Bamboo Blade is a simple manga revolving around a high school kendo club. It begins with an atypical wacky teacher who makes a bet with his old high school friend about whose dojo could be stronger. Of course, being totally blinded by the idea of free meals, this teacher has to figure out how to get 5 members when he only has 2.
In the end, he ends up gathering girls of different personalities. I don't know who his 5th member will be though... Anyway, we have an anti-social kendo expert, a delinquent type girl, an overly energetic girl and a pretty simple minded happy girl. Put them all together in one melting pot (mixed together by a wacko teacher) and we get a variety of interesting events.
Overall, this manga is pretty fun. The story hasn't really gone anywhere yet, but I am looking forward to the future events. I like the character designs and their personalities thus far. Although, I recommend waiting a little bit until more chapters are out for this more recent manga.
