The anime Kiddy Grade is a decent anime. I don't have internet right now. (I'm doing this review at my cousin's houses) So my cousin gave me some animes to watch for my time off. And Kiddy Grade was one of them. It was decent, but not worth a watch. Basically this anime is poor, but it covers that up with flashy animations. It's like a boring anime covered up with shiny pretty wrapping paper.

Really flashy and outer space like. The animations were the only reason this anime has a good score, but you can't judge an anime just for the animations. The fight scenes were pretty good and the future setting made the anime shine at where it needed to be. Overall animations is a plus and the only thing this anime excels at.

OP and ED are just bleh. The OP, I couldn't tell if a guy or girl sang it. Maybe that's why I watched the OP song so many times. I'm taking my chances and thinking a guy sings it, but I'm not sure. Background music was ok, nothing horrible and nothing amazing there either. Voice acting was fine and the seiyuus did a decent job of putting the characters into life.

Story was dry and left with a bunch of random stuff. The beginning are full of fillers and that starts the anime really slow and boring. I can't even remember how the beginning episodes went. Then when you get into the story you'll go. What was the episode I just watched about? The storyline is pretty cliche and boring when you get halfway throught it. It never really gets interesting and can be dragging at some times. Also the anime's storyline is sort of confusing. Like Eclair's super powers and a whole bunch of other things. The story is slow and boring and not memorable at all.

Character were meh. There were no good characters in this anime. Eclair was meh, she seemed boring to me and kind of annoying and quick tempered. And we have her saying of "TADA." At least she was interesting to see. Lumiere was a little worse with her saying "girls should be more elegant." She was kind of boring and dull. She felt like a side character and we don't find that much about her in this story and if they did then this anime made her background plot really boring. All of the other characters were boring and lacked great personality. There were a few good minor characters that were good, but like 80% of them were dull.

Is there going to be a Kiddy Grade 2? Because if there is, I'm not going to watch it. Unless my internet dies and my cousin watches it. Kiddy Grade would have been a great anime. If they fixed the storyline and put better side characters, but they didn't. So I don't know if you should watch this or not. Watch it if you love mecha animes or super power girls with super powers.

Kiddy Grade - an anime with such a kiddy and repulsive name that I had a hard time taking it seriously. Seriously. And don't take it seriously, because the plot flies all over the place, it's choke full of fanservice, and the ending episode really forces you to rethink what the hell just happened.

CODE GEASS =! Kiddy Grade! I haven't seen a lot of "social class versus" type anime, but this one's focus wasn't on it in particular. Actually, this anime can't really focus on anything.

I had a fun time watching it. And waiting for it to end. And then deleting it. I don't recommend this to anyone as it is a waste of time.

Actually, the only reason you'd want to watch this is if you want to watch the upcoming Kiddy Grade 2 (Aya Hirano (Suzumiya Haruhi) let that slip somewhere...) and you haven't watched this yet.

kiddy grade is one of those anime that could have done much better. it has the background for a great and deep story but still never over that superficial point. the main characters eclair and lumiere work for an organization named gott. they fulfill their boring missions till epsiode 9 and then suddenly when i was used to a brainless anime they tried to put a story in it. i was so surprised that i stopped. after that it really gets unrealistic. though they are not the strongest in their organization they kick butt and take over gott. enough for the story. i dont want to tell the end.

overall this really disappointed me and i had to fight very hard not to stop waching after 5 eps. sometimes the story is forced forward too much. it all is done dearless without a thought. i always hoped that eclair and lumiere die. and thats the worst to say about an anime. the intriguing story in the end seems ridicilous and i never took it serious.

like i said kiddy grade has potential and does not use it to its fullest :-)

Starts off slow, then throws in a few twists, overall though most of the plot-holes are filled and the story ends with closure. The two heroines are very likeable as well as all of the cast (villans included).

Fun, exciting, charming and alluring, light hearted but with some serious undercurrents. All these describe this absolutely amazing anime. For fear of any spoilers can not say too much except watch it I don't think you will regret it. Sit back, enjoy the ride that is Kiddy Grade. It had me jumping about at parts, sometimes with joy and othertimes frustration and only lets up the pace in a couple of the episodes.

