| Not bad but not great either. It's pretty hard to find this series and i'm sure not many people seen it. But doesn't mean it's suck. The story is pretty ok, used the same plot as we predicted excetly. Bad monster sealed for 500 some years then some brat release it in order to save his home town from the monster's aroma that attracts all the shitty low-classes monsters. At start when the Tora start to talk, we audiean know he is not smart and it gonna be another stupid monster. The jokes keep coming with some good action scenes when Ushio transform himself to be a beast slayer wideing his cool typoon. There's no real ending for this, the story goes on as we see Tora and Ushio help each other to beat the monsters and keep the peace in the town. Even though Tora still trying to eat Ushio everytime Ushio didn't payattention, but we all know he just joking around. It's was a fun series, worth the shot. Enjoy while it last. :D
BTW: Ep.11 was just a extra ep. They draw chars in mini-size modes and add some AMV for the series. Nice to have it as a collection, also the size story is funny. :D

| Old, and it shows. But when the main characters kick as much *** as Ushio and Tora do, nobody really cares about the other stuff to much =)
The story is nothing new. Demon gets sealed, boy releases said demon, demon is out to get revenge but eventualy turns good, yada yada. Actualy, without ushio and tora being there, this would have ended up really run of the mill, however, U and T have the ability to make any situation unpredictable. One stuck-up kid, his two damsel-in-distress friends, one monster with a bad attitude, and as many human-slicing, head-biting, nasty monsters as there is time to smash, stab, blow up, and exorcize.

| I very much fell in love with Ushio & Tora the first time I saw it over 5 years ago. When I saw the complete season 1 set at the local MediaPlay, I had to have it. I immediately set out to introduce my friends to it which resulted in an Ushio & Tora Marathon on one Saturday afternoon. It was time well spent, and we all enjoyed the series.

| Ushio & Tora ist ein toller Anime der mir sehr viel Spaß gemacht. Dieses OVA glänzt durch eine ordentliche Portion Action sowie einer Prise Humor die sich besonders dank Tora durch die gesamte Serie zieht. Die Story mag nicht sehr originell sein und auch der Verlauf gestaltet sich sehr episodisch, das hält Ushio & Tora aber nicht davon ab unterhaltsam zu sein denn in jeder Episode ist immer etwas los und Langeweile kommt nie auf. Tora ist ein absoluter Top-Charakter den man unweigerlich ins Herz schließt und auch der Rest des Casts ist sehr sympathisch. Es ist wirklich schade das dieses OVA mit nur 10 Episoden so kurz ausgefallen ist, so bleibt dem Zuschauer der weitere Verlauf der Serie (ohne den Manga) verborgen. Die 10 Eps vergingen wie im Flug und ich hätte mir ohne Probleme noch 50 weitere ansehen können, so hoch liegt der Spaßfaktor dieses Animes. Fazit: Ushio & Tora ist ein klasse Anime mit enormen Unterhaltungswert, nicht nur für Zwischendurch sondern immer wieder toll anzusehen.

| From the height of the oav boom came yet another series that would have been a tv series had it been made just three years later. Ushio and Tora is a generally good anime that tells a story that crosses the kind of horror/kawaii barrier that is often seen in series such as Jigouku Sensei Nube.
U&T, however, seems to have been something of a forgotten series, despite being pretty much to the same standard as other oavs of the time (Video Girl Ai, Ah My Goddess, Tenchi Muyo). The series' look is heavily stylised, which may put some people off, but that never stopped Tenchi Muyo getting a following. It is probably because the series burbles along without really hitting any high points in terms of its plot. Whatever the case, it deserves something of a resurrection today....
The interplay between the titular characters is one of those great hostile double acts from which comical horror, which this series tries to be, is made. And, even though he's a nasty brute most of the time, Tora really is quite an adorable demon. Well, I liked him. ;)
