Where Kite was dark and depressing, Mezzo has a funnier side. Dont be deceived by that though. As in Kite, sex and violence are plenty here too.
Problem is that some months ago I had watched the series. I thought the OVA would be better than the series but it is only to the extent that you think an OVA should have more sex and violence than a series to be better. The series, even if it looks mediocre to me now, had some good episodes with action and comedy.
But here the direction is mediocre. Action and sex are out of context. This title has only shock value.
The voice actors and character design are much better than Kite (except the main female lead, while the mobster's daughter was excellent). It lasts 10 minutes more but it gets boring at some point and the finale isnt one of the most memorable either. One of the titles to watch once.
If you liked this watch the series. I should have watched this instead of the series to spare some valuable time.

| Mezzo Forte is the tale about Momokichi and Mikura. Momokichi is a very wealthy crimelord in Japan, and Mikura is the special agent sent to track him down. Add to this Momokichi's bratty daughter momomi, and tons of sex and violence, and you've got this animated film. It was split into two episodes for distribution.
It is definitely NOT for children.

| Much like a modern day American movie, the best word to describe Mezzo Forte is "gratuitous". Gratuitous sex and violence. The sex scenes seem thrown in for no reason; they have no impact on the plot of the movie and you could take them out without missing anything.
The animation, while not terrible, is not that good either. The action scenes are fluid, though the actions of the characters seem a bit unrealistic (at one point, a car is driven straight up a narrow flight of stairs, and then literally hops itself sideways up over a railing parallel to the stairs and back onto the road, all without sustaining any damage and maintaining full speed)
The soundtrack is unnoticeable; I can't remember any song from this movie. The voice actors did a pretty fine job with what they had to work with, however.
The story, surprisingly, is fairly interesting and has enough complexity and plot twists to keep the story moving. While there are a fair number of plot wholes and unexplained occurences (why does Mikura recieve visions?) they don't ruin the story.
The characters are interesting, especially Mikura and Momomi, though neither are given any sort of background information or development. In fact, none of the characters are really fleshed out or given much development, and at the end we wonder about the relationships between some of the characters and their motivations behind their actions.
There isn't much that is unique about this anime; better gratuitous violence can be found in Berserk, and if you're looking for sex then you can go watch a hentai movie. I doubt I will ever rewatch this anime. However, this anime is better than Kite, the anime which it is usually compared to. (In fact, there is a cameo of Kite's main character in one of the first scenes: she walks behind the policeman as he is talking to Mikura's bald compatriot in the car)
Overall, while I did enjoy the anime, the sex scenes were unneccessary and took away from the fast action pace of the anime, serving only as fan service.

| Mezzo Forte gives some life to the “girls with guns” type anime, with creative storytelling and humour the highlights of this better than expected OAV.

| Gritty, dirty, violent and strangely arousing, Mezzor Forte is a classic in anime making as well as hentai exposure.
Unfortunately for many people, if an anime deems to have sex scenes in it, people dismiss it because its too erotic or classed as unnecessary, and to an extent it is true for Mezzo's case, especially with the un-needed threesome rape scene in episode 2.
Granted though, this OVA is classy as it is shows enough entertainment to be deemed watchable. Something about ripping people's fingernails and shooting lots of people seems so cool but oh so cringely violent. Sure, this is not everyone's taste and people will hate it because of not standard anime following that this OVA produces, but i give it credit for that, its bold, refreshing and enjoyable.
Overall, hentai fans will love it. Anime fans will argue whether its good or bad, but i liked it because its different despite the touchy scenes.

| Hey this wasn't bad. It's Kite, except BETTER. Funnier, sleeker, better action and just generally... better!
This is a nice stylish gangster story, kind of liked those retro 70/80's tv shows. Lots of guns, explosions etc, the action somewhat over the top, like in kite - these people seem to be harder than the walls lol, but stil... good fun :) The brutal porno scenes ruined it somewhat though. May be better to get the cut version for it, like some of the people here seemed to have watched. Just don't expect substance, that's all I can say :)
Highly Recommended for: Kite fans

| Just as bad and almost similar to the TV version, even for a couple of episodes. I remember thinking it wouldn't be as good as I thought it would be when I saw this after Kite a long time ago, and it did had the same basic concept that started as the OVA from the Mezzo TV series. The leading girl is as usual predictable and overly rowdy through the entire storyline, with having a lot more action, violence, gun-happy fights, redundant explosions and others over thrilled scenes that are probably the only appeal in this one as well as anything else. The given conflict were also poorly developed in an uninteresting manner, trying to focus from one mission in the entire plot and eliminate anyone who got in her way with kidnapping someone, which as a whole sums it up. It does have a few more mature features than it did from the later ones, but isn't something to be slightly praised on; while not even being worth one look.

