| Hier bedarf es keiner großen Worte: Battle Stage ist nichts anderes als eine Collection aller Races die Takumi innerhalb der ersten 3 Stages absolviert hat wobei die noch schwächelnden CG-Animationen von Stage 1 aufgebohrt wurden und das Geschehen von komplett neuer Musik begleitet wird. Wenn man bereits alle 3 Stages gesehen hat gibt es eigentlich nur wenig Grund sich diese OVA anzuschauen aber falls man keine Lust auf das ganze "Zwischendrin" der Serie hat und einfach noch einmal die fetten Battles von Takumi und seinem 86er genießen will, so bietet Battle Stage eine gute Alternative. Bezahlen würde ich hierfür allerdings nicht.

| I will avoid the pitfall of rating the story or the characters, in this little gem of car racing animation. This is just racing, and I think it's pretty good. I would recommend watching the series first, but really, it is not needed, as this is just race after race.
a hoot to watch.

| Its hard to talk about story or character in this anime, when its just a rehashing of most of the races. It takes out all or almost all talking or thinking (in the character's mind) and even cuts out the beginning and ends of the races, so you don't get to listen to the full song that would go along with it. There was no purpose to this.

| This is a summary of all the races thats been on all the initial d's. Alot of the actual races were cut but its always good for collection. Go for it initial d fans ^^

| Short clips as a collection of all the races only. Not much conversation, supporting cast reactions, etc, so basically a brute anthology of race after race. Great for those who dont like stories anyway, so might as well just watch for what we really want, the races. Music is still good, and graphics are the same.

| The battle stage is by far the weakest of all the stages. Make sure you watch all the other stages before this one as it will spoil the outcome of the series!

| If you have saw the other stages then the Character and Story is not important. Hightlight of all the races. Very cool, awesome CG graphics. Hear the engines roar!

| This is meant as a companion to the Initial D stories. Personally, I kept the file accessible so that after any Initial D race I saw, I would head on over to the Battle Stage and relive the "battle." Completely unnecessary though, but a lot of fun anyway.
The CG is rather improved, although of course not up to par with current day standards (whatever current day is at this point). That's really the only reason to watch it though since there's absolutely no new plot or dialogue. Still, Initial D's races have always been hair-raising, and as long as you know the context, this can be a pretty fun watch.

| If you are not in the mood to watch the 39 episodes + the OVA + the movie again and you just want to see the battles once more, Battle Stage fits you perfectly.
Don't watch this if you haven't seen the whole series. Major spoilers.

| Fast Cars, No Story and more Fast Cars. Initial D works like so many other "sports" anime before it in the best of ways, it surrounds you in the culture, intensity and struggle that so many others sports have. ID centers around street racing, or to be more precise downhill-nighttime-racing. Battle Stage is a collection of the races in the series with better computer animation. 100% racing, 0% story. Fun to be had.
