If you are looking for a great storyline, don't watch this.
If you are looking for cutting edge animation, don't watch this.
If you don't like slapstick style humor, don't watch this.

However, if you like oddball humor and a series that does not take itself seriously. This is exactly the anime you should look for. It continues the tradition from the first season with the oddly self-referential humor and obvious plot setups, but does so with a warmth and humor rare in any series. The story might seem disjointed, and the animation dated, but the characters and humor rescue the series.

Compared to the presentation of TWHE's first season, this season is a lame attempt at stretching out a concept that's gotten old. I didn't laugh anywhere as much as I did with the first season. The same jokes were being used, but with slight twists.

Basically, and predictably, Junpei's big mouth causes Celcia to misfire the same spell again, but this time the fragments are split onto thousands of elves, not five. Already there's a flaw with this: if you only have twelve episodes to find 1000+ fragments, it can only mean one thing. An unconcluded series. That's right, there's no real ending to this series. Sure, there's a big battle near the end, but the conclusion leaves you wondering what kind of crack the directors were on while making this.

If you want to enjoy Those Who Hunt Elves, just watch the first season. You won't miss much with this one.

While better than the first installment, Those Who Hunt Elves II is still lacking in many respects and once again had no resolution. I guess I just watched both of these series for no reason, as it doesn't seem there is another sequel and we don't find out what happens. Also, there is virtually no continuation from the first series; if you are expecting more insight into the "merging of the worlds" then don't look at this series: it almost completely glosses over this.

This sequel is much funnier than the first one; I enjoyed the "wolf" episode, which was probably the only episode I watched the whole way through without getting bored.

The only real difference between the sequel and the original in terms of story is that Celcia is trapped as a different type of animal. Other than that, the entire story is pretty much the same. However, in the sequel there is a bit more originality in each of the episodes (doesn't follow the cookie-cutter plotline of "strong woman elf in city that must be beaten to force clothes off" every episode). Thats not to say that any of the episodes have much depth or complexity; each episode is a stand-alone adventure and not much except Celcia's appearence will change from episode to episode.

Don't expect any of the background information you didn't get in the first series about the setting, story, or the characters either. The only background you get is concerning the character's belief in Santa Claus when they were kids. Hardly a life-changing event that leads to much insight into their characters.

The characters are a bit more interesting in this series than the first one(which isn't saying too much); Airi uses a lot more manipulation in this series, and is featured in a more prominent role than Junpei, who was the star of the original version. Ritsuko continues to be a semi-side character compared to the other two, though she does have a token episode to herself (that isn't very good). However, if you are looking for character depth or development, don't look at this series; you won't find any here.

Both the animation and soundtrack were once again fairly sub-par; the soundtrack was forgettable and the animation was very uninspired. The only spot of light was the voice actors, who did a decent job.

While I enjoyed this series more than the original, I still would not reccomend this to anyone but fans of the original. Truly a forgettable series and not worth watching due to the lack of a conclusion or resolution.

I'm surprised to say I actually found this to be rather entertaining, and not entirely in the "I'm laughing at this cuz it's so crap" way either. I'm not sure why. It doesn't seem that different from the first series. Perhaps it's just funnier, or perhaps it's a further sign that I'm getting used to the anime comedy now, maybe it's a mixture of both.

Whatever the reason is, it's safe to say that I found this considerably more funny than the first series, in particular the dialogs between the Celcia and Junpei where they hurl abuse at each other.

The stories seem better too. They seem more imaginative and interesting. It might be my imagination, but there seem to be less seriousness to this series than the first one. The first one always fell flat on its face when attempting to be serious, like the that karate curse. Although the stories are better, it does inherit the illogical flaws from the first series such as the puzzling unsubtle way that Junpei continues to strips elves and the lack of intervention on the part of the others to stop him. There also seem to be a certain lack of urgency that contradicts the development of the story towards the end of the first series. The ending is also poor. In fact it's so meaningless that i can't actually remember what happens in the end, despite only watched it a week or two ago.

Other changes include the "theming" of all the title, and the addition of the new Those Who Hunt Elves II mascot, which i thought was a good move - the teddy bear is just adorable. They've also added a bizaar but strangely funny line at the end of each preview, but it only really works when Junpei says it.

Bad move. Had they ended the first series properly, they wouldn't have to create this sorry excuse of a sequel.

The animation remains mostly the same, standard mid 90s animation at best.

The new theme songs were rather disappointing, so the sound department wasn't that impressive. The bgm were forgettable.

There's no originality in this series at all. They merely repeated what they did in the first series, only the story is more random than ever. Most of the jokes aren't funny anymore. They recycled a lot of jokes and humor.

Only the funny bickering between Jupei and Celcia saved this show as being watchable, since this is a very medicore if not below average show. They really forced a sequel on a series that should have concluded long ago.

I enjoyed part 2 far more than part one of this series, I think it's because they expanded on the character personalities more - Airi was far more entertaining and actually seemed to play a decent role this time.
I would have rated it a little higher if the ending had been more conclusive, but overall my enjoyment of TWHE II was almost double that of TWHE.

Well Those Who Hunt Elves II is certainly more random then the first installment. In some ways I liked this better, however in some ways the second season fell short. For example I like the music more in two, on the other hand the story was a bit too random for my taste. Despite some inconsistancies I still enjoyed watching this. If you want to know more read on.