Kiddy Grade is a 24 25 minute long anime which had the potential to become quite interesting, but sadly didn't in the end.

There is nothing to complain about the animation of this anime. Very good quality for an anime in 2002 and every scene looks detailed.

The music in this anime is also quite good. The tunes played during the anime sets the mood and are pleasant to listen to. However, the English spoken in this anime is disgusting. Terrible grammar coupled with a strange robotic accent makes the english spoken moments a pain to listen to - especially as it wasn't robots speaking them with that voice. The theme songs also contain English, but those aren't spoken in the robotic voice making them slightly more barable to listen to.

Kiddy Grade is 100% filler for the first score of episodes. A storyline does start to develop afterwards, but sadly it never gets interesting enough to be worth watching. In fact, the storyline actually degrades the anime more in my opinion as it is so badly done.

Other than the two main characters, every other character lacks personality and development. In fact, a number of the characters seem to have exactly identical personalities, and I'm not talking about the 'clones' for those who have watched this anime.

The poor storyline will have people rewatching several episodes in a futile attempt to see whether they have missed some vital detail which would explain the dozens of unanswered questions by the end of the anime, which has to count towards the rewatch value of the anime even if it is for the wrong reasons. Another reason for re watching would be to try and spot the ridiculous 'Engrish' moments dotted around in the anime.

Kiddy Grade had the potential to become a good anime due to its interesting idea and main characters, but things clearly went horribly wrong with the storyline, the characters and the english. I for one endured the 24 episodes to the end by keeping myself occupied with consuming large amounts of oranges. If you are going to watch Kiddy Grade, I would advise you to keep a stockpile of fruit ready beforehand.

Magical Girl, sci-fi, action, some drama. Not a bad anime. I was expecting to be totally bored the 1st 8 or so episodes based on other people's reviews. I wasn't bored at all.

Kiddy Grade is about the lives of two young women in the GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trades and Tariffs) named Eclair and Luminaire. They roam the universe doing the assignments that their boss Eclipse gives them. there are lots of mecha action-sequences in this one.
This anime has nudity, violence, and blood in it. I would not call that kiddy by any means.

My overall review for this anime is 2 thumbs up. This anime has great animation, sound, a compelling and unexpected story, characters, and value. Animation is great for an anime series, mainly because it's ecchi, so characters are drawn really nice. Music is varied, effects are clear and smooth, and ending song has a good, relaxing beat to it. There are many characters here, and everyone is introduced and explained. Each of them are significant and well brought into the series. This anime is a must watch for all anime lovers.

The animation is pretty good. I like the way the characters are drawn and the graphics, such as the fighting scenes and the explosions.

The sounds its alright. I still think that Claire's voice doesn't really match her boddy in away. Other than, everything is pretty alright.

The story doesn't make sense to me in some parts because they all live so long and when they get transfer to a new body they lose part of their old memory, which in term they are always pure and innocent like children. However, i think some parts a doesn't make sense because Claire doesn't seem to be that innocent sometimes like she claims to be. This also shows that some of the character's personality are not really well developed.

The value is a above average because i like the fighting scenes, and I enjoyed some parts of it. However, this is one of the animes that i wouldn't watch it twice because it is not really funny or really deep like some other animes. I do recommend this anime to people who like sci-fi because it might make more sense to them than me. I also recommend it to at least watch it once.

Ok let´s see...
Animation
Gonzo. What more do I have to say. Just perfect.

Sound
Background music is fine, non disturbing, but not so breath-taking like Yuki Kajiura.

Story
The biggest negative of this show, unfortunately. It starts not any extra, but it keeps you in "this is just a introduction, let´s wait for the real thing" mode... but then wtf, 10 episodes and still nothing ? But then, finally, the story begin to develop, you will even see that there were 10 filler episodes for reason (I think 10 nice episodes of nothing is too many anyway). This is probably the best part of this show.
But then, unfortunately, this plot turns out into disappointment. And then one filler, another plot and end.

