| Bardok The Father of Goku is not the best movie in the world but its a guranteed satisfactory movie. The goods things about this movie is that it shows you how goku got to earth and who his father really is. It shows a couple of vinnet stories of Vegeta's childhood and it shows how frieza destroys the planet vegeta. This movie basically is the right one to see when your watching the saiyan to frieza saga.

| Another piece of Dragon Ball Z dribble to entertain the masses of easily dupable Melee-Free-For-All loving men, women, and children that follow the legacies of the DBZ Sagas.
Why do I say that you ask? Allow me to tell you why.
The storyline of just about EVERY Dragonball Z movie, or Season Episode, contains this seemingly ever-working mix of content:
1) Fight Bad Guy.
2) Lose
3) Get stronger
4) Learn some new super move, or gain more power seemingly out of absolutely nowhere
5) Fight Bad Guy again.
6) Win.

| This is a great movie, it explains a lot about the saiyan race, how it got destroyed. Excellent, and very original. It also shows Nappa... with hair.

| Good to watch if you are into the history of DBZ, but that's about it. It's hard to get into characters when you know what will happen to them. With all due respect to those that think otherwise, the Trunks Special is vastly superior, especially as far as the story goes.

| This subplot is spectacular. I think its the only movie that fits into the series.
The story was really well done, very relevant to the TV series and perfectly complementing the Freiza saga. It explains the story behind Freiza's fear of Saiyans and what really happened to the Saiyan race. It was amazing to see this connecting to the TV series in Goku turning into Super Saiyan and kicking some serious ass.
Movie specials which act as prequels to Anime TV series are usually all good, and this is just another one which shows that history is not always boring.
This is by far the best DBZ movie there is. The others also full of action but have no story.

| A good movie for fans of DBZ that gives an interesting back-story to Goku. The fights are nothing special, which is a big factor since this IS Dragonball we're talking about. I would have liked to see more of the other Saiyan characters that Bardock worked with though.

| I liked it.This one really gives you a good idea about what went down with Frieza and the sayiajins.A real good movie,and very emotional at some points.This is another one of those DBZ OVAs\Specials that makes the TV show look alot better than what it really is.

| Let me just say first off that aside from this movie and the History of Trunks, all of the DBZ movies suck beyond what words can say. That being said, I liked this movie. The only thing I didn't like about it was the fight scenes. Like DBZ, it was nothing more than flailing arms & legs and energy blasts. This movie along with Trunks' movie are really the only Dragonball stuff out there in which you can find REAL character development. And they're the only 2 movies that actually link up with the TV show. While I advise you to stay away from the other DBZ movies, I think you should see this title.

| IMO das bessere Special der 2. Es war ganz interressant zu erfahren was es mit Gokus Vater auf sich hatte. Auch hier wird gute Action geboten die wie immer mit hohlem Gekloppe ausartet :)

| Because now we finally get to see the behind the scenes story of the destruction of Planet Vegeta this anime has more value than most of the other DBZ Movies. Although there were some things that didn't match with the series e.g. in the series we see bardock face Frieza while all his fellow saiyans are with him while in the movie they appear to be Frieza's henchmen who were chasing Bardock, this movie is one of the better.
