I was always interested to read the manga version of Sailor Moon. It would save me some time than being forced to watch all the filler episodes of the anime season by season (a not so pleasant experience).

I've seen only anime season 1, R and Stars. though from the first two I dont remember much.

If I was going to rate each season independently it would be

Sailor Moon (v 1-4): 6,7
Sailor R (v 4-7): 6,2
Sailor S:(v7-11):7
Sailor Super S (v 12-15): 6,8
Sailor Stars (v16-18):7

Meh. Mediocre. The design is VERY confusing and the story isn't really fantastic either.

Not too bad though... still kept me reading.

i fell in love with this piece from the first moment i read it...
i guess i'm just sentimental but all the girls wanna believe that the world revolves araound us so this manga actually potrays all girls fantasy..
the characters r all beautiful..for insensitive eyes they might look the same but i c them s all unique..
story line makes u feel like u wanna be in the story urself so what more do you need ;-)

I really loved this manga because of the artwork. Naoko really put a lot of hard work in her art that it is relly beutiful when compared to other mangas. I realy repect her for that. I've seen the DIC anime of Sailor Moon, and I think the whole perspective of Naoko's origial Sailor Moon. I havn't read the manga yet, but looking t all beatiful manga pictures online, I truely think Sailor Moon (the manga) is a masterpiece that should be viewed by many.

To tell the truth, I watched all five seasons of Sailor Moon before I started to read the manga and while I read the first manga; I was totally taken. It is very hard to describe the feeling when you can see such detailed design and deep story whitch you'd never thought to see in the anime series.

I loved the first season in the manga, but the others weren't anything special compared to the first one.

Without comparing it to the anime, the artwork is original and very beautiful. The story ranges from really good to OK but it's never bad.

I don't like Naoko Takeuchi's artwork, it's so... thin?? O.o I have read few Sailor Moon-mangas and it's better than the anime, more better. But I don't just like... How they can fight in those clothes?

i love the characters, the manga goes into so much detail everytime they introduce a new sailor senshi [sp?], but some episodes... they get boring... i didnt like the black moon circuse and everything... the end felt like it was rushed... was it just me? the ending, very cute. =P

Bettwr written than the anime (unless you're going by Tokyopop's English version of the manga...bleh), and filled with lots of cool Senshi not in the anime. But poor art...and the fact that aside from Usagi, Mamoru, and Haruka & Michiru, none of the other major characters ever find true love...makes me angry. A good introduction to manga for little girls, but they're the only people I can see really liking this.

The First thing i like about Sailor Moon is the design of character's, the second is a story. The story even complicated but is good too watch.

The original manga version of Sailor Moon is shorter and darker than its anime equivalent. Whilst I do miss the comedy elements of the anime, Takeuchi Naoko's art more than makes up for it. There's no filler here, and the story moves at an impressive pace. The 'S' story arc (volumes 7 to 10) is one of the most impressive things I've ever read, and the subsequent 'Super S' was far, far superior to its anime counterpart (Toei unwisley decided to stray from the manga story and created the least popular Sailor Moon arc to date). It's a shame that Mixx/Tokyopop felt compelled to use some of the dub character names, although they seem to shy away from this process as the series goes on. A nice little bonus with many of the volumes comes in the form of strange little essays from the author, describing her work on the series and her reaction to the sudden ubiquitousness of Sailor Moon merchandise. With a total of 18 volumes, there's a lot of it, but it's stood the test of time as one of the truly great mangas.
