| The first volume I bought of this series was the second one where Ash snuck a letter to Shorter through kissing Eiji. Since I have seen that part, I was hooked. It was my first shonen ai graphic novel I ever bought. I have to say I like all of the characters of the story (except for Dino). I kind of like/hate Arthur in the series. But my most favorite characters have to be Ash and Sing (I think they're the cutest guys.) I also like Shorter and Eiji. They are funny in their own ways (Shorter eating chicken and Eiji bandaging Ash's wounds.) I had read a site on the graphic novels and it said Ash had died in one of the volumes. Then I read he didn't. I can't wait to see what he does to Dino and Arthur. And if him and Sing will settle thir score (from volume 6. I also wonder if Yut Lung will get even as well with his brothers. But over all out of all the volumes I have, (I have seven of them) I think it is a great manga. It's one I'll still be reading for a long time.

| Banana Fish is basically a very strange shoujo manga. First of all, it doesn't look like shoujo - the story's all nicely tucked away in squares, there's hardly and girls in it and there's lots of violence, guns and drugs. On the other hand, there's suttle shounenai hints, lots of drama and likable boys. All of this is combined with the ugly world of child prostitution and humor at the same time. It's a really great and thrilling story.
