| Now this anime is not good. Not good at all. I watched the first episode thinking, "Hey this seems pretty cool. I wouldn't mind playing a game like that." Then I started the second episode and in the middle of that, my thoughts changed from "pretty cool" to "Renji is so freakin annoying, please let me punch whoever created him!"
Then on to the third episode and my thought went even further to "Oh God, why am I even wasting my time, I should just stop now," but no, like an idiot, I keep going thinking "Well, it might get better."
You want to know if it got better? Well, it didnt. From halfway through the intro song in the second episode the show became a snowball rolling down a mountain of crap and picking it all up to end up at the bottom as a huge world size ball of nothing but crap.
I'm sorry to those that like the show but Dragon Drive just has way too much wrong with it to even be considered.

| I really should have listened to all of the people that gave this a bad review, but instead I listened to the few that loved it. Whoops. There is so much wrong with this series, I can't even fathom what kept me going through to the end.
Let's start with the story itself, which starts out fun and interesting, but after 6 or so episodes progresses into its true self, which is nothing more than the same cliche anime I've seen a million times before. Essentially the first episodes are just a really cool intro to a really bad anime.
Even cliche anime can be good though if the characters are great. While the good guys in Dragon Drive were likable enough, they were also a bunch of idiots who each repeated their own mistakes over and over again throughout the whole series. The bad guys were even worse.
Beyond that, several characters have horrible voices. Even the music was generic and uninspiring. Add to that animation sequences that get repeated over and over again and dragged out combat with little or no story progression and there you have it... Dragon Drive!!

| This show looks somewhat promising in the beginning but it gets worse with every episode and later proves to be a total bore. It's got some of the worst characters I've ever seen and the cliches just keep coming.
Compared to the rest the visuals and sound can be considered the only relatively good points of this show but even they are barely mediocre.
I'd suggest watching something better and saving yourself the annoyment of going through 38 episodes of boredom.

| ok...good animation....but repetitive...only reason it gets that good sound is cause of the opening and closing themes....the story falls apart after ep 16...and juss keeps crumblin...Chibi is sooooo cute and some of the dragons had thought put into em givin it an 8 in characters....story meant for five year olds; im embarresed when seen watching this series...its dragon ball z..with more dragons...and alot less episodes...im on ep 25, and im hesitating to go any further...i loved this series for first 10 episodes...then juss liked it for next 6....after that im juss tolerating it...if ur 10 or under, then check this out...if older, then juss forget it...

| It seems alot of work was put into the creation of this anime. very good animation, although there were far too many re-used scenes for this to get a 10.
Unfortunatly, the stroyline is fairly poor and is full of inconsistencies. There are things we are just meant to accept (even tho they contradict things happening earlier)Also somewhat dissapoing was the general plot in each episode.. to call it repetitive would not be an exaggeration.
overall I enjoyed the first 10 episodes, then after that, it started getting repetitive. Needless to say, I was quite relieved to finish watching this series.

| This series is really excellent until about ep 16, after which it proceeds to completely fall apart and turn into a wandering, disorganized, bad copy of DBZ, but with actual dragons this time. All interesting emotional development and interaction between characters pretty much stops after ep 16, and the dialogue becomes shallow and trite. I honestly think that this was supposed to be a 26 ep series, but that because the first 10 or so eps were so good, people just jumped all over it and they decided to extend the series halfway through and add on an extra 12 eps (without rewriting any of the story). Thus enter the artificially extended eps, super typical shallow dialogue and interaction between characters, and long drawn out, cheesy battle scenes that don't do anything to further the plot. Either that, or the author or producer had a brain seizure and turned into a carrot and his creatively challenged staff had to finish the series...
Also, anybody who thinks we enjoy watching the same 8 second sequence over and over and over and over and over and over and over... again when the characters introduce their main "attack sequences" or pull out their big gun, is a freakin retard. WE DON'T ENJOY IT IF WE'RE OLDER THEN 5 YEARS OLD, IT'S ANNOYING SO STOP IT ALREADY BAKAS!!!
Oh, and I really really liked the ending song on this one. Wow. It almost made the pain stop after watching the later eps... The intro song is not too shabby either, though it's just an "anime" song.

