I stated somewhere that this is "pure anime silver." And I've been quizzed as to why I would say that. It only means that so-called "anime fans / otaku" have no clue. They watch and promote eye-candy, and yet have no idea on how to take in shows like these properly. "Morning Mist Shrine" may be 15 minutes of show, but it's a good show to watch.

Shrine of the Morning Mist for me was a wonderful anime, and I was pretty shocked that it got such low ratings.

I'm going to start off with the animation. The animation is very good, and it brought back memories of Azumanga Daioh. So you could easily compare the animation and the humour to that of Azumanga.

The story was the only flaw that I seemed to find. It wasn't really explained thurougly, or at least in the episodes I've seen so far. But nonetheless, I can't wait to see more.

shrine of the morning mist have 26 ep. 1 ep got 12 min. Op song is ok ok, ed song is way too lame on eng words. Anime have a good strong background story to back them up, the thing about gods, heaven, Earth, and place between is solid. But these stuff has been used before and it getting boring even you know the story itself is not that boring. Chars do quite well, no annoying bastard running around. The hero kinda useless... his red is just for show he couldn't get do any useful with eye of his. Beside our hero, there're 5 high school Mikos plus other cute villians that came to the show later make the show more delightful. Sometime they make one ep. just to explain 1 chars like for Tama(Catgirl). They try to random chars and show it out so ep. # doesn't really matter here.

Load of fanservice. Funny. Happy ending.

Asagiri no Miko is an extremely average anime. Every episode exists in mediocrity. And yet somehow, the last few episodes are much more emotional and moving than I would have ever thought possible from the series. That doesn't really make it worth watching if you have better anime on your list, but it is the series' salvation. I liked most of the characters and the animation was good. The music though... Ugh, the music made me want to rip my ears off. Well, specifically the opening and ending. The other music wasn't nearly as... offensive... but it was equally unimpressive and forgettable. Anyway, watch this when you're running out of options.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one to bond with this anime. That's how I'd describe my feelings. There was something about this that strangely caught my imagination. Maybe it was the Japanese folklore, the miko, the tengu mask, the eerie, chanting Tasogare no Miko, the way it used faded pastel colours, reminding me of Japanese watercolour and ink drawings. Maybe it was the Azumanga Daioh element - the fact it was also a tale about a bunch of schoolgirls, bickering, learning to pull together, joking around; or maybe it was the way it gently paradied sentai. "Let's transform!" Cut to the girls' toilets: "Errr, how does this tie up again?" Whatever the reason, I thought there was something so cute, miniature and perfectly formed about 'Asagiri no Miko' that I just ... bonded with it. I now have the capsule figures, the pencilboard and the bookmarks, as well as the OP/ED CD. Because I know it's a show that I, if no-one else, will keep returning to. One of the great mysteries of life - but there you go...

At first it seems too simple. Then after the first few episode the plot develops to an interesting story. The different personalities within the female characters are intriguing, and the battle styles and scenes are much better than Sailor Moon. However, it suffers from lack of care on the part of animation and consistency. The soundtrack isn't that great, the drawings are rough...Maybe it's the syndrome of the 12 min episode style, but something like this, if given more care, would have had a decent chance. Sadly, the lack of care makes it jsut another 'mediocre series'. A pity. I was getting to like it.

It's not a spectacular series, but Asagiri no Miko is highly enjoyable - a simple anime that just grabs you. Served with good portions of romance, action and humor, this series plays off the character quirks of the individual girls, having a very simple plot. Only complaint is that the main male character is not given quite enough attention.

Short episodes - bite sized for easy consumption. This series is particularly good to watch just to fill a little free time.

Kinda like a less humorous Azumanga but with a story. Not anything special, but I'm not disappointed in the 6 or 7 hours this series sponged out of my life. It's pretty enjoyable. The animation was good, and Yuzu looks a little like Osaka. The music's okay (OP's pretty good) and the voices are fine though Yuzu's voice seems to change quite a bit (don't know how else to say this even though it's only one actor). The story focuses a lot on the friendship (which is a good thing). The downside is that it completely neglects the love story (not that that's necessarily a bad thing cuz they're cousins though once again no one notices anything wrong). The story needs a bit more explaination also. I liked how the ending avoided the naked fetal position psychological thing in endless water that every frickin anime does and it avoids the long talk with the bad guy at the end. It's nice to see something different. The characters are mostly well developed and likeable. The main guy is a bit underdeveloped and the bad guys could've used more flashback or explaining time, especially the klutz and how she got into all of this. Overall, an enjoyable one time watch. Don't think it's really worth a second.

Very enjoyable anime, a mixx of action, comedy and romance. I thought the plot was good except for some of the episodes that hiro didnt show up.

One thing i didnt realy like about this anime was the unimportance of the main guy character (Hiro). Yea they make it seem that Hiro is the key to everything and stuff but then if you watched the thing, Hiro didnt really do anything (except the last episode). It would have been better if they made Hiro stronger towards the end, i mean he does have that saniwa blood stuff and the red eye right? Other than that i thought it was great. Really liked the ending too, gave me a feeling of "satisfaction"(been watching too many tragedies so this one really satisfied me)

This is nothing special. There are some good parts and bad parts - it's good vs. evil by numbers. In its defence there are a couple of unexpected twists, but there never seems to be any danger of anything but a happy ending.