| HAHA this anime is great. what Mezzo Forte lacks in plot, it MORE than makes up for in fun. Every once in a while you just need to cut loose and watch something like this. Tons of action, a gravity defying stunt or three and enough panty shots to shake a stick at! *nose bleeds furiously* While the general opinion throughout these reviews has been that the sex scenes are out of place, I think that couln't be further from the truth. They only add to the excitement that is Mezzo Forte. I could watch this 100 times over.

| After hearing quite a bit about this 60 minute feature, I figured it must have some good qualities to it. I was wrong.
This is one of those "mean spirited" animes - where the violence is brutal and the sex is vile. The 2nd episode where the female lead character is raped by 2 scumbags is especially disturbing and degrating. First she fights it, then she craves it, then she fights it again ????? WTF ???? Stupid and demoralizing.
Underneath all the ugliness is a story that was boarderline compelling - so to make sure it was not rushed by the 60 minute running time, I purchased Vol 1 of the series hoping to get more insight. I was wrong....
Now I know why they make OVA's and decide to not continue them.
The highlight are the fight scenes (WHEN they occur)...But 2 quality fight scenes + 2 graphic sex scenes does not make for great viewing folks. Stay away.

| First I didn’t get why this was classified as hentai, then I realized I’ve watched the cut version. and it's a good thing I did, according to this reviews below me (I ended up watching the hentai scenes separately when I downloaded them somewhere).Anyway, this has a decent storyline, nice characters, and the fact that it's a bit comical only adds to the experience (that, and the fact that they violet every physics rule known to man (I mean please, a car driving on water? then jumps to the road using the stairs? -_-)
too bad that the story didn’t put more emphasis on what was the relation between those 2 female characters that they had the same visions. oh well, maybe the TV show will have more on that ^_~.

| This is a really entertaining anime. This is basically everything that Kite wasn’t, it’s funny, the characters are better developed and the story is more solid. The animation is decent, the drawings are cool looking but it lacks frames. Good colors and character designs save it though. The sound is reasonable, the sound effects are solid, the dubbed voices are believable but the ST is forgettable—nothing to complain much about. The characters are one strong point, almost all are really enjoyable and funny, the humor adds enough depth to keep the viewer’s interest. The story is pretty basic: kidnapping, killing, explosions—basic action story but it works really well for some reason. I just realized I saw the version w/o the sex scenes, since most other reviews are complaining about them I don’t think I missed much. Overall, worth a rental.

Action, fun, pure eyecandy, in other words: just hmmmmmmmm! Loved the music in the OVA. And the characters are all so well in place in the story, really nice to see.
I would have given the full 10s, but since there were the two useless (the first was funny though) sexscenes I had to lower it to the hard 8.
Great Animation, choreography, humor and hmmmmbowling.
You should see the OVAs again immediatly after you watched it once. Indeed, 1-2 and again..1,2. Cuz after rewatching it I saw that the story was very correct and unexpectedly solid.
Definetly worth watching and I ‘m not a sucker for Hentai!

| Mezzo Forte is a humorous action flic, where everything and everybody is being made fun of. The main characters live their lives on the edge and have chosen to simply react to the unexpected always lurking around the next corner with an easy going attitude. No deep philosophical musings here, if you know what I mean.
The show offers countless samples of humor, even if some people may not find them appealing. The old VW Beetle is practically running up the walls, the characters often defy the laws of physics and the movie posters on the walls are making fun of popular real-life action flics. Got time for hairsplitting? I don't think so, because every second of the show is packed with action and if you stop to analyse things you're probably missing out.
As someone else said in a review, it depends on the frame of mind you tackle this movie with. If you expect to find depth to the characters and a sensible story, tough luck. If you just want humor and non-stop action, this is the show for you.
It's unfair to say that MF doesn't have a good story. While the actual stunts ranging from SciFi to impossible can be regarded as pushing it, the plot is well built and features twists that will keep you on the edge of the seat without confusing you.
In short, MF is fun, wild and very very non-politically-correct. It has gore, sex and killing all pictured in an easy going manner. Good for the kids? Definitely not. But an open-minded adult can just as definitely enjoy this.
I can only tink that the people who made it apparently tried very hard to make fun of everything under the sun. While not a hentai movie, MF still features two very explicit sex scenes. If you want my humble oppinion, I'd say that the creators introduced them just for the heck of it; "we've already broken all the rules and shattered every taboo, how about we add a piece of ass too?" Besides, you may have noticed the irony here too: one of the sex scenes is a dream, the other is a fake. So there wasn't any "real" sex...

