This is a copycat of the "Saber Marionette" series.

The Steel Angels are sweet/kind/hot robot girls wich are actually designed for fighting (just like the saber marionettes)

Uber looser and undraged boy (just like Otaru) named Nakahito, finds and wakes up a hot robot-girl wich is very energetic, trouble maker and of course is in love of the main character (just like Lime) called Kurumi.
In the next 2 episodes Nakahito finds another 2 Steel Angels (what a coincidense just like in Saber Marionettes =O!).
One is Saki the kind one: small chest, smart, and sweet (just like cherry) and the last one is Karinka a rough, bad tempered and with a stong personallity
(just like Bloodberry, who would have guessed? O.o)

The only difference between this characters and the ones in Saber Marionettes, is that Saki (wich would be Cherry in the Sabers) is in love with Kurumi... Yes its a lesbian robot.

Thats it, if u liked the sabers, do yoursef a favor and dont watch this anime.

Steel Angel Kurumi is a harem-comedy about warrior mechs who fall in love with who ever wakes them with a kiss. Sound cheesy? Well, it is, but lots of adult humor and a generally upbeat theme kept me watching. If you don't mind some fluff, and want to have a laugh or two; then you should consider trying this anime out.

Ecchi, magical girl, lots of humor, drama, action, oh yeah, and romance too!

This anime is lighthearted and a fun diversion. It is cute. The later part of the series actually has a serious side, which surprised me. All in all, this was like eating popcorn - light, salty, not too filling, and fun. Definitely ecchi and lots of fanservice.

Don't look for deep plots here. Character development is there. This isn't a masterpiece, but I enjoyed watching it. Actually I enjoyed it a lot. If you don't like lighthearted ecchi fun, you may not like it. But if you aren't too critical, and you like bright vibrant characters, indestructable ecchi superhero girls, and some kawaii (maybe overly kawaii) dialogue and cutesy stuff, with some explosions and fighting thrown in, this is for you.

An android(Kurumi) is accidently activated by a young boy, thus making him her master, and the object of her undying affections. That boy is Nakahito(11yrs old),and it would certainly prove to be a day that would change his life forever...but would it be for better?or worse?

It had a promising beginning but fell apart pretty soon. The romance was hardly believable, since the main character was too young for that role. In fact, the main character wasn't interested in Kurumi's affections at all and it feels forced when Kurumi sticks to him like glue for no apparent reason (although they try to explain it away with the fact that the boy was the one who activated her)

The comedy fell short and wasn't humorous at all, unless you could live with sight gags alone and I mean...lots of them. The show tries to be cute with SD and that's pretty much it.

With such short episodes, the characters were very underdeveloped and you could care less what happens to them.

There are tons of better anime out there, don't waste your time on this.

Well, I liked it, despite its flaws. The whole point of the series - love can conquer anything - can get lost in places. The setting is supposed to be pre World War II Japan; however, there's not much historical accuracy here.
A young onmyou mysic, Nakahito, finds an experimental robot from the future which contains a special heart that has an angel and a demon inside. He activates this android, named Kurumi, by kissing her. They go on a series of adventures ending up with Kurumi unintentionally destroying a floating city.

This anime is shallow and is a typical harem anime for adolescent boys. I had to force myself to watch this series. One reason I watched this to the end was one of my favourite voice actress was playing Kurumi. And yes she also says "desu" in the other anime series too. By the way, "desu" doesn't mean anything, just something to make Kurumi cuter. ^_^

I really didn't feel anything for this anime until episode 15 and on. It sort of grew on me, an acquired taste.

Overall an average harem anime with lots of nudity for adolescent boys with a below average story and so on. Watch this if you have nothing else to watch. If there was a kawaii category, I would give it a 10. ^-^

hey, i love the animation but the story sucks. i don't know why people enjoy this series. this anime is on the top of my worst animes list. it just another harem anime that has weak plot development and is very cliche. i seen better ones than this. the story does get a little interesting near the end because you would never expect that to happen. but i still wouldn't recommend this series to anyone.

At first glance Steel Angel Kurumi appears to be a direct rip-off of Saber Marionette J (Harem type anime with ultra cute mechanised dolls!), but there is enough originality in this show for it to stand out on it's own.

It's a fun anime, filled with vibrant characters, plenty of humour and a sweet, but wholey predictable ending!

This was a perfect anime in my opinion. i almost wasnt even gona check out this anime due to the low score it got, but im glad i did. Steel angel kurumi is alot like mahoromatic, exept with a little more romance and action. i cant belive people are rateing it so low, im guessing some of these people just watched the first 1 or 2 episodes and said screw it, then wrote the review. The animation is perfect and really cute at times, it never seemed cheap and recycled. the opening and ending songs were extreamly addicting and for some reason the opening song reminded me of love hina's. I love all of the characters, they all had very unique personalities and desires, saki's being the most interesting. There was also a fair bit of nudity wich i think really added to the overall feel of the anime. some may say the nudity was purely "fan service", but i think it gave the anime a more mature feeling. overall, i really enjoyed Steel angel kurumi and highly recomend it. If you liked anime's like Chobits, mahoromatic, midori no hibi and hand maid may, then you wont want to miss Steel angel kurumi.

