| First of all if you are an "HONOR" student or a mature person in the mind you have no business watching this anime tittle. Te directors father says that right before the intro. Ok so I finally get around to finishing one of my favorite animes which so happens to be called "Sexy Commando Gaiden: Massaru-san". I also learned the martial art called the "Sexy Commando". This is simply an all out random and really unpredicting series' which most people won't like it. Also this would be rated mature. Do not expect to be eb
The jokes can come out of literally any situation and which some people might call this taste-less comedy but well yea but I think its funny even if it has a weird plot with weird characters and everything else is just simply weird.
Animation - The animation is suppose to be crappy which makes it funny. Sometimes it can look like a two year old drawing yes I mean literally. And the other times it can look like an extremely cheap budget anime, but the animation is also part of what makes it funny.
The colors are bland . There isn't that much shading in the drawings. The character drawing are all funny looking especiall you cough*meso*cough.
Sound - The opening theme was really catchy and had random lyrics. The background song are some what retarded and have no sense in them like the Sexy Cammando theme song which theclub members think they have weird lyrics accept for Hananakajima.
The seiyuus were really funny with their voices and fit theemoronic and extremely stupid minds and the peronalities of the characters'. The noices that the seiyuus make are funny and change can change their tone from angry to nicre to assaholic-like to crying.
Story - Now the story from the first view and 99.9% of the last view most people excluding me wold have this question in their mind, " What the hell is this about?" Well I'l tell you what this is about. Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoiyo! Masaru-san is about a person named Masaru san and everyone thinks he is the most abnormal person to the point of freakish which he is who learned the martial art Sexy Commando.
I'm not going to go into detail. But he in his friends he makes have fun and whacky continuos stories.
Characters - These characters are out thereand simply random and corny on how their personality changes from an ass to wanchu haha. Now most people would say there is no character developement but I say what bout the normal one turning weirder and changing personality. Though they are pretty dumb but funny in all the same.
The characters get nicknamed without even having a chance on weather they like it or not like Fuumin or Kyosharin (kyoshara means fragile) yea hes a kid with cracky bones who makes his own protein pills whhich makes him boney and brittle.
Value - The subtittles were really accurate. The rewatch value is very high if you really like it which you probably won't. But I would watch it any time again. The collection value you can get the episodes from fansubsbecause I haven't seen any import dvds of it. i recomend this to someone who just happens to stumble and find it

| Art and animation quality suits this kind of series great, in it's own way. By no means it's good in "standard terms" (comparing to other series' in '98, because it would instantly drop out of competition), but this ain't your typical show either.
Opening music is funny and good the same time, in it's own way -- it doesn't even remotely relate to the series but it sounds crazy enough to fit the series. Seiyuus do their jobs nicely and sometimes the voice acting alone makes you chuckle. Gotta love all those "NANIII?!?" shouts :D
Basically there isn't any story, it's more like a roadtrip of Sexy Commando club, with all the weird happenings and events - and it simply kicks ass. I dont know if this one would've worked with a storyline of somesort, but who cares, it's great as it is :)
Characters vary from eachother enough and they give good laughs with their antics. Ofcourse Masaru stands out in this point, but since he's kind like the star of the show, it doesn't matter. Usually the whole group goofs off together, so they don't kind of forget anyone out of it.
Value.. For a normal anime-viewer this might not be any colletible value, but if you really think you've seen it all, this is your next stop, imho.
Enjoyment I'll give full points. I haven't seen something this weird and same time as funny as this. I don't think I've seen anything as great as this with abstract-style of humour. Plus, it's educational indeed, as one of the reviewers stated earlier. Nothing beats the ukulele-lessons :D

| One of the funniest anime I've ever seen. We have our main character Masaru who beats his opponents using the unusual martial art "Sexy commando", that is distracting them in a "sexy" way (unzipping his pants for example) and then hit them.
Masaru is a very strange character not only for his. His brain works in a different way and his ideas are hard to get even by his own comrades. These are the other students that He drags into his adventures.
Strange (in a comical way) characters and occurrencies are the main point of this unusual anime.
Recommended.

