| Yes! At last an anime where most of the characters are total bastards! It is quite similar to Green green, but regarding perversion, this goes further. It's not a hentai, though. It's more about toilet humour, psychedelic cross-dressing, small penises and a fair amount of boobs.
This anime had me laughing out loud several times per episode, which is rare. I give it the same fun rating as Photon!

| I've seen a lot of sick stuff in my life, but Ping Pong Club has got to be the grossest, most perverted, outright sick anime I've ever seen from The Full Monty to naked grandmothers to cross dressing guys humping each other straight out and so on and so forth. At first, I was severely turned off by this series with its ugly design style animation and gross humor - but after some time the characters and the style of humor grew on me. Really, don't give it up fully until at least around episode 8 of 26 ~ let it grow on you. Also... it is probably not recommended to watch this straight through.
Ping Pong Club may not have the strongest story progression, but it does have its share of interesting situations (imagine all you can do with all this weird dressing up, the possibilities are infinite). Furthermore, the lively cast of characters really make this series a lot more fun. Although the characters basically do variations of the same things in a lot of different, the balance between the normal characters with the sick and stinky ones just make up for quite the laugh.
Just give this a try sometime, it is definitely a no brainer but it is enjoyable nonetheless. Although, I definitely would not want to watch this again as novelty and surprise is about 90% of the enjoyment factor, it was fun the first time through. Hands down for the novelty factor and all the unique and original ideas - truly never saw this coming.

| Ike! Ina-chuu Takyuubu is like a B-grade movie except that it is 26 episodes long and in anime form. Saying that, doesn't it make it a drag to watch? Yes, certainly, during many parts of the anime, I was truly bored by it and the repetitive crude jokes. However, not every B-grade movie is horrid, and just like a couple of B-grade movies, there are some parts that can be enjoyed still. Mainly and sadly, these are their toilet jokes. They can still bring out a laugh or two out of you sometimes. Other than that, I don't see much value in this anime, except maybe that it brings out human tendency to want to see stupidity in others.

| Based on the first 4 out of 13 volumes of Minoru Furuya's manga, the anime adaptation of Ping Pong Club stays faithfull to the manga and in some cases turns even funnier. Now for an anime to surpass a manga in fun, and an extremely perverted and funny manga too, is quite an achievement.
I doubt I'll see any similar animated feature,except maybe comedy hentais or porn cartoons. It was one of the funniest animes I've seen and probably with this I've seen it all. The next step of extreme humour would involve sex and violence and thats not something the censors would allow that easily for a wider release.
Now to the particulars. Animation is following the manga and it succeeds quite well. The characters look as in the manga and are even better and funnier most of the times. Not all viewers might like that visual syle though, but if an anime's aim is to adapt a manga well, PPC succeeds in that respect. So they did pretty well for 1995. The OP and ED were extremely funny too. The scenes and characters are hilarious, thanks to the animation and the voice actors. Read the manga first to see how good it is. I've read the first 3 volumes scanlated.
The story follows the manga story closely, except that as in the manga there are no connected episodes. Just as the manga has many individual chapters, so does the anime have individual episodes. It doesnt follow the manga's order of events though. There are also fillers, but this is the only time I dont mind if an anime has fillers, because they're as good as the episodes based on the manga chapters.
The sound isnt anything special, apart from the very funny SFX. There's only one J-pop song repeated in every episode that gets annoying.
The characters (after the animation) make that anime truly memorable. Some reviewers said that the English dub was on par or better than the original. I agree with those who found the dub horrible, though English isnt my native language to know better.I watched the subtitled version and I have to say that all the characters (male and female) were extremely funny. I havent seen any similar trio of perverts. They'll perform all sorts of unimaginable deeds that will leave the viewers stunned. Even those who were used to such kind of comedy. I cant describe any scene. You have to see for yourselves.
So overall:
Initially I was hesitant to watch the series, since I didnt enjoy the manga that much. But after watching the first episodes and re-reading the manga I totally changed my opinion.
If you like comedy animes this is a must-watch. Though it may not be your style of comedy, but if you liked Beavis and Butthead or Southpark, give this a try too. Dont have to watch all the episodes because tastes and reactions vary. I finished it in two days and found it one of the funniest animes and very original in its way of presentation too.

| A raunchy, vulgar comedy that's good to watch when you just want to shut off your brain or to take a break from the other typical genres. The type of animes I watch and appreciate vary greatly and to have even this anime appeal to me speaks volumes.
Animation: 1995..speaks for itself
Sound: Nothing noteworthy at all.
Story: No real story at all. Just episodic scenarios.
Character: Love the characters. Every character is a departure from the cliched ones you find in the animes of recent. Maeno I suppose is the main character although the leader is Takeda. I like Takeda's character and would love to see a character like him as a main character in other animes as opposed to the usual formualic ones (characters ranging from outspoken, morally in-your-face righteous, cocky to coward until pushed to the very edge, timid, aloof, shy, etc). I even liked the romantic edge between him and Kyoko.
Value: Well it's a fun comedy if you can appreciate toilet humor.
Enjoyment: I enjoyed this for what it had to offer. This could've gone on for much longer than the 26 episodes that have been released (each episode contains 2 parts). It's too bad they didn't release more as I can see them going for 50+ episodes.

