| Hehe Pretty Interesting Manga. I picked this manga up about a week ago when i was bored and was manged to able to finish it within 2 days. Its pretty cool, Id have to say that this is a manga thats not easy to forget. Its an almost perfect blend of shonen and romance comics.

| It's like no other manga that I've ever read. The story developement isn't that great, and it gets a bit boring after awhile. However, the characters lively animated and it's a lol manga. Not only that, but the author has an amazing talent to turn serious things into ridiculous, random things. I.e; an extremley powerful rival from China is named, "Pantyhosed Taro."

| For a manga which has been published a long time ago, for it to still be coming out has in the past made me question just why this isn't more popular in print, but with the internet and the scanlations and translations of a few people for free, coupled with the fact that this is a comedy and not an action or epic series. So, when asked weather they should download this series or weather they should buy it, I really find I can't asnwer the question. I will say it's definitely worth the read either way, this is considered a classic by the manga community, and with good reason (You can also see this in the pure number of reviews you see for this manga on this site). I would seriously consider this one of the most enjoyable series I have read, though being a dedicated fan of supporting the author I have to wait untill volume 36 comes out before the series ends here in america.
Takahashi has always focused on drama in her works, and this is no exception. You find the drama to be overshadowed by the humorous elements in this series, which is a good thing for this manga. She is also known for being long winded, and this series is 38 volumes I believe.

| This is the first work of R. Takahashi I read. Now I know why Ranma is considered a classic. I'll try to read her other two main works (Ikkoku, Inuyasha, Yatsura) as soon as I can.
I read the first 16 volumes by Viz and the rest till volume 38 scanlated by the Ranma Project. Considering they had to process over 4000 pages in less than a year it is a feat that the scanlated manga was as enjoyable as the official manga by Viz and even the SFX were translated.
If a manga that lasts 38 volumes is read within 3 days without a single volume of boredom, it shows that this title is of the most enjoyable in the manga industry. I havent watched the anime yet. The manga suffices.
Though the design is very simplistic for such kind of story it is the most appropriate one. It conveys the humour and jokes quite well. Though the jokes werent that funny to laugh out loud, they were that kind of jokes that keep the reader hooked till the last volume.
Since I didnt know much about the plot I was surprised that there were so many battles taking place and very funny ones too. Ranma has one of the funniest battles I've read so far.
The story, though repetitive (many characters reappear as well as an archvillain every 5 volumes or so), it never gets boring except a couple of chapters, especially some short side-stories. But they're like a drop in the ocean. Overall enjoyment is very high. The ending was also nice though not what I expected.
All the characters were excellent for comedy. Ranma changing from man to woman in the most inappropriate moments, as well as the addition of other characters with the same fate as him (some are even funnier than him) make a manga that will not leave the readers dissapointed. There are some romantic moments too, but they serve mostly for comedy. Especially the competition with Nabiki and a guy as to who will spend the least money on a date was very well developed. In the initial volumes there are some of the weirdest battles one could imagine, like an ice-skating battle, cheerleader battle, money spending battle etc. Then there are Ranma's lovers (for both his male and female form and some of them are even homosexual) and eachone tries to have Ranma for him/herself. Romance couldnt be funnier.
After the middle battles turn more serious, though never too violent, but the fun remains there too. Generally Ranma is one of the most inventive titles when it comes to battles.
Overall Ranma is one of the best mangas around and is worth buying some volumes. A manga for all ages.

| Still a favorite of mine, something I can always read for a good laugh from time to time. A great one I highly enjoyed from the past, as well as a manga for being a decent comedy/drama genre.

| I watched every episode, and read every manga I could get my grubby little paws on. Still I crave its hilarious stories and its bad ass fight scenes.

| The boy who turns into a girl. Couldn't get better then that. xD It proves that girls can really be just as good as guys and I love that theme! It amazes me how weird it can get! A guy that turns into a pig, who gets lost all the time and a bunch of fiances! Ranma is a really cool guy and akane is an idol! This romance/action manga will really make you want to read more!

Ranma 1/2, it is a wonder to be in your collection. One of the finest works from Rumiko Takahashi.
If your continueing the anime tv series to the manga, you wont be disapointed with the differences and discover something new that was'nt in the tv series.
Note that ranma 1/2 manga is completed and does end. how? thats for you to find out.

| This is my favorite manga and what original brought my interest into manga and anime. I also like the fanfiction based on this and the many ideas that this series gives me. I sort of think of parts of it to be a horror filled comedy. What with the neko-ken, Ranma's mom's suicide pledge, putting cats on a person who is clearly terrified of cats, shampoo hunting Ranma with the intent to kill him, Ryoga's abuse of Ranma and Akane's honor, Amazon mind control, pretty much every character having a shitty past, and many other things. If this series was targeted at an older audience it could've been used to portray the gender diffrences within society.

| This is kind of the best manga i know. It's fun but got some serius moment to. Alittle to much nuddity sometimes but ecept that so is it very good.

| Definitely a ten in my book. I really think that the idea is weird, but it works. As most idiots would say: 1+ R0X0RZ /\/\Y B0X0RZ /\/00B. I'm not an idiot, so I'll simply say that it is a good manga for anime lovers and first timers alike.

| I've read seven volumes of this, and I don't get why is it supposed to be any good. Art is ugly, story is stupid, humor isn't funny, characters act weird. So on so on. Sucks.

| This is another weird story... A boy that turns into a girl? I mean, WTF? Right?
But, you'll definitely enjoy it if you decide to pick this one up. It's full of fun and weird techniques and stuff. EVERYONE in this anime is weird in some way, which makes the story oh, so much fun to read. I don't really care about it's romantic part cause it's pretty much cliché.

| Although I have not yet experienced the anime, I must say the manga was pretty fulfilling. Drawing was consistent in quality, plot contained interesting situations, and character relationships were in depth. The comedy tied in nicely with the story, along with the action and a bit of romance on the side. Overall, this manga series was quite memorable.
