| You're Under Arrest TV 2 is basially a continuation of You're Under Arrest TV 1. While, many repeat viewers enjoy to watch their characters do the same things, You're Under Arrest TV 2 seems to get get old with revamped old scenes. However, those who can't get enough of the previous series would still enjoy this one.
Still this anime is filled with race scenes and hopeless love, although the former is mentioned less and the latter more.
One thing I found that was nice it this series was that at least the characters devoloped instead of remainng idle, still, a shadow of the original series.

| (episodes 1-12 by Shogunanime and 13-26 by Live-evil fansubs that were much better both in picture and translation quality than ep 1-12)
YUA is one of the most popular anime titles so I decided to give it a look. From the reviews here this season seemed to be the best and since I dont plan on reading the manga or watch the lengthy first season, season 2 was the best option.
Now an anime about policemen isnt something that would attract a lot of fans but the slice of life aspect was certainly interesting.
Strangely this title was one of the easiest to watch and I finished it in a single day without feeling boredom at all. True some episodes were very mediocre and I watched them without paying attention. I felt that even if the series lasted 100 or 500 episodes I could watch it easily till the end. It also helps if the viewer (like myself) has a little experience with the chaos and paperwork of civil services (though in a post-office) to understand the tasks and jobs of the policemen. Fortunately the anime doesnt go that deeply though if it did it could have been much funnier and surreal.
Animation is sufficient for the most part and some short action scenes are funny. Characters are good designed too and women in policesuits couldnt have been more attractive.
Sound isnt that memorable. BGM is non-existent. Some funny sfx here and there. Only good thing are the voice actors and actresses.
Story isnt anything special either. Most episodes are character-based. Some episodes, especially in the start were mediocre and only after 6-7 episodes did I begin to like the series. Ending is sufficient considering this is a manga-based series.
Characters are the series highlight and what makes it worth watching. There is some melodrama in the final episodes, but prior to that most of the episodes have memorable characters that are perfect for a non-artistic and time killing slice of life anime featuring policemen. The voice actors were perfect, but also the direction was good to make that boring job as interesting as possible to the viewers. Because we have already enough series were policemen are supernatural heroes able to put down the nastiest criminals. Here we have policemen who monitor traffic. Thats a refreshing change. As for the soap opera episodes, fortunately they didnt deter me from the enjoyment that much.
Recommended, especially to slice of life anime fans. Once used to it its becomes of the most watchable series, including also a little action and comedy.

| You're under arrest is one of my favorite series, though I don't like policemen that much, I was so hooked because of its humour.
The story is about police officers, traffic enforcers to be exact, and their daily those of adventure catching traffic violators or just plain office work. But there are times when their job gets weird, they join competitions and compete with policemen in other departments. The story also includes their everyday lives and their relationship to others.
When talking about police stories, we think that it's serious and violent, but this anime portrays the reverse, it's whacky, unserious, and it's like telling the audience that being a traffic enforcer is fun when in real life being a police is a tough job. The author did a great job in making a series which is entertaining and funny despite the main characters being policewomen. I love the duo Natsumi and Miyuki, they are almost oppsite in every way but they make a really good combination and they're the best duo I've ever seen. Another thing that I like is that it's not just funny but sometimes it gets emotional too. There's a part here when Miyuki and Natsumi had a misunderstanding, but thank goodness it was resolved. I like natsumi and Tokairin as a couple eventhough they don't look good together, and also Miyuki and Ken because they are so clumsy at love. The ending is nice, but not very good but at least it has one. The episode before the ending is my favorite, when all of them are in the hotspring and there's a big development between Miyuki and Ken's "relationship". That episode should've been the last as it has more impact compared to episode 26 when they are just organizing for the opening of the newly built bridge.
Of course, there are things which I don't like much about the series. first of all, almost 10 episodes are crap and pointless. Another is that the side characters like Ken's dad and his young wife, Mr. Honda and the others are boring, they doesn't have the so called "substance". And last, there's not much focus on Natsumi and Tokairin's relationship, their story is just forgotten. And Oh, I remember another, I really hate that Natsumi has plans to transfer to another department.
The animation is okay for its time. I like the character designs exept for Ken Nakajima. He's so tough looking but actually a whimp, but we can say that he's kind of unique. And I wonder why he always wear sun glasses regardless of whether its bright or dark, its weird. Everything else is nicely drawn and I also like the lighthearted ambiance or atmosphere. The background music is okay and matches with the scene well. But what i love is the dubbing, it's one of the best. I love Natsumi's tomboyish voice and also everyone elses but my favorite is Yoriko's, her voice is cute and funny.
I just love the cast, they are the strength of this series. they are one of the most human like characters I've ever seen. They also make a nice combination with each other, I mean seeing them all together doing whatever they do is just so fun to watch. And another thing, they are not just one dimensional characters, they have depth, maybe not that much, its hard to describe but I really feel that they are alive compared to others that I've watched. My favorite here is Natsumi Tsujimoto, she's careless, happy go lucky person and quite a tomboy. Miyuki Kobayakawa is just her opposite. She's quiet, calm, sensitive and quite boring, so I don't like her much. I just remembered that she likes mechanics, but it doesn't fit her personality. Ken Nakajima is just so pathetic, I actually like to ask him "You sure you're a man?" because he's so afraid to confess his love for Miyuki, he's such a whimp that's why I wonder why she likes him, what did she see in him anyway? Yoriko Nikaido is so funny just like Natsumi. she loves gossip about her work mates, and that's her life. Aoi-chan is a transvestite, I read that in the first season, he's still a "man" but here, not anymore. He's really a gay and dresses up like a woman. Saori is just a new officer so she follows orders strictly unlike her sempais, she's just like a new employee in real life.
I recommend this to all evn to those who hates policemen. Give this a try, I'm sure you'll like it.