Really annoying having to endure/skip the intro/outro music every 10mins as well, could have been better as 13 20min eps.

A pretty good series, for what it is.

Admittedly, the animation is fairly low budget and the monsters are cheesy. But I don't really think that's what Asagiri no Miko is about. Ultimately, it's about the interaction of 5 schoolgirls, and for that, it succeeds. And unlike other failures, this one doesn't try to overreach too much, but just have fun within the limits that it has.

Another good thing is that the episodes are just 10 minutes long, so no it never gets too dull or boring. The plot progression is pretty zippy and moves along nicely, due to the brevity of each episode. And the ending wraps things up nicely as well, and don't leave the viewers hanging, wondering what the hell just happened.

The major complaint I had was that the lead male character was kinda wussy and useless until the last episode. But then again, it's not everyday where the females kick ass and protect wussy males, so it was refreshing in its way.

All in all, above average series that is not in any way great, but still not a bad way to kill a few hours.

A very nice and enjoyable anime ! This series can get very funny and the characters (both good and bad ones) are very loveable. This is the kinda series I would recommend to anyone who wants to watch some entertaining, light, not to serious anime. I enjoyed it alot.

Well this show is ok. Nothing I would go out of my way to download or rent/buy. I was highly disappointed by the lack of character depth and a story worth caring about.

Asagiri No Miko is one of the best animes I've seen. In fact it is my favorite anime or was once my favorite anime. Things change.

It has good music. The story is decent even though it ends shortly. And the charatizeration is good even if the character development is not that great.

A good anime as long as you're not expecting a nepic story about philosophy or a heavy moral lesson.

And if you like girls, mikos, simple fights and character interaction.

A nice little anime series that, while not being exceptional, is quite entertaining to watch.

It features a cast of likeable characters (some of whom can't quite avoid being stereotypical), the probably least frightening villain of all anime and a story with lots of (pleasantly weird) japanese charm.

Don't expect a lot of mystery, most of the "riddles" in regard to who's who are very easily seen through. (Just not by the characters themselves...)

Tadahiro could use a little more screen presence and character development for supposedly being one of the key characters.

It is a good thing that - as another reviewer wrote - this series doesn't try to take itself too seriously. Its lighthearted, easygoing approach and short episode length make it a good choice if you want to watch something refreshing and entertaining.

Kind of hard to review this one. It is so mixed, some things are very good, some are very bad... And some are in between. :P

The monsters/enemies that appear throughout it are rather ugly and could have been pictured better than this. The story could have been better aswell.

But that's not what I look for in Asagiri no Miko. It's the character interaction and the humor of it all. Sometimes it's very funny, sometimes romantic and sometimes action packed. That's what I like about it.

If it would have had a little bit more solid story and the monsters would have been a bit more realistic, in a sense. This one would have been a straight ten anime.

Asagiri no Miko doesn't seem very popular based in its rating, but I liked it--the cast really grows on you, and there's a good mix of action, romance, and character development. The plot centers around Yuzu, the middle of three daughters who are all mikos. Yuzu has had a crush on Hiro since he went away five years before, and when he returns, going to Yuzu's high school, all manner of youkai are out to get him. To fight the youkai, Yuzu ends up recruiting a shrine maiden committee of her plus four "normal" girls who have to go through training, and as a reward get to wear miko outfits instead of school uniforms to school. The youkai aspect reminded me of Inu-Yasha, of course, but there are some episodes without any youkai at all that focus more on the characters.

Overall, it's kind of a nice reversal of the "guy saves girl" stereotype you see in anime, movies, and fiction a lot. Yuzu's sincerity, hard work, and tendency to turn bright red around Hiro make her an appealing character. Each of the mikos has their own quirks, and there's a lot of comedy in the show as a result. The character designs aren't as good as, say, Love Hina's or AMG's, but they're OK. A good show, I hope it makes it over to R1 DVD.

Boy I don't know how this one has been scored so low. It's great show about a group of normal high school girls unexpectedly "deputized" into becoming mikos (Shinto shrine maidens) to help their friend, Yuzu, fight a sudden bout of spiritual evil infecting the school.

However the premise isn't really the key - instead it's more in line with stuff like Azumanga daioh where the character's humor is really what makes it fun (for example the first time they have to fight using the spiritual "tools" of the miko trade, not knowing what else to do, the girls all come up with hilariously absurd "magic-girl" like attacks). Each of the girls has her own interesting personality - my favorite being the short, always-pessimistic "Chika" who I swear is really Guu in disguise!

I don't know - maybe I just a sucker for Mikos and Shinto spirit weirdness, but I really like this series and it really deserves a much better rating than it has here.

Despite each episode being only half the normal size I still found the series enjoyable. It reminded me of Azumanga Daioh but at least this one had some guys to balance out all the females. It was cute and in the end romantic. Nothing out of the ordinary as far as stories, but still kept me entertained throughout the whole 26 episodes :)
