| Let's concentrate on the good sides: Refrain Blue has nakid chicks. Let's concentrate on the bad sides: Everything else Refrain Blue presents sucks.
The story is rather... boring and irrelevant come first into mind. They put this cool oniisama together with a gazillion hot girls with various problems. Let the characters interact with predictable patterns. I wish Refrain Blue would have done even something that wasn't painfully obvious. Looking the main pair getting to know each other, developing awkward feelings, getting some disturbances from other characters or having emotional fits of colossal scale was rather tedious. It could have been interesting if the characters weren't so incredibly dull. Doing some google stuff shows that this anime was originally a hentai game. Dullness explained: they were meant to be sex machines, not characters. All in all this must be one of the most uninspiring stories of two people caught with the past meeting and helping each other move on. Not a small feat.
Animation isn't near any standard and the character designs are plain. If the girls had looked a bit better, I might have kept my eyes open for the whole time. Music is some irrelevant moody stuff that let's you fall asleep easily. From the start to the sappy ending Refrain Blue is a waste of time. Oh well, there are the nakid chicks. Let's put that enjoyment score at sex, I mean six.

| Fairly good romance anime, this is NOT HENTAI, although there are nude scenes, this is a romance anime.
There’s nothing too special about this anime, an anime about 2 with a dead loved ones coming together. With only 3 episodes to work with, there isn’t much room to construct a meaningful romance, albeit, the romance created wasn’t strong enough.
The first 2 episodes were a bit boring to be honest, there were a lot of characters to get to know and it was a bit confusing. Towards the end of episode 2 and the whole of episode 2, things started to come together. It wasn’t a shocker ending or anything, this anime was subtle.
The animation was quite poor for 2000 to be honest, but by no means rubbish, the sceneries were the best.
I wouldn’t recommend watching this as it’s not good enough and I wouldn’t place it at the top of my list either. Still, worth a mention.

| This OVA is the vital point in my theory that Japan is actually trying to kill me...
God, where do I even begin? I guess it's in order to mention the hideously boring, trite, overdone story. Some guy who apparently is a tour guide falls in love with one of the tourists but then there's a mysterious girl at the beach and people died in the past so whatever. Of course it's at the beach because that's the best setting for lame bikini fanservice and random bathing scenes. Then we have our hyper-archetypal cast of characters, including the most boring main character in the anime universe...not that I was expecting much from a main character in a hentai game. Just about everyone else is dull as freaking dirt; they're not even interesting to look at, given the ugly and washed-out animation, and they're certainly not interesting to listen to between the combination of ridiculously bad dialogue and pathetic voice acting. The music is diluted and weak and the backgrounds are hideously spartan in design.
Everything is just so irreverently, depressingly bad. You may as well just look at a picture of boobs for an hour for all this is worth. My advice to Pink Pineapple: stick to hentai, because this sort of crap just doesn't cut it.

1: Get a girl/boy friend *Require*
2: Have a good time with her/him.
3: Got dump by her/him (You can be the one that dump her/him too but it would feel bad for yourself)
4: Try to remember the person when you done watching ep.1
5: Imagine in your mind what would happen if him/her doesn't dump you
6: Go cry with yourself after you done watching this series.

| Lovely, simply lovely. I'll even go as far as saying that Refrain Blue is probably my favorite OVA series.