This was such a positive surprise! AFter watching the first season, i wasn't expecting much. But after watching first few episodes, i realised this was on a whole new level!

Visuals are great, animation is smooth and fluid, special fx are top-class given show's age and length, beautiful elf girls and overall feel of quality.

Voice got a major overhaul.. gone are those annoying and repetative dialog and screams. Music is also very approperiate.

Main story is not very original, however, on a per-episode level, it's completely authentic :D A whole episode dedicated to toilet papir, another one to parody of "wolf and little red riding hood" Brilliant comedy at it's best :P

This show is so entertaining that i watched it in 4 sittings. Some episodes don't feel dull and slow like in first show, this is essentially improved over original in EVERY way.

One of the best comedy animes i've seen so far..

Value takes a hit because ending leaves a lot to be desired.. maybe season 3 will follow? I hope so!

Ok, season 1 was not bad but I expect this one to be a good one which is not.

Not that just that the ending is real suck. They didn't improve on how the two world merge together or atleast they didnt' mention about it. Maybe it just me that I looks around the background, mountain, screenary trying to find some common to the moden world and wait for their surpise to come up but they never did. Actually they never mention anything about 2 world merging/explode or time is running out to save the both world. It's a real let down, you watch all the 12 ep. waiting something to happen, but at the end... you just dropped your jaw and say "WHAT THE HECK"

Well, I'll just copy my review from the first season since they are identical, just a tad nicer animation :) Too bad there's not more of this series :(

This is hardcore comedy at it's best! It is without the usual T&A humour (well, save the stripping of elvews) but makes just as good without it, in fact, it proves that t&a is not an essential ingrident in anime humour :) I loved every episode of it and it made me laugh out loud even though I was alone (unsual). Gotta love the initiative to reflect upon what we all think about; How the hell do they wipe their ass without toilet paper in fantasy series? They even dedicate a whole episode to it :O)

Get this, it as good as comady gets :)

I really liked the this Anime it is so damned funny.
But my view changed during the last ep. Such a lame ending that could almost rival the Bad Ending of Mahoromatic II.
The ending is such a let down. An Open Ending and it sucks.
I wanted to see everyone return to Japan.
but that was to much to hope for.
So what is gonna happen now is it just ended or is there more to come?

What gives? The animation and sound seem to be cheap, nothing fancy. The story's premise is funny, but really.. how many episodes will it take before you get tired of the idea of stripping the clothes off of angry women? Whats with all these anime having a cat sounding character thats not a cat in them? Love hina had a turtle, tenchi, a rabbit, this one.. a giant metal tank.. That has to be the dumbest thing ive seen yet.. Anyways, I didnt watch the first season but was it really good enough to make this 2nd season? Didnt have anything to make me want to watch more then a few episodes that had a few laughs.

Because I'm known for spouting out many unpredictable truths, here's one for you: This is the second installment of Those Who Hunt Elves!
Series I rate high because of its unique settings for comedy. Has so much potential, and it doesn't even waste it all. It begins where the first one left off. And also where the first season started. Mm, sounds quite repetitive, even boring, don't you think? But it sure isn't. At least if you've kept a fairly long break since finishing the first season (don't know if it matters but that's what I did, anyway).

Those Who Hunt Elves II turned out to be even better than the first season. I mean, there's still this all-time hilarious atmosphere because of the ridiculous reasons why these 3 (or 4) 'heroes' wander around the fantasy-world, stripping women. But what really makes the difference is the increased amount of humor. This show parodizes many of the common fairy tales one ought to recall from one's childhood. Though they've decreased the amount of so-called plot or emotional episodes from the first season, there are still some bad episodes. But mostly it just keeps hitting through your guard. I found myself laughing way more often then I had anticipated when I decided to watch this series.

Animation and all that technical stuff are in good shape. Same characters from the first season. Strong personalities, no development. And so.

Don't expect anything more than comedy from this one. Just plain entertaining. Or is my brain rotting?

Same plot as the first season, and if you watched the first season then you'll know why.. this time, you get to know the characters a little better but not by much, and this time the plot is kinda hurried along imo, nothing spectacular but still fun too watch. has some humorous situations also~

Poor Celcia...i think we can count the number of episodes you see her as an Elf on one hand ;)

Second season\installment of those who hunt evles. Season 1 comments are the same for this.

--

Another really good anime. Elves is pretty basic in its design but at the same time dosent try to be anything other then a fantasy/comedy that is slapstick in nature.

Driving around the country side on a tank, stripping down elven girls looking for pieces to a spell to send them back to japan, and all the adventures in between. TWHE is sure to please any comedy\fantasy fan.

Just a dozen added episodes. Qualities and flaws are the same and the story isn't any better, but the old recipe of weirdest humor can be tasted again. This sequel is neither better nor worse or really neccessary. Still fun to watch.

Funny! Stupid! Pointless! The story’s crap and full of holes. But that’s okay. It’s just like Excel Saga in the fact that this anime lives off humor. It’s definitely worth a watch.

Just like everyone says. It's like the first season, just with more fragments. Which in the beginning was okay, but since the last season only had five fragments and had like 6 episodes of filler, this one has less filler, but more stupid ideas. Also the animation production just went down as the episodes went on. If you enjoyed Those who Hunt Elves A LOT, then watch this one. If it was okay and you don't want to watch the same things over again, I wouldn't watch it if I was you.
