| Kogepan is a nice and short 10 4 minute episode long anime, aimed at the younger viewers.
The graphics and animation are simple, and do their jobs. However, the colour, backgrounds and various other graphical aspects could be improved.
The sounds and music, like the animation, are simple. Some of the voice overs are good, but nothing impressive nonetheless.
Kogepan has a storyline that addresses the values in life. One must not dwell too much on one misfortune in life seems to be the main message that Kogepan tries to bring across to its young viewers in a very simple and clear way, using a series of metaphors. Not a new idea by any means, but Kogepan does it very nicely.
The development of the various bread are explained quite well in this short anime. Quite a number of bread are introduced during the short runtime of this anime, most of which are pretty entertaining. Despite that most bread are only shown in one episode throughout the anime, Kogepan definitely does not disappoint when it comes to bread.
Kogepan is definitely an anime for the much younger viewers. It is narrated and sometimes subtitled, providing plenty of aid at making sure the viewer understands what is going on.
I am definitely too old for Kogepan, but watching an anime like this was still quite fun. Younger viewers will probably enjoy it far more than me.

| Wahh, what an extremely cute anime! The clean/pretty bread are just so cute! Kogepan itself is also a pretty admirable character considering his position. Essentially, this anime is about the life of an overburn bread and how it deals with not being bought - which he says is what the bread's ultimate goal in life is. He begins with his situation by not accepting it, then Kogepan belittles the other bread saying they'll be eaten... but in the end after seeing so many bread come and go and along with its other overburnt friends, it finally realizes what they all have in common and what its happiness in life really is - even though it may not be much.
For a 10 x 4 minute length series, I truly felt like I've watched something marvelous. It has simple and clean animation, cute bread animations and voices, interesting and novel situations and most of all it was fun to watch. I recommend watching this for those who just want to watch something pretty sweet and a little bit sad.

| A very short four minute episodic adventure about a burnt bread that dawdles around and about for not being sold, and gets jealous from the younger and more freshen baked bread that are being chosen instead. The animation was probably made this way for the idea that it is also simple as well. The seiyuu on the characters were very amusingly odd to the tale that it was given, and had someone who was the narrative that added some comical value as well. The story was a bit bland, but manages to give a certain meaning; that all appearances are not what they are proclaimed to be. Kogepan may be depressed, resentful, and kept to himself within most of the time; but on the other side of his own qualities, he is the good "bread" that does his own deeds of making others and himself truly happy, as well as giving them a reason to be more observant in their own goals of life, that is known for him as on being so different from those who haven‘t taken him as one of the “prettier” breads. Simple and straightforward message that tends to tell about the outer differences doesn’t account for the Kogepan’s well-being and that other pan-type of characters are being caring from the times he has been trying to make himself better. There are also other burnt breads that are fairly amusing to the story, but are just as similar to Kogepan’s traits as well. They usually drink milk, that supposedly to be similar as alcohol, making them drunk and their face red; while trying to forget their worries of escaping their misfortunes. Another story was about the Ichigo-pan, that is later told in the later segment, who not only was taught from Kogepan, but he also learns from her own feelings that all their essence are made to be so different, yet they are the same in a way having a purpose of being taken to the people’s liking when they are given to the idea that seems to make herself so relating of what Kogepan was going through. As for the ending, it may be a little abrupt; but does give one for the way it manages to conclude itself. Not as innovative, or anything mind-engaging; although, a quick and justly witty kind of story that passes itself as being one of those decent type of “shows”, which it is done for that matter.

| ok to moast ppl this is just a wierd boring series, since I've seen it atleast three times by now I should know that it's not. It's ten short stories about teh complications a burn bread can experience sonce he is forced to live out side the system and not beeing loved. It take the questions of discriminations and differences to a very besic level (as it's made for smal kids). It has some very great moments and alot of wierd joke only a wierdo could love (me).
all in all this is a great thing to rewatch late at night or see for teh forst time in a lit room when thinking about the errors in the world

| It's difficult to rate such a simplistic anime like Kogepan. Animation/sound quality and such don't really matter here.
I really loved it, anyway. :) It's a cute little story about being different. Though the so-called characters weren't anything deep at all(what would you expect anyway), they were fun enough to make me laugh.

| It's hard to review series like this. Visuals and sound are completely irrelevant. As minimalistic as Kogepan may seem, it gives an interesting view to life.

| If not anything else, this anime is clever. Parallels between the bread world and the human world are amusing. I don't think it was meant "to answer all questions in life", but despite it's exterior, i don't think it's an anime for kids. It's jokes about depression and getting drunk on "milk" is something an adult will find amusing.

| Kogepan is the real modern hero. Each day he struggles against feelings of angst, inadequecy, depression, yet he always looks forward beyond his cruel and unfair fate. Indeed, kogepan represents triumph over prejudice and diversity! Kogepan is one of the most important animes to date for it's redeeming spiritual and social qualities. Kogepan, the bread, has inspired me to be fearless in the face of opposition. Each time it seems as if the whole world is one his shoulders, and he bears it the best he can, never to fail. Live, Kogepan... live!