| This one had me up and down on the "how good is this" scale. It started out kinda cliche and changed into something less cliche, then transformed into something almost lacking that term completely. It's definitely something you would have to finish to figure out if it's any good. As for me, I can't say either way. However, I can say that given all its elements, it turned out to be a very average series.

| Beim ersten Anblick von Dragon Drive glaubte ich die nächste Staffel von Digimon vor mir zu haben...Na ja so schlimm war es am Ende dann doch nicht, aber daran das Dragon Drive alles in allem eine nur leicht durchschnittliche Serie ist ändert das trotzdem nichts. Angefangen bei der Story die in keinster Weise originell ist oder irgendetwas neues darbietet, auch hier beginnt alles mit einem Spiel in dem mit Monstern bzw Drachen gekämpft wird (hat da jemand POKEMON gesagt...?) und ehe man sich versieht befinden sich unsere "Helden" in einer Parallelwelt wieder die in einer schweren Krise steckt und nur von dem "Auserwählten" gerettet werden kann. Der Verlauf präsentiert sich im allerbesten "Klischeegewand" und ist von Anfang bis Ende durchschaubar und man kann sich leicht denken was als nächstes passiert, überraschungen treten somit selten bis gar nicht auf. Ich muss sagen das die erste Hälfte der Serie aber noch halbwegs erträglich war doch dann wird es lächerlich und die restlichen Eps beschränken sich eigentlich nur noch darauf das unsere Heldentruppe ein ums andere mal von den bösen Jungs attackiert wird, diese sich nach kurzem Gefecht wieder zurückziehen um dann wenige Eps später wieder auftauchen um Reji und Co erneut herauszufordern. Bis zum Showdown wird Dragon Drive immer ermüdender und man wünscht sich das alles endlich mal ein Ende findet. Fans von Monsterbattleserien a la PKMN und DGMN werden hier sicher ihre helle Freude haben und wenn ich einige Jährchen jünger wäre hätte mich Dragon Drive sicher auch noch aus den Socken gehauen. Mittlerweile reichts jedoch nur noch zu einem müden Lächeln.

| I've enjoyed Dragon Drive. It starts like an Angelic Layer clone and evolves into an action/fantasy series and it's really not as repetative as others say.

| I didn't like this anime very much, mostly because i couldn't shake the feeling from my head that the team from Pokemon and the team from Shaman King got drunk together one night and thought this up. But... dammit i couldn't stop watching it anyway. well, not till episode 28, then i lost interest, finally. All in all, it's not too bad. If you like pokemon, digimon, monster rancher et al, etc, ad naseum... and/or if you like shaman king, hunter X hunter etc etc etc... give this anime a try. you'll probably like it. seriously.

| When i started watching dragon drive, i first thought : great, another one of this mass producted anime with games in, especially when i saw reiji win his battle with what it seems to be pure luck/mysterious power.
Anyway the art has nothing special about it, dragons looked silly and not like dragons anyway (except for a very few) and were badly animated (static wings and slooooow moves). I didn't notice anything special about sound either.
I then caught back with it when they head to another world, waiting for a interesting turn of event. Well, it just turned from the 'win the game' to 'save the world from the evil that has no reason to destroy the world, but still will do it because it is evil' type that's already far too represented.
The basic action anime plot started then with the apparently unbeatable ennemy, the basic quest for power, the characters developments, meeting of allies, all those things we've seen in SO many anime and love (yeah right...) so much. The ending just followed it and wasn't too great, but it was a fine end for it.
It's a good anime for children or people who are new to anime and aren't bored to always see the same things over and over.

| Characters going into another world to save it. yes yes, we've seen it whatever, but there are still some interesting factors to be made about Dragon Drive. My first impression was that it would be a series mainly focusing on the younger population of watchers but it didn't seem so as the story continued because unlike series that focus on the youth which does not have much character development and a build up of plot but Dragon Drive did have those in some limited way so one could give it credit for that.
Everything leading to the ending didn't bother me that much other then the fact that it was slow and not very moving. It was the ending that killed the series. I know many series has bad endings with unresolved issue, but DD's ending sucked. The studio should have made any alternate just in case some disapproved like myself.