| this is my favorite anime next to Monster. This is the most sick disgusting comedy anime I have seen, yet I like it because I am like Mano and Izawa.. If you dont like this type of humor this is not for you. There is 26 episodes with two shorts in each. "WARNING" You see that there is old lady tit-licking, a penis serve, transvestites, groping, sexual harassment towad both females and occasional male, and a whole lot more stuuf which i'm not going to say about.
Animation - The animation is below average even considering the year, but it seems to be meant to do that. like the private areas they look not circumsized its funny. There isn't reallyany shading at all. It's also pretty sketchy in some areas. But its so fun to watch.
Sound - The two openings were really funny and catchy. Both endings were cool. The voices fit the characters more in english than in the original seiyuus. It's just that what they say in english is simply a lot funnier.
Story - There really is not much of a story. But it is continuing. Basically the story is that you see what happens to the characters throughout. The ping Pong Club story mostly takes place around school related activities wheather it would be in class or in their club room.
Characters - The charactes were awesome. There were 3 major perverts. A pretty boy. A semi-pervert guy that smells big time. And a team captain, There is also kyoko and Aizawa's assistant. There isn't really no character developement. The characters stick with the same personality throughout the series. heres not much developement but they're just too sick which is always fun I think.
Value - I love this anime. Its just like me. Sometimes I act like them.ok most of the time. It should be enjoyed by all those who love this type of comedy. Not for goodies. WARNING! old lady tits in this anime .. about a few times its funny

| Art and animation are O.K considering the series was made in '95. It certainly doesn't stand out as great in competition but considering the nature of this series, it's not a problem.
First op was hilarious but the second one, well it wasn't my piece of cake. Otherwise music doesn't stand out in any way, aside for few songs presented by the characters.. you'll see x). Seiyuus fit the personalities nice, can't complain - they give the characters the needed edge :)
Story - is there such thing? Not that it's a problem, since this is here all out for toilet humour. And it does great in it!
Characters.. Can't find good words to describe 'em. I just say they're great in many ways and will surely give you good laughs if you like this kind of humour.
Value & Enjoyment: If you ain't for toilet humour, you should leave this series alone. But it's a goldmine for those who appreciate it - almost a must get for your dvd collection. There just cant be enough of these series'! ;)

| If you like sick low crude perverted humor, then this is king! Take Beavis & Butthead to the next level and you got Ping Pong Club. No cheesy little Love Hina type jokes here. Their antics are so random and shocking you'll either run back to romantic "comedies" or laugh until your stomach cramps.
It is very well directed. I actually watched it without skipping around (unlike most anime these days). Artwork is perfect for the genre (can you imagine some bishounen as Beavis?)
If you like your comedy coarse and immature, get the DVD box set now!

| The most perverted comedy I have ever seen. The show has everything (protuding peckers, strange doctor examinations,.... you name it). THe show is about a Ping pong club that has 2 cross-dressing weirdos, a prettyboy, a complete pervert, a guy with a deadly stench, and the captain who is actually good at ping pong.

Definitely not your average "sports" anime and defnitely not for the feint hearted, but if you enjoy sick, twisted and completely perverse toilet humour, you will love this show!

| Ike! Ina-chuu Takkyuubu is not for everyone, and it's not known to be a serious one as well. However, it's humor goes way up to point where toilet humor and perverted jokes goes to extreme measures, and doing it at a repetitive moments where you could be finding yourself wondering why these oddballs find themselves with no goal or intention of being good players. The characters, who are Maeno, Izawa and Tanaka, what can I say about them; except I found them very disturbing who give no second thoughts of doing their mischievous deeds. Describing them funny would be an understatement for these guys. I do feel sorry for Tanabe though, since he doesn't seem to be the type of person to create havoc like the other three, and his stench. Takeda, who is the leader seems the typical "let's do your best" kind of guy. And lady’s man Kinoshita, who I find questionable about his love life. The girls are cute, yet unusually clueless when hanging around with the gang most of the time. And many of the side characters were an added bonus to boost up the humorous value, which was done pretty good. Most of the music was all humor in the process, and Maeno’s song was a simply hilarious during the middle of the series. Animation was between average and mostly good. Even though the animation was vulgar with the some of the jokes, it did wonders on how they can put so much tasteless gags in one episode. However, the animation didn’t seem to be the strength of the series. The voices are good for the characters that fit their personality. The story was based on the friendship of the club, and has a few conflicts with them or the club. I would’ve given it a higher value if it did had made some attempt to create more scenarios. It's fun for a cheap laugh, but don't expect too much from it, such as a great storyline, character development, or a lot of competitive matches on ping pong.

