| This anime is very depressing in a lot of ways.
Animation is sort of poor. If you've seen the sequel to this (It's a movie, in fact...) Then sometimes, the people are actually moving CARDBOARD pictures. Uh-huh. The music I actually LOVE. The ending theme is sort of unforgettable. But then again, the dubbing in both languages is pretty awful.
The story is split between Jiro being an android, and the growing romance between Mitsuko and Jiro. However, Jiro complains a tad too much. It actually gets a bit annoying. And in relevant scenes for the Android part of the plot, it gets sort of boring. I think it's because of the voice actors...or maybe the background of it all...
Characters are pretty decent, besides Jiro whining a bit too much. And why does he look like Cyborg 009?(I hate that show, by the way -.-)
The Art is REALLY poor. Just like 009, it's goofy looking people, goofy looking shoes, and the robots aren't too fantastic either.(But the art sort of improves in the sequel ;D)
You might want to just watch the whole thing 1 time. I liked it enough to watch-over 3.
I really liked this anime a whole lot. To me, it's very interesting. Now, if it wasn't for the horrible art...
I'm probably very different from you guys who hate this show, Buuuut...It gets a 4 out of 5 in my scoring system.

| I hated this show. I didnt like the main character at all. I got sick of him whining about being an android. The english dub was pretty bad. I found the show very boring. I hate the character designs. I dont like the designs where they have they have the really big buttons and the people with the really big noses. When i saw it I thought that it was an old anime! Now Ive seen it all and I hate it even more. It gets even more stupid when they try to introduce a plot for the last few episodes and it makes no sense.

| Oh my, I hated this anime. First of all it scares me to death, almost all the episodes are the same, it reminds me of Cyborg 009 but a bit more freaky, and it has terrible character and art styles. I do not recomend it, you'd be better off not knowing this anime exists. And the ending theme is the scariest ending I have ever seen.
Animation- First of all, the animation is quite clear and the movements are good, but it is very... akward. Definitly not my style, and if you like cute lighthearted things like me, the style of this animation is going to give you nightmares.
Sound-The sound is oh my gosh, SCARY. I know I know, I keep saying this is scary, but there is nothing else to say. It is dark and depressing. Something in a horror movie.
Story- The story is just very unoriginal. The episodes are all the same and you will get tired of Jiro whining about being a cyborg. Anyway, the story is very stupid, typical robot wanting to be human type of show. He doesn't want to fight, forced to hurt his loved ones, bla bla bla.
Character- One word. Scary.
Overall- This sucked. Something you won't want to watch unless you like scary animes that will make you depressed...

| I HATED this when I first saw it. It was on Cartoon Network of course... who woulda known about it otherwise, right?
When I watched it waiting for the good stuff to begin I found myself engrossed in the storyline. The main characters I found to be really well developed in a 13 episode format.
As for the animation, well I seiously thought it was made in the 70's so I considered it good for it's time period :P, but I guess it was made in 2000- based off of an old story?
Overall, I ended up really liking it and trying to find the original Japanese subtitled (no luck yet) because I can tell from what they DID show on CN that some parts were DEFINITELY edited :( I'd suggest it to any long-time anime fans to see, however, I wouldn't suggest it to a newcomer. heh

| lots of people dumping on this, but I figure that very few anime fans are old enough to remember the live action serial that this is based on. If they did, they would realize that this show has sentimental value more than anything else. Cartoon Network was gutsy in deciding to put Kikaider in its lineup because few American audiences would be able to recognize the Kikaider trademark.
Anyway, the Kikaider storyline is a varied and interesting one. The animation, although a bit uninspiring to many, exhibits a good deal of reverence to the show's roots.
Admittedly, Kikaider isn't full of gratuitous sex, gore, or violence, but buried beneath all of thee fighting sequences and transformations is a sometimes compelling story.
In conclusion, don't expect to feel anything for Kikaider if you've never heard anything about it beforehand. It's a series based on a classic character and it's basically a modernization of a throwback, right down to finishing moves, choreographed transformations, and even direction of the action and camera. Just remember, eventhough you may not think much of Kikaider, old serials like Kikaider and Ultraman were popular and influential enough to make American producers want to emulate their success over here in the West with god-awful crap like the Power Rangers.
Give respect where respect is due.

| Who would have known? if they never shown this on CN i wouldnt have known this would have existed.
Animation: I dont realy like the desing of the Kikaider android and some of the character desing but then again unlike most aniems they didnt advance the character desings they just used the same ones from the manga
Sound: The dub was neat, ending song was great, nice sounding
Story: Even though its basicly Pinochio for older audiances i think it was fairly origanal, theres some character devolopment i liked it.
Character: The only character i realy hated was the little brother, i think he sucked and was a whiny asshole
Value: would you have known this existed if you didnt watch the live action Kikaida in hawai, or saw it on CN, thats how valueable it is.
Enjoyment: I certianly liked it.

| Android Kikaider was very interesting, though I don’t generally find robotic animation very interesting, I must say that it was very captivating, and fun to watch. But the most interesting thing about this show is it’s underline meanings, for example, it is association to the fairy tale of “a little wooden boy� who wants to become real. Theirs a lot of inner turmoil going on in the main character. I found it heartwarming to see how a robot struggles with human emotions, such as love. Bottom line- If you’re intent on action, try something else, for this anime has a lack of. But if you would like to see a love story blossom between a human and an android, they it..