Characters
They are good, the pairs, single characters, abilities, I like this idea, they are all great, but many of them don´t have a chance to show what is really within them.

Enjoyment
I think this show is from the group "once is enough". Too bad about poor story, really. But give it a shot, at least for the characters. They make this show enjoyable.

Kiddy grade is a lot like Agent Aika but with a slightly better story line, and not totally revealing as Aika. This anime does accomplish is fan service by having both main characters have tons of costume changes and difference per episode. The story is few repetitions, to linear followed by an ending story after it. One thing Gonzo does do quite well is animation and you will like animation in this one.

Methinks one of the main reasons why people like Gundam is because of its chaotic plot twists and turns resulting in a giant final showdown of powers.

This is what Kiddy Grade is. Throw in a bit of fanservice into the mix and beautifully rendered animation and you got yourself a well paced anime. This is one of those "hate it or like it" sort of things, as you can tell from the reviews.

The story is indeed slow (and sorta random) near the beginning, but it's primarily to build an atmosphere around you for the episodes ahead. After Episode 9 or so, it picks up, and it left one of those "got to see the next episode" type of impressions on me, which is good.

Characters needed a bit more explanation though in terms of their background, as a torrent of them were introduced in the first 10 episodes. And amazingly enough, the VAing was actually a bit on the "meh" side, especially for Eclair.

Again, don't let the gratuitous fanservice get in the way. The bottom line is that it was an enjoyable ride from the beginning to the end... a lot of "what the heck?!" situations that were later explained - perhaps a few more episodes were needed to help the viewer absorb the torrent of information, but otherwise it was great. Don't expect anything groundbreaking here, but if you like Sci-Fi and Action with a bit of sexiness thrown on the side, then this is a good watch.

I find it hard to take this kind of anime very seriously with its fanservice, repetitive female provocation, and random costumes. First off, although the animation is indeed well drawn, its drawn in a style that is very "kiddy" like. I liked the action scenes but anything else that involved more than 2 sentences of speaking without action made me feel restless.

I find that this anime has the depth of the brain power of those subjected in blonde jokes. The story left me feeling very unsatisfied. Dialogue is really flat and the topics are boring and unfocused.

The beginning is thrown all over the place with really just random terms and random missions floating about. I find the two main characters' abilities to be very unbelivable even in this setting because it just makes you go 'huh'

As for the characters, although Claire has a cute personality and is interesting to watch, everyone else is very superficial and nothing would be missed if about half of them never existed.

Just a flashy show with interstellar agent girls romping around. If you love the two main characters (from the first episode) and flashy scenes then this anime would be OK.

I really enjoyed this series. There is good pacing and the story unveils very nicely...with how it starts out really simply and you later on learn more and more things about the characters that you couldn't have expected. At some times, you wind up thinking "WTF? What happened"...which they later explain. Don't worry, after the initial "WTF", they'll explain it to you to make you understand...so, in a way, this series kept me on my toes from beginning to end...in that, I found my interest constantly increased as the story progressed.
The animation and sound are both very well done. The characters are pretty likeable as well. After...umm...*something bad*...happens to Eclair, I actually started to miss her routine "Ta-dah"s which I thought was kinda annoying in the beginning...
Anyways, I'd highly recommend this series. It's VERY good!

The major problem with Kiddy Grade is that it doesn't know what type of series to be or what plot to settle on. There are several different plots running throughout the series that the writers try to bring together at the end and fail. There is also the interweaving of different genres: the beginning is a sort of fun loving series with little depth, the middle concerns conspiracies and tries to be intellectual while this all leads to the ending which is a mecha battle!

At times Kiddy Grade is a very interesting series but it ends up as a series that tries too hard to do too many different things.

This anime is a really mixed bag. For just about every good thing I can say about this anime, I can also say a really bad thing. Throughout the show you get equal portions of really cheesy moments and great, intense story telling. Sometimes, I couldn't put this anime down and had to watch every episode in a row. At other times, it came off as really cheesy and just pissed me off. I really couldn't reccomend buying this anime. I'd say rent it or download it at most.

