I'm rating this anime the same as Natsume S1 as really its the same anime but newer stories. The difference between this one and the S1 is that the characters have progressed further in the anime and that newer characters are more towards the spirits and little from the human side.

You don't need to watch S1 in order to get into this anime, but it helps lay out foundation for the characters.