| Mixed feeling about this one. it's not as good as kite i think, more action less story is how i'd put it. the characters are the best part of this 2 eps. OAV. the story isn't all that good, and the character development was really poor i'd say, but the characters themselves were nicely designed.
animation, it's what you'd expect from the makers of kite.
there was a really good voilent bit that i really enjoyed in mezzo forte (and no this one isnt the sex scenes... *>.<), i won't say what it was, but it's just that i am very desensatised when it comes to violence, nothing makes me feel that violence is anything special anymore, but i havent seen this particular thing done before in a violent action films before.
even though this wasn't a great OAV and i found myself holding back trying not to be biased just because this was from the makers of kite (which i liked a lot) when trying to grade this. but despite the low-ish scores, you can see that in 'Enjoyment' i gave this a high score, says it all really...
(okay after i reviewed this, i read some of the other reviews, and many treat this as a hentai, well for me, it is a hentai, not something i'd go showing my parents, but i dont realy treat this as a hentai film, it's not a hentai like Night Shoft Nurses or Bible Black)

| Mezzo! Too much story, not enough sex. I mean seriously, it's supposed to be a hentai, where's the sex? It's like they finished making the anime, THEN decided to make it a hentai and threw in some sex scenes it could very well have done without. That being the case, I don't think of Mezzo Forte as a hentai at all, I think of it as a failed anime.
Too much pointless bloody action. One badass chick - the one with the long hair, and a plethora of sucky characters. The story was nothing to write home about, and the mystery about the two girls came to nothing in the end. I wasn't impressed.

| One of the Best Hentai / Anime i saw... though its probly Unappriate for most regular anime audience, Mezzo Forte sets a standard wut all anime's animation should be. it is VERY SMOOTH. This is similar to cowboy beebop, but I think its BETTER, the Martial Art is Astounding. the ending is... well fun ^^
all in all IT IS VERY GOOD i recommand to ANY anime viewer. u can skip those scenes if u don't like them..

| It was really a pleasure to watch. Enjoying Mezzo Forte is easy and flowing with the beautiful animaton was a plus considering the high quality action scenes. Every anime has its flaws, and this one the story and character development was at a minimal. As always, the story could have been better if more explaining was done. The sex scenes in here was in here for adult enjoyment and nothing else, especially the last scene. Rather check out Mezzo DSA than Mezzo Forte. Good for enjoyment, bad for reviews.

| This was an interesting little anime. The animation was excellent, and the characters were very interesting despite the weak plot. The musical scoring was great and the voice acting was appropriate. It was very much on the sick side, what with the graphic violence and spontanious sex scenes, but if you weren't expecting that stuff when you started watching... o_O;

| I'm starting to see a pattern here. First it was Kite, now it's Mezzo Forte. The concept bewteen both of them: Young sexy assasins and the old men that rape/love them. Seriously! I watch Kite...it was okay(the ending was pretty good). I watch Mezzo Forte and it seem to have the exact concept that Kite had. Girl taken in at a young age, guy has sex with her when she was young, girl becomes a killing machine, sex(or in some ways rape) occurs, bad guys loss, girl lives, end. Story in a nutshell.
I have to agree that the sex scene are detailed, put pointless(of course it was meant to simulate people).

| Mezzo Forte ist zwar kein direkter Nachfolger von „Kite“, trägt aber eine ähnliche Handschrift und lässt sich ebenso einfach auf wenige Faktoren reduzieren. Sprich: Action, Gewalt und Sex, wobei die Sexszenen dieses Mal völlig unnötig sind und wohl einfach nur integriert wurden, da sich Green Bunny wohl dazu verpflichtet fühlt in Animes die ihren Namen tragen Sex zu präsentieren. Ansonsten bietet Mezzo Forte genau das was ich erwartet habe: Nicht zimperliche Action geschmückt mit eimerweise Blut, eine ziemlich simple Story und Charaktere ohne jedweden Tiefgang. Fans von übertriebener Gewalt und anspruchsloser Knall-Bumm-Unterhaltung kommen bei dieser OVA noch am meisten auf ihre Kosten. Für den Hentai-Fan sind die 2 Sexszenen wohl zu wenig, auch wenn sie recht gut animiert sind. Im Endeffekt versuchen sich die 2 Episoden hauptsächlich mit blutigen Schießereien und mehr oder weniger spektakulären Explosionen über Wasser zu halten, was so manchem wahrscheinlich auch schon zur guten Unterhaltung ausreicht. Fazit: Mezzo Forte ist besser als „Kite“ aber nach meinen persönlichen Kriterien dennoch weder ein guter Action-Film noch ein guter Hentai.
