This is the first anime ever about soccer. I used to watch it when I was around 3-5 years old. This is a very enjoyable anime with all those supershots that characters did.
My biggest complaint is the lack of development in some characters. It's too much focused on Tsubasa himself. Tsubasa does this, then everyone is shocked, kind of cliché.

I know this one since i was a child, so i dont think i am surely objective, when reviewing it. Captain Tsubasa is surely not the best Anime to start with, as its a mass product. But it discussed many human relations on its storyline, aswell as some soccer aspects. What i really liked were the acrobatic ultra shots. Its absurd, but fun! ^^

A quite nice of an anime, as if we take into account that this anime is made quite a long time ago, this is quite like a good intake of soccer anime. The bad thing about this is the lack of character development, the character's mindset did not change much and he seem to have not matured as much as other soccer animes that are made around the same year. Nevertheless, this is still quite good.

Hmm... I'll admit I'm not a football (or soccer) fanatic, but I can stand a game. Now, one of the only good things about Captain Tsubasa is that it actually makes soccer a bit more interesting... even if it's only because of the weird acrobatics presented by the players.

Well this is one of my childhoos animes... and i have to say that at the time i really enjoyed it.

Shure the animation and sound aren't capable of standing up to the new animations... but it was quite an enjoyable show with all the exagerated: ball kicks where the ball turned into a bean shape due to the imense power shot, or how the ball managed to change it's flight path right in the middle of the air, and how they used to run 10 minutes to get to the enemy poast maybe time and space dilated back then;)), or the overall exageration of the hits, tragedy... it looked more like a life and death fight then a football game...

It had a various character crew... from the super talented hero, to the fat slow guy or the bullie with the killer canon shot due to the fact that he learn football by kicking garbage and bevarage cans on the streets(yeah he was really poor)...
Well it shur kept me watching.

Klassiker ;)