Steel Angel Kurumi feels like kind of like watching "baby's first echii". The humor and subtext is pretty adult, but the main part of the show feels like it was made for kids. That's not to say that it's terrible, just somewhat bland and childish. There are parts that I really like, and a few golden moments, worth remembering, but overall I have seen 14 episodes and I am not going to make any particular effort to finish this series; it just isn't that interesting. It's good enough that I would watch it, if it just came on my t.v. when I felt like watching it, but not good enough for me to make it worth my trouble to actually try to see more. If you've only seen the first couple of episodes, it gets better as more of the charactors are added, but it doesn't get that much better. At 12 minuites an episode including intro and outro, it's the sort of thing that I would love to see them squeeze into a commercial slot, but which I wouldn't be particularly excited about seeing at any other time (unless I was really hard up for some anime; hey I'm a junkie.)

This is what I consider the corner stone in "average" anime for its genre (a bunch of robot girls one male character). It borrowed from every other anime in its genres, loaded it up with anime cliches, tacked on an "alright" main plot and the result was an anime thats pretty much average at everything but didn't (atleast for me) really shine in anything. Its certaintly not bad, I don't regret the time I spent watching it, but there are plenty of other animes of the same genre that I would recommend first before I'd recommend this one. I'd wager that if this was the first anime I'd seen of this genre my scores would have been higher.

I feel dirty. I am a less clean person than I ever was for having watched this. Another one of the long parade of sweaty "harem animes" (a term I must thank a prior reviewer for exposing me to), Steel Angel Kurumi is raw, throbbing, veiny fanservice in the thin guise of an action anime. And oh boy, it services more fans than Madonna, with half the artistic integrity.

I enjoyed this anime a lot, but it was one of the first I had seen so it might just be that it holds something special. Kurumi is a very lovable character, kitten-like cute at times, so adorable its annoying.
Its a pretty good love story, with some deacent action scenes, suspence, and fan service. The 'ending' is even a good one, although they did 3 encore episodes after the ending, those episodes may have been the best in the series. I would think they should have been called ova's.

Although very short per episode and has a very simplified story, this is one of the anime that surprises me in terms of its quality and I've enjoyed it very much.

Although it has a story, something about fighting the bad guys and such, don't expect too much depth until the end of it. What is good though is that the presentation of the story is very well done and doesn't put any twist and turns that confuses the viewers. The characters are a bit generic and the steel angels can be put in a lot more depth.

Overall a really funny with some ecchi, but it is very enjoyable if you want to watch some anime that doesn't require a lot of thinking.

For pre-digital anime, the animation is okay but more clarity could have been acheieved. The soundtrack is a bit too sugary at times but it's meant to be fun and happy, so I can take it. What lets it down is that you pretty much know what is going to happen, and that the male characters are pretty much useless. Nakahito has no redeeming qualities whatsoeer, that army general is a sick perv, and the rest are like little pawns. Sad.

It's nto something I imagine to watching again anytime soon, but I don't regret watching it. And it's made me realise that the Please Teacher and Chobits animes, amongst others in digital era, have ripped off what Kurumi did in the pre-digital era. Honestly, if you can't say that Mizuho and Kurumi are very alike in personality, beahviour and looks, ditto Saki and Koishi, then you're dreaming. Also, the same jokes from here wound up in Chobits a lot.

This was clearly made in mind for teen boys, so let them have their fun while they can. It's definitely not the worst thing ever made.

Either I'm finally getting used to harem animes or this was better than the others I've seen of the genre. This was just too average. There is nothing exceptional about this anime which has a predictable plot (alongwith being bad) and bland totally cliched characters. Kurumi is extremely annoying when she says "desu" (whatever that means) at the end of EVERY SINGLE SENTENCE... I dont know if thats supposed to be cute or not but I wanted to shoot her everytime she did that (which was most of the time).

The religious references thrown here and there are to give the idiotic plot some measure of meaning and we have reviewers like Olie (See 4 reviews below) making a thesis over its relationship with the three monotheistic Abrahamic faiths... THIS IS A HAREM ANIME WHAT THE HELL IS THAT GUY THINKING?????? Sorry I just had to say that in this review.

OK OK I know I should get back to discussing the show: I would say if you want some cuteness and fanservice and see some girls in outrageous maid outfits kick each others ass then this is for you. It couldve been more funny but towards the end starts taking itself too seriously. There is scarcely any comedy and the only funny episodes were the last 4 extra episodes that were meant as a closure for the show.

Conclusion: Toooooo average.. nothing stands out!

A pretty average series. Another one of those Cute girls end up around dorky teenage kid story. One thing that bothered me about this somewhat Harem story though is that Kurumi seemed to be well... too old (looks wise) for Nakahito who just seems too young to me. Throughout the series I just couldn't get that out of my head, and maybe it took some of the enjoyment away for me (much like the same way this did with Please Save My Earth for me). Anyways the series has a pretty good cast, good animation, cute girls, some interesting fights and it's not too long.

For me this was a very average anime, nothing too redeeming and nothing too bad but with the vast amounts of robot-human love anime, this is one of the better ones.

Generally this anime was very much filler and the episodes were kept short and sweet (each about 10 minutes long). I did enjoy this anime, because of the little bits of injected humour placed around the series that i couldn't help but smile or laugh a bit.

However, this series suffers from a very annoying protagonist, Kurumi, she is a strong Steel Angel with a pretty well developed background but her personality anoyed me quite a lot. Each sentence she finished, she always said '..-desu' and her voice just made me cringe. Other characters were ok, (Saki being my fave) but not as developed as the main character.

For an action series (according to animenfo) it either sucked it was average at best. For a Comedy, it worked as there were the cute little animations and subtle amounts of humour. For a romance, in places it worked while it didn't in some other places, apart from a few scenes there was no forward contribution of the relationship from Nakahito himself, which was dissapointing.

Overall, average anime,
6/10
Grade: C