Kiddy Grade felt like two different shows. There is the obvious meaning of this, and if you've seen the show you know what I'm talking about. However, at some point about 10 eps or so in, it just took on a different feel. It was originally the type of show that I kinda had to fight to watch, since I'd want to watch something else, but forced myself to sit down and watch it. And suddenly, something just....changed. I watched the entire last 15 or so eps in like 2 days. I suddenly became fantastic. The story picked up. It looks very simple and fan servicey(alright, so it stayed fan servicey. good) but it got much deeper. I was impressed with the way the story went, delving into people's pasts and memories. Read on.

***Rewatch Review:
This is the rewatch of Kiddy Grade. The first viewing was fansubs, a long time ago. Now I just plowed through 18 episodes of the collectors’ edition DVDs to finish this series up(again). Age has treated it well. Kiddy Grade was always remembered as being one of the more fun series I watched back in the day. Kiddy Grade follows a simple formula: Explosions, Comedy, Good Story, Fan Service. All of the above were VERY well executed. The story does start to tale off near the end, but it closes strong. That’s a problem I find with many shows these days, but Kiddy Grade doesn’t fall for the trap of the Bad Ending. Some day I have to write a paper on the different classes of endings, Good(which Kiddy Grade falls under), Sad(Chrono Crusade), Non-ending(Fruits Basket – the manga continues, so no true ending), and Bad(FMA). Check my profile in a couple days. Maybe I’ll have it up…. Back to the point. Kiddy Grade finishes up strong, tying in the story that started to waver a bit. The show is still a couple year old by now, but looks and sounds quite good. I like most of the characters, but most of the side characters could have used more backstory. Only Éclair really got fleshed out. We got tidbits about others, but even Lumiere could have used more time in the spotlight. The story was actually well written. At times you will be confused, especially when the “Novelleuse”(sic) start appearing, but everything gets explained well, so don’t worry. In conclusion, Kiddy Grade is solidly made, worth anyone’s time. The presentation is excellent, and the plot will keep you interested. Kiddy Grade doesn’t try to “say” anything, like FMA or similar shows might, but it keeps you entertained. And that is the point:-)

A failure by all accounts. Never before have I been so unimpressed with the first few episodes of an anime-series, and only the promised improvement in the story-department kept me watching Kiddy Grade to the bitter end. Improve it did, I must admit; but that is like saying I improved my financial situation by not buying this series - the end result was still zero.

Kiddy Grade tries to be a "girls with superpowers" -series with a sizeable sci-fi element thrown in, but this time Studio Gonzo sinks right into the quagmire known as "lack of substance" - there's simply no content in this series. Attempts to cover the said lack of substance with tasteless fan-service (in the beginning of the series) and moronic plot-twists (towards the end of the series) are doomed to fail because Kiddy Grade also lacks proper direction and interesting story-telling. There's no comedy, apart from a few lame jokes, but there's no proper tragedy either - only clumsy attempts to make it appear as dramatic as possible.

As my ratings are so far below the average review-score, I found it necessary to explain them in detail.

Kiddy Grade is what I would call good but not great series. While the animation and sound are top notch, the story is the biggest disappointment for me. A few of the problems for me were. There was to much that was untold that I would have like to seen such as how the girls got there abilities. The story don't really start till after the 10th ep so it starts slow. If the nouvless were so bad why not build them up from the start. They should have went more into Éclair's pain of being semi immortal, there had to be people she cared about besides the doctor and here son that she had to let go. I would have loved for them to make added more humor than what was there, It seem like it was to serious sometimes. I would have preferred for them to leave the giant space battles to The Gundam series it just did not seem to fit. There could have been more done to make it better than what it was but it never really happen. The wow factor is just not there for me. Which brings me to my next dilemma to keep or not to keep. I decided to keep it because a part me was looking forward to this and now that I have seen it it I am disappointed so I want to keep it and go back take a second look and see if I was wrong.