| Ping Pong Club is the most twisted and perverted comedy ever with the funniest characters and situations ever... and i'm not kidding... it can also be considered as a cornerstone of exagerated/ecchi/comedy/schoolkids animes that would follow, like Green Green and even Great Teacher Onizuka.
Animation:
The animation is not well mannered and without any cute intentions, even crappy... strange, after i called it that i still gave it a high grade, yes i did because that crappy animation gives it that funny feeling.. it just perfectly blends with the mood and the characters... I mean did you see their faces? the guys look like a bunch of loosers and perverts, and guess what, they really are like that.
Sound:
The voice acting is very good, and the Bg music is well blended with the comedy part... i've also noticed the Op themes wich are very very funny, just like Maeno's "Propeller" song
Story:
Well the bulk of the anime lyies in the story and characters... well it's not a plot driven anime, not the kind that focuses all it's power on a goal reached at the end, nope it's the kind of story that i like to call "lifestyle story" cose it shows the day to day routine and problems the characters get into...
Character:
..and belive me when you have two perverts with loud mouths and tons of energy who do nothing else but exagerated practichal jokes to other people like dressing-up-games, bullying, blackmail, stealing money, farting and all sorts of stupid plans (Maeno and Izawa.. they are one of the most original and best couples out there) ... then you have the sickest most twisted and perverted little quiet type of guy (Tanaka)... a big and really good-inside person that has the worts BO (Tanabe)... a Cassanova kinda guy (Kinoshita), two evil teachers with some psycho problems, a secret Loosers Club organization with the sole phurphose of making the hole school look bad so all the kids can be as stupid as the members of the secret club... and a love story between a counsciouss guy and a sadistic girl wich has some anger management problem (Takeda and Kyoko)... well what more could you want? some sado-masochism, cross-dressing, nudity and lots more.
Value and Enjoyement:
Well don't worry this isn't a hentai and it could never bee since the show is about everything it can be exept romance... but still i wouldn't recomand it to kids.. this is more of a "toilet comedy" like American Pie... but for a teenager with a sence of humour this is a real goldmine... and can be rewatched over and over again just for the humour.
It's just strange how few people have seen this one, well since the animation isn't good and the girls aren't really cute i guess that the bulk of anime viewers didn't try it, since they were looking for cute panthy shots and lots of cute girls falling in love with one spinless normal guy.. people can be soo shallow... lol but then again how can you call a guy that enjoyes this???
Good and Bad points:
+funniest show ever (in a carefree but twisted perverse way)
+some of the most original characters ever (like no other you have ever seen)
-bad animation (aldough i found it apropiate)
-has tons of offensive and grose out material for the sensitive ones (not that i cared)
Well i laughed soo hard at this one that i couldn't keep my ass on the chair and i developed some agonising abdominal pain.. i recomand thi to all the insensitive guys out there who wanna just laugh...

| Wenn man mich fragen würde was wohl der skurrilste Anime ist den ich jemals gesehen habe dann wäre meine Antwort ganz klar "Ping Pong Club"! Dieser Anime ist verrückt, pervers, obszön und absurd aber gleichzeitig zum wegschmeissen bis die Schwarte kracht. Der Humor und Slapstick ist mit nichts vergleichbar was mir bisher untergekommen ist und schwankt stets zwischen niveaulos und genial. Die Charaktere sind einzigartig kurios und heben den Unterhaltungspegel dieser Serie ins schier unendliche. Ihr Verhalten und ihre Charakteristik lässt einen kaum zum Kopfschütteln kommen und erntet unzählige Lachsalven. Allerdings ist dieser Anime nicht für Jedermann da das Niveau des öfteren ins bodenlose herabsinkt und die Grenzen des guten Geschmacks ein ums andere mal mit heftigster Intensität gesprengt werden. Wer jedoch ein Fan von Comedy mit einer gehörigen Portion Toilettenhumor und auch sonst für jeden Scheiss zu haben ist kann sich diesem Anime nicht entziehen! Ich für meinen Teil habe mich königlich amüsiert und bin so froh darüber ein Fan dieser Art von Humor zu sein wie schon lange nicht mehr :]

| This anime is unreal! It's not the best looking show, but its unusual visual style and its ridiculous jokes really are something to see! There's nothing that comes even close to this kind of shameless hilarity. If you thought Green Green was perverted and had some really sick characters you may be surprised that they are quite normal compared to some of the guys (and girls ;)) here.
If it wasn't done right Ping Pong Club would have been absolute crap, but as it is it stays right on the comfy line between tastelessness and good parody. If you enjoy such outrageous humour you'll get some great laughs!

| Ping Pong Club is the one of the best comedy, ecchi series ever made...There is no series like this one...each ep is filled with humor and perverted pranks...PPC consist of little romance..but too bad there wasn't more romance in it though...the songs, opening scene, and ending scene is totally unique...This series is an absolute have to watch series..

| The funniest comedy/ecchi series ever made, funnier than any other animes i've seen.Golden Boy or Excel Saga or Jungle wa itusmo hale nochi guu has no competition against it. Without much contributed to this plain storyline, every epi is filled with outrageously funny/ecchi scenes and jokes. You will find some characters that you will never find similarly in any other animes, like Maeno.It is a love-it-or-hate-it anime. If you dont mind massive amount of inferior and obscene jokes and scenes, this one would be ur king of comedy. It also has a nice opening song and an ending song.MAKE SURE YOU NEVER WATCH IT DURING YOUR DINING TIME!!