| Very funny, but extremely badly drawn anime. Likely more funny to Japanese who will get the jokes and puns (the fansub I watched explained most of them), as well as being able to relate to the high school age kids in a Japanese Highschool. It is also extremely disjointed (on purpose) and it takes a few episodes to get used to the wackiness and stuttering nature of the story. If you like comedies, this is one to watch.

| Don't let the name fool you. There is nothing sexy about Sexy Commando. Male characters are mostly weirdos and the only girl likes some really ungirly stuff. So go to your hentai needs somewhere else.
What Sexy Commando is all about is an endless barrage of twisted humor. From beginning to end the viewer will shake his head in disbelief as the main hero Masaru presents his life philosophy that centers around the martial art Sexy Commando. It's idea is to distract your enemy first, for example by unzipping your pants and doing some dubious stuff around there, and then bash the confused enemy. Following this crazy disclipine would be hilarious enough but when you add there aliens, baseball, seaweed, secret organizations and god knows what else elements you get a laugh-riot without any comparison. And of course Masaru is not alone but is companied by other misguided individuals who have joined the Sexy Commando Club with or without their consent. They have complex issues with things like mustaches, friends, constitution or strength but that doesn't stop them from practicing Sexy Commando.
Animation-wise the series is quite bad and zany. Which kind of fits it perfectly. It seems that the whole time the series is under somekind of deformed mode and people never look real. But the use of simplified animation effects is simply perfect for this kind of series and it really enhances the silly humor. Sound-wise I have nothing to complain. The voice actors do brilliant job conveying the relaxed nature Masaru has towards everything and horrified responses more normal people have toward him. The songs played in the series follow suit and are filled with incomprehensible lyrics and catchy tunes.
What is bone of all of Sexy Commando is its utter unpredictability. You definitely never know what the next episode (or even the episode at hand!) will bring about. One thing is sure however: it will have you rolling on the floor and laughing hard.

| sexy commando is a brilliant anime. everything about it is pure genius.
masaru-san is the best anime character ever. he is so cool, and bizzare that you will want to BE him. he is my idol.
he is a hegimanic, which means he has a beard fetish. when he defeats an enemy he draws a beard on them. weird? YES! awesome? also YES!
being a sexy commando means you wear the outfit that he does and when you fight an enemy you pull your pants down and do a weird dance (or something equally strange) to distract them, then you beat the ever living crap out of them. that is the art of being a sexy commando.
he forms a "sexy commando club" at school where he enlists a couple weirdos. they are basically losers, but that's OK, they are very lovable.
i had to give animation an 8 even though i WANT to give it a 10. in reality it probably deserves a 6, but since i can't imagine the showing being any better with flawless animation this really isn't a big deal. it's funnier BECAUSE the animation is bad.
to my knowledge no one ever finished subtitling this show which is a bloody shame. i did get the rest of it raw though, and it's still funny even though i don't understand it. ^_^
watch this show NOW! daichi is a genius, and this is by far the best series he has created (though kodocha and fairy princess ren are close).

| The funniest and wierdest anime ever. Period. No other show, including all of the popular anime comedies such as "Excel Saga", has made me laugh so much. And despite the title, it's *not* X-rated--far from it in fact; to tell you the truth, from what I've seen so far, there really isn't any nudity in the series, and cursing is seldom used by the "good guys" of this series (though some fansubs may make you think otherwise).

| Definitely one of the more unique series that I've come across. While each episode clocks in at about 8-9 minutes, the pace is fast and quite a lot is packed in.
Masaru is a strange kind of guy, who wants to enlighten others to the ways of the "Sexy Commando". He also likes to write the characters for "meat" on people's foreheads, and has a thing for mustaches and beards.
Each episode is full of non-stop action and comedy that will either leave you scratching your head or wanting more. I love the opening song- it's bouncy and catchy and will stick in your head.
The animation is average, but it's more than made up with by the story itself. The ukelele lesson bits...well, I don't know what to make of them...the music throughout the series is fitting and has a 70s feel to it, much like the character design.
Overall, an excellent, wacky comedy series. Just be careful if you try out any of the "Sexy Commando" moves on your own!
