An almost near perfect transalation from the manga. Tha manga is way better than Dragon ball for those who look more than mindless fighting element.
The animation clearly shows that it is an old anime, & looks like the all anime that follows gets its roots from here.
The color of the anime is somewhat off sometimes. Maybe its apropriate during those times, I don't know.
the story from enix is what started all the DQ games, all the fire emblem, and typical RPG games which involves fantasy and medival settings.
This anime is rare, & very hard to find. I saw the french dubb of it. Clearly under rated as being not popular but its a gem.

Based on the "Dragon Quest" videogame series, Dai no Bouken has the classical story of the boy who wants to grow up as a powerfull warrior and fight against "the evil empire" (still Dai, the boy, already is powerfull).

Although the story isn't that original, it has good points (I'll never forget when Dai and the magician combine their powers to summon a lighting bolt from the sky!) and is exactly what one could expect of an classical RPG-medieval style anime!

I've seen better fantastic medieval animes, but this one still good enough. Unfortunately, it's unfinished...