| This is one of the anime that struck quite an impression upon me. Action, comedy, romance and a bunch of crazy characters thrown into one show. Each of the characters are equally memorable and wacky. The friendship of Miyuki and her best buddy Natsumi is put to the test in a series of events which kept me glued to the show.(Wouldn't want to spoil it by telling so much. ^_^) The romace between Ken and Miyuki kept me guessing when the first move would be taken. Though it didn't happen to near the end, it was nonetheless touching. At only 26 episodes long it doesn't drag as much as season 1. Except for the Strike-man episodes that got irritating after awhile. Though this anime isn't within one of the top few, I personally rank it as one of the best for me. Definitely a much watch!

| I liked Season 2 almost as much as season 1, but there was definately a big difference between the two. The personalities are still the same, however the storyline development is considerably more serious. Though it was well done, there was far more romantic tension than I had wanted or expected. Aoi's new look struck me as odd at first, although it does somewhat better portray the character's "condition". In addition Saga Saori was successfully integrated as a mainstay which tied up that loose end. I thought it was well worth the watch, but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone.

| The second and best series involving Tokyo's finest policewomen... well almost. This is much like the original series except a few years have passed and new characters join the fray (Remember a young girl who wanted to become a police woman but was too short?) We still have Natsumi's wild character, Miyuki's love of mechanics, and Nakajima's weakness when it comes to speaking to Miyuki. Toukerin has a larger part in this installment but then has to leave for the mountains.. again. The story turns darker the second half as Natsumi plans to leave the precinct to join an elite police squad. This turns everything upside down as Miyuki clearly hates the turn of events and thus conflicts arise between the two women and Miyuki has a falling out with Nakajima, well things turn out ok in the end..watch it you won't be disappointed.

| After having thought that season 1 dragged on a little to long for the style of the show, I was very pleased with the 26 episode, second season to you're under arrest. Nearly identical in every way to season 1, YUA2 has all the action, all the comedy, and all the charming characters that make YUA what it is, but at a pace that's a little easier to bare. The animation style has been bumped up a notch, warmer then the first season, but not as crisp as the OVA (much like the differences between ah my goddess ova and movie). The story is pretty typical for YUA and most of the episodes are single-story. The season ends is a great spot and realy gives a proper closure to the story for everyone.
This is probably the best YUA series, not counting the movie, as it dosent get old like S1 did after a while.

