in my language(Finnish)
So I understood most of the plot.
Always loved that roguish person who D'Artagnan challanged in the beginning at the inn.
I suggest this "anime" for anyone who wants to have nostalgic trip.