| I really wonder what part of this anime
someone could like.
I suffered but watched the whole series.
I really liked the very first episodes,
but after the protagonists entered the
other world everything became so stupid.
I got so bored of the endless (and senseless) fighting. There really is no
development of the characters.
They remain dumbasses throughout the entire series.
I really could stomp on chibis head and squeeze his brain.
I don't know what kept me watching this
waste of time, maybe hope.
Everyone who says Dragon Drive has
a good animation has obviously never seen anything else than crap.
The colours are awful. The movement
of the characters and computer animated
dragons are horrible.
Sound? Yes there is sound. But all
I can remember is the catchy beginning
which is really annoying after 20 eps and the melancholic (?) ending that I
didn't want to hear after the 4th ep.
I really want to warn you:
This anime has been produced for
brainless zombies and brainless zombie wannabes and americans ;) !
So don't watch it or waste your money
when it is out in stores.
Keep on complaining !!!

| There seems to be a trend of those "combact" type animes around these days, and I would have to say this is one of the better ones out there. It has a bit of a Digimon meets Angelic Layers feel to it. And it works! I guess being such a huge dragon fan myself might have made this rating as high as it is. But this title is not with out its shortfalls. Anything after eps 26 is just filler and isn't really worth watching or downloading. But needless to say this is a good seris, its fast action, the characters are fun to watch and just seeing the cool looking dragons is worth the watch by itself!

| Underrated anime that had has a good plot if you get past the early episodes. The characters are also entertaining which made me watch this anime until its completion. The middle episodes are filler eps that are weaker and a tid rushed but once u get near the the finale theres a good ending to this series. The soundtrack throughtout the series is a noteworthy mention especially its OP song.
There a moral in this series of hope and friendship and if your after a typical adventure of good versus bad, Dragon Drive is a worthy choice.

| From what I've seen so far, this looks to be a very good series! The concept behind this series may seem old and used but this series uses it pretty well! The characters are pretty enjoyable for the most part("My Sweet Honey!" haha). The story is still strong and hasn't gotten dull. The animation might not be as good as some series that I've seen (Read or Die, Cowboy Bebop, Wolf's Rain...) but it's still pretty good. :) I recommend that you try this one out!!

| I really hate stuff like this. When I first heard of Dragon Drive I thought here was an anime I could safely ignore as just another pokemon-esque card game commercial. So, I went on to greener fansub pastures. Then I actually managed to watch a few episodes, and to my own shock really like it quite a bit. Of course, I then had to scramble to find all those episodes I let foolishly slip by. ^_^
Sure it may sell itself using the lame anime cliche of dueling monsters, but give this one a chance - for me, it wound up being a really pleasant surprise (and proof in how dangerous anime assumptions can be)!

| This is what Pokemon should've been. The story is fast, takes several unexpected turns, and is fit for all ages. There isn't a great, deep plot and the situations aren't very adult, but it's a fun watch and I usually watch an episode while eating or looking for a quick romp through this magical land. ^_^

| Take Digimon, add in some Pokemon elements (Pikachu, gym leaders, a makeshift 'tournament') and some slapstick humour and you have Dragon Drive. Only Pokemon was better than this pile of batshit.
Too kiddy-ish to be an action anime and too stupid to be funny, grotesque ideas like Dragon Drive could only be dreamt up by corporate bastards who just want to Americanize kiddy anime and make a game about it to sell to unsuspecting kids.
Admittedly, Eps 1-4 were as good as a kiddy anime can be, but afterwards it just drags on endlessly until you get the feeling that you'd rather stab your genitals with a rusted knife than to endure the kind of mental pain from watching any more Dragon Drive.
However, if you're 5 years old and have never seen any anime in your whole life and can't watch Pokemon due to religious reasons, then Dragon Drive may be for you... may be.

| The animation is decent I suppose, and there are some really cool looking scenes scattered throughout the episodes. Nothing too special though. The characters kind of lack. The plot has a few interesting aspects, but I'd say it's seriously lacking and they seem to like to ruin it by making what could enhance it, very corny.
For example, one thing I find particularly annoying (lame?) is how easily Reiji and Chibisuke seem to be able to rise to beat any challenge. Without having to do much, they will have risen to what are apparently remarkable levels of ability, power, what have you, and with an equally unrealistic output of effort (or time!) they have overcome what was supposed to be "impossible".
It is enjoyable, though, so long as you aren't looking to be deeply absorbed or challenged in figuring anything out. The dragons are interesting to see, even if they could have been a lot more interesting. I watch it, I just don't SCRAMBLE to get the latest episode when it's released. :)