| Okay series, like the first season better, theres enough humor to it to make you watch, the character intro and development wasn't enough on the beginning, (for those who never watch the 1st season may not like this anime as much.)
The storyline even through is suppose to be continuous with one another, you don't really feel much of it until the final 10 or so eps when the perfect team is about to break apart, as they wrap up the final finale of YUA.
The ending of this series is abit weak and leaves you on an empty note. (I guess they did that to maybe one day to come back to it or something.) =/ nah... I don't think so... =P
Overall, its a really great funny series, its not la la la funny, but a light la funny, with some light action, drama, and light romance. One of the Best and more well know anime title in the 90s, Recommanded for everyone. =)
"Natsumi looks cute with her happy eatting alot of stuff face." =)

| It was nice to finally get to see this series, having bought all of the first series on, wait for it, laserdisk.... in 1997-98, before dvds really became available in a big way. ;)
The continuity was good. It is nice to see that, with all of the various series being put out for YUA, they at least kept a level of consistency about them. The fact that this series was limited to no more than 26 episodes certainly helped with the production side of things. The fact that they intended for this to be the last word on the YUA plot also helped. It is a little sad to see a series that you've followed since 1994 reach its _final_ end.... Although having Saori as a major feature of the first episode was a bit misleading. One got the impression that they intended to do more with her, but somehow just avoided the issue....
Didn't like the opening theme at all. I've usually liked YUA's op/ed themes but this was a dud, to be frank. The end theme reminded me of the second ed theme of the first tv series, and I liked that one, so you do the math.... ;)

| Animation is of better quality than the first TV series, but sound-wise some of the BGM remain repetitive. I don't like the OP/ED quite as much as I did those for the first season.
Plot-wise the drama is still good; but the cast is somewhat exhausted, a problem alleviated somewhat by the introduction of Saori-chan (milk-guzzling schoolgirl from series 1) to the Bokuto traffic dept. Good doses of humor, but some of it is getting old. The ending injects depth and seriousness into the series which is usually more focused on humor.
Overall, an excellent sequel to the 1996 series, should not be missed by fans of the original.

| Its great. I haven't seen the first-but this is a must watch anime. Nothing wrong here. Every character has he/she own style and great. The main characters are sometimes funny and have amazingly super human strength. Since when a girl can lifft up cars that often?
The story focus the life of a pair of partners in the bokuto police station, living ordinary lives. The partner splits, once getting promoted, the other as normal. There is a lot of realistic story involving police. But most of the story are not a continuation. The story is light, anyone can see it once.
Sometimes its funny. Others just showing cops doing what they do best.

| It's rare that this happens, but the second series of You're Under Arrest is actually better than the first. While the animation quality in the first series fell off after the first four (OVA) episodes, in the second series it stays consistently good throughout, and the entire cast of Boktou Precinct is back for more adventures. It's got the same good points as the first series--mainly a lighthearted comedy, but with characters you really grow to like and a little action thrown into the mix as well. The second series adds a couple new minor characters, plus Saori-chan joins Boktou, but fortunately they didn't drop any main characters, and if you liked the first series, I think you're pretty much guaranteed to like this one.

| One of the better feel-good anime. I thought the first series was alright, but this one is a lot more focused.
One would expect a police anime to be filled with crime and violence, but this is about as far from that as it can be. Police uses paint guns, and their work seems to always focus on helping old people or children. There are car chases of course, but there's hardly any time where someone actually got hurt.
This light-hearted comedy takes up most of the series, but a more serious soapy story arc shows up by the end, and really boosts the overall experience of the show. Although some of it falls in the lame area, it is successful at fleshing out the main characters as believable human.
That's not to say that it's perfect. It is not at all. The Toukairin Natsumi relationship has become very cliche and boring. The interesting Toukairin from the first series has now become your generic bishounen character. This is a shame, seeing that this plot is Season 1's high point. By the end of the series, the animation quality also worsen by quite a bit, leaving the characters looking silly trying to say serious lines. Some of the dialogues are also incredibly lame, though I suspect this to be the fansubber's fault more than the actual anime.
Still, the pros far ourweigh the cons. This is an anime where both children and adults can enjoy (though for different reasons), and one which I could recommend to anyone. If you want a break from all the angst-ridden show, give this a try.
- The last story arc is so good in that it's unpredictable. Perhaps this is because of Nakajima's own uselessness.
- People say that this show should be a TV drama instead. I used to agree, but seeing now how much it sucks, let's hope they make more anime series of this.

| From the same mangaka who brought us Aa! Megami-sama, Kyosuke Fujishima brings us a less supernatural story.
Being my first real experience with YUA save for the movie (which I enjoyed) and a few chapters of the manga (ditto), I'm not sure how my opinions of this show are tainted, but nonetheless it's a fun show that might not be all that deep but is definitely worth the watch regardless.
