| Otogi Story Tenshi no Shippo (a.k.a. Angel's Tales) is the story of Goro Mitsume, a young man down on his luck. Out of work and no girlfriend, he struggles to make the rent. He sees a fortune teller who tells him that his luck will change. Sure enough, he has shown kindness to animals in the past, so twelve of the animals are sent back in the bodies of hot babes.
I had to force myself to watch 6 episodes of this, and I couldn't do it without doing the Mystery Science Theater 3000 thing. WHY THE HECK IS EVERYONE ELSE RATING IT SO HIGH!? The stupid in this one BURNS LIKE A RAGING WILDFIRE!!

| For some reason I love watching harem anime, but most of the time I'm left disappointed and wondering why I bothered, then I found Angel Tales ^__^
This is the most refreshing and different harem style anime I have ever seen, with some of the nicest, sweetest girls ever, a not too bad geek in glasses and a big surprise in the guise of 4 absolutely gorgeous hunks called The Saint Beasts.
As long as you're not looking for gratuitous fan service and want something a little different, then I can't recommend this enough ^__^

| Upon watching this anime I've noticed the eerie similarity to another anime called Sister Princess. The characters are similar, and in some ways, the look almost the same too! But at least this anime is marginally better than Sister Princess in almost every category to make this anime tolerable.
The animation is good with good details and colourful designs. And each character looks cute without being too overly done. I wish there are more different actions though, because the action looks boring at times.
The sound is great, since there are 12 female girls in the story, the anime employed quite a few good seiyuu, with names like Tanaka Rie, Ayako Kawasumi, Saeko Chiba, etc. They really do make a difference in bringing their presence to the anime.
The story has quite a bit of potential but because the writers are trying to make this a harem anime, it really destroys any of the seriousness that the anime has. I wish the background of the god and the war can be more elaborate than just a few sentences. And the conflict between the enemy and the hero could be push for more action. But the worst thing is that when the so called Guardian Angels have to be saved by the hero instead of the other way around (but what do you expect a bunch of kindergarten kids do!!!)
Some characters are good, especially the more mature ones like Ran, Tsubasa or Mika. But others like Akane, Midori, or Yuki has so much potential to develop into a good character but there isn't much time for an anime to explain all 12 girls in 20 minutes. And again, just like every other harem anime, I dispise the hero, he has no backbone or any redeeming value besides being "nice". Unfortunately this will get you no where in the real world kids!
Just don't expect too much from this anime and you will at least have some enjoyable moments with it. And like every other harem anime, do not expect any depth or you will be greatly disappointed.

| Sweet anime about the important theme of loving and caring. Particularly the love between human and animals.
Animation is not exactly my cup of tea, anyway some characters are depicted good (and other aren't, by the way). There's an amazing OP theme, kiddy but catchy, and the cast of seiyuu has good names (first of all, there's the seyuu of Chii in Chobits, dubbing Ran).
The concept of the story is very original and pretty: the pets that the main char used to own and that tragically missed, now return to him as young cute looking girls with the role of "guardian angels".
I really liked the concept. Anyway, after a bit, it is sort of.. abused! Yeah.. abused, twelwe girls are simply too much, imho when there are more then 6-7 all becomes just confusionary. So does happen here, in fact in the last episodes authors did manage a way to keep certain characters out for an episode and then return in the next one.
But still, they're too much. Speaking of which: I noticed that, out of 12, just 3 characters are shown decently (I mean, their feelings, their actions) and these are Ran, Tsubasa and Mika. The other ones, it's like they're acting in the shadows.
The show is relaxing, often comes to be funny and it's carefree, although honestly I don't see great rewatchability here, because at the end it doesn't show up from the average.

| This is exactly the type of settings i enjoy, one guy living with a bunch of girls who like him. Sadly though, this anime was a little on the boring side, especially when they talked about magic and stuff like that. I still ejoyed it, and the romance was average. NOthing too hilarious to make you laughout loud here. Also not to say that im a pervert, but i think this anime would be better with more fanservice like in love hina or ai yori aoshi. The animation and sound are quite average. This anime couldve been my favorite if it were done in a different way. Now on to part 2!

| Wicked cute, but for harem fans only. Suprisingly I can't remember any fanservice in this show. Instead, Angel's Tail goes by the everyday life and family building route that we saw in Happy Lesson to make a charming story that any fan of the genre would enjoy. Goro gets his life back on track as one-by-one, his childhood pets are reencartated as beautifull young girls that come back into his life. With 12 pets in all, you might think it would be hard to keep track of who's who, and which animal the person is, but Wonderfarm really put the animal's personalities into the characters. Just looking at Tamami you can tell she's a cat. Midori's rampant sexual drive to Goro is a lot like, well, rabbits :P, and Yuki give a great impression of a snake.
This kind of stuff isnt ground-breaking, but it sure is fun to watch.

| I saw the first volume of this series. Perhaps it hleped that I just love harem animes and the craziness that ensues in them, or maybe because I like all things cute, but this show is a lot of fun, even if it is entirely shallow and cliche. The animals coming back as angelic girl protectors (out of a cellphone no less!) is a nice touch to add a twist to the tired genre.
It really helps that all the girls stand out on their own as well. Each girl is very cute and the character designs are great. Each character's hair style actually resembles their past animal, for example the parakeet has spiky green hair, the cat has little braids that look like ears and a very Puchiko like appearance (Digi charat), and the dog girl has blue hair that droops like dog ears. Of course, their behaviors also reflect their past animal. The rabbit girl is well...in the mating mood, the turtle girl is a bit slower than the others, the fox and dog are playful characters, and the hamster is very active and never stops stuffing her cheeks with food. I also liked how the characters interact. For example, the former cat is always eyeing the former hamster, goldfish, and parakeet, the fox is always arguing with the hound (fox and dog), the tortoise scuffles with the hare (turtle and rabbit). This part of it I like a lot. Each girl also cares a lot for Goro because he treated them well as animals. Its more believable than a lot of other shows where the attraction to the male lead doesnt seem to have a reason.
What I dont like however, is that the whole show, while fun, really doesnt stand out enough to make it at all popular. So many harem shows exist, its impossible to really make one that is truly unique. Perhaps, in the long run, lack of popularity is to its benefit. I recommend watching this if you dont mind a lack of story but just want a fun anime with neat characters to pass the time.

| I guess the easiest word to describe Tenchi no Shippou would be to call it uninspired - there are a few good things about it, but they are few and far between.
The art in the series is decent - but nothing groundbreaking. Compared to older anime, it starts to look quite average. The sound is basically the same, nothing too awful, but even the OP/ED on this are quite boring.
However, it is the story which I really have some problems with. Another story which is manufactured to have as many young girls in it as possible, which means the story has very little direction and the end of the series needs some completely ridiculous plotline to keep it going.
The characters, while nicely designed, suffer the problem of having little true character development. Some of them feel like they are there simply because the character designers wanted to put in more of their creations - and in the end it just becomes awkward.
It gets a 2 simply because some of the character designs are cute, but this can't save it from sub-mediocrity.
If you can enjoy mindless looking at characters for no reason other than they look cute, you may find Tenshi no Shippou to be enjoyable. However, if you need a good plot in your anime, stay clear of this.

| There's very little in this anime that's worthy of note. Standard boring boy who gets surrounded by women through a magical twist of fate and proceeds to do nothing about it.
Unfortunately, I like it. It's cute, and amazingly, most(out of twelve...or is it thirteen?) of the female main characters manage to stand out. I also like the intro/theme song, despite it being equally horrendously bad in a critical light.
No bones about it, this anime is not one of the best, nor even very good. But maybe, like me, you'll like it anyway.

| What we have here is basically another run-of-the-mill harem series. Although it does take an unsual premise with the concept of deceased pets turned guardian angels, the concept isn't fleshed out and we are left wanting with only a mediocre piece of writing.

| This is pretty much a cute lighthearted anime. Lots of kawaii anime girls and a touching humorous story. It was neat how all the girls resembled their past life animals in one way or another. Recommended for those who want something light and fun to watch.

| I've expected a lot from this series since it reminded me Sister Princess (that I LOVE) and I wasn't disappointed. Cute and heart-warming but too short, this series is really enjoyable if you like the genre. I heard it was originally a game (if so, it wouldn't surprise me) and now, I'm going to see how the second season looks like.

| Kyaa~ I love Tenshi no Shippo! (Yes, I'm probably one of the only ones in North America... ^^;) It's cute and fluffy... good for a laugh and a smile! Too bad most people now-a-day are uptight about all anime series having "innovative and extrodinary" plotlines. C'mon guys, lighten up! Tenshi no Shippo is a lot of fun~

| Angel's Tail is the type of shounen romance series that you've seen before. Unlucky guy suddenly becomes surrounded by a bounty of cute girls. It does however have a rather unique catch in that all 12 of the girls are reincarnated animals. With this in mind a great deal of their character comes from the animal they were in their past life. The constantly hungry gerbil, the shy monkey, the curious cat, and of course the slow and thoughtful turtle and the impulsive rabbit that are constantly at war. With this little hook in place I had high hopes for the series, but sadly what should have been it's strong point was severely underused. The majority of the episodes content was forgettable, but at other times the character interaction is excellent. This key hook underplayed the show falls flat, and ultimately I can only recommend it for the hardcore bishoujo romance fans who simply need a new helping of girls.

| Overall, this isn't a bad anime, although one of the things that kinda annoyed me was the fact that the girls kept calling him goshyujin sama (master..."husband") one girl ok, but damn, all 12 over and over...that might get a bit annoying. The "plot" doesn't really unraveled til around maybe somewhere around ep 8 or so I believe, and the ending....is eh...damn I hate the way some anime ends at times cause it's so...so..."incomplete?" ^_^, the girls are cute, the 3 little angels are very cute ^_^ so are the others..but eh, Some reason, red hair girls tend to have the biggest crush or gets the guy in the end or so it seems, look at "To Heart" for example, but this is a bearable alright anime, Depending on who you are, you may or may not want to collect this, it's most likely worth at least 1 sitting. (always read the more from this review ^_^)

| nice for a 12 ep anime. 12 girls in one anime and all being kinda main characters is a bit much, but still good. of course, you got the unlucky man. and he gets 12 girls to live with, and no sexual tension at all. ah, the wonderful world of anime.
anyway, the end is a bit hokey, you'll wonder how in the hell did he end up like that. no he doesn't die. its not a bad watch. it has a nice, mellow ending song tho.

Later on it doesn't get better the "main" story is a weak one too The characters are plain stupid and I even hated the main character (incompetent fool). I don't recommend it unless you're a maid anime fan...

| The idea was very good, but it kind of went over killed with the pets. I mean come on 12. How old is he again? Does this mean each pet died in a year? Sadly enough their wasn't enough episodes to get much development, 12 episodes and 2 OVA's, as well as 12 pets. That doesn't equal much character development, since with this genre they usually introduce 1 person per episode. Great idea, but too many people and not enough episodes to make it stand out.
