As far as series related movies go, Tenchi seems to deliver some pretty good ones, but of the 3, this is my least favourite.
Unlike the 1st and 3rd movies, Daughter of Darkness feels more like an extended episode of the series (it has more of a Tenchi Muyo feel than Tenchi Universe), but this doesn't detract from my enjoyment at all.
It's a rather fun and sweet addition to the Tenchi franchise, just don't expect the same depth and emotion of the other 2 movies.

Mostly involved with the mysterious daughter who appeared claiming she is the daughter of Tenchi, and the girls, especially Ryoko and Ayeka, as usual aren't too happy to hear about it. The animation on this was also done nicely here, similar to the other movies as well. Yuzuha was this odd enemy, that seems to be conflict of the plot on using her for personal vengence with Yohsho, the grandfather of Tenchi. Even though the stroyline had a good mix between comedy/drama in this entire movie, it wasn't really thoroughly presentable for a development as the first movie had. But it is great and fun to watch for those who were familiar with the OVA.

Hmm.. They kinda make mistake on the number and story. If this is movie 2 then they should atleast show us a little bit of Mayuka in the last movie 3. But since that doesn't happen, movie 2 became a totally spinoff from Tenchi Universe.

The setting is great, and this time they go to comedy and romance side more than serious or worry(Ryoko always worry don't mind her). These new movies kinda ecchi, and I mean sexy almost sex scenes when Mayuka need to capture and transport tenchi. It was fun as always, many ppl running around yelling. I want to see more Mayuka when she grow up and such,... but I guess that's not possible. Well.. it was worth a while. Fun stuff. Tenchi.

While the movie by itself is quite entertaining, it just does not really fit in anywhere in either the Tenchi Universe or the OVA universe.

The ending in this movie does not really get continued on in any other series or movie, it makes this movie kind of left out and not hold much credit to the series. And the fact that adding another girl to Tenchi seems to be a bit saturating!

You can probably skip this movie and not miss anything at all, since there is very little character development and any story or questions does not carry over to other series what-so-ever.

This movie is probably for the hardcore Tenchi fans to be able to enjoy it.

Hmm... I did not enjoy this movie as much as I thought I would.

Characters - All the original characters are here and behave as they do normally. The new character, Mayuka, grated on my nerves. She makes herself totally unlikeable, and Ryoko (my favorite character) was right not to trust her.

Storyline - It seems Tenchi is always having kids! lol. Mayuka claims he is her father, which seems a boring revelation to me.

Watch this if you are heartily in love with Tenchi, but if only a moderate fan, like me, skip it. Watch the first or third movies, as they far surpass this bomb.

There are a couple of reasons why my marks are this low on the sound and enjoyment. Its not that there was a problem with the quality of Japanese voice actors or soundtrack, its the quality of the subtitles. I have the official copy, not a fansub or bun, and the subtitles stink. They are rotten to the core. This forced me to watch the movie with the English voice actors, which I despise. If you're going to watch this movie, look for the fansub.

It wasn't bad but could have been better. If you watch the ending credits, it makes it worth watching. No joke.

It's fine to be a flirt like Ryoko, but Tenchi's "daughter" crosses the line into just being a slut. Ok well, so she's being controlled, but still...

Of the three movies this one appealed to me the least. Without the Tenchi name and cast, it's a pretty lackluster movie, and it doesn't really add anything to the Tenchi world/timeline like the 1st and 3rd movies.

I liked this anime simply because, for a short while, the main focus was away from the constant whiny bickering between Ryoko and Ayeka and focused more on a new character, rather "The Problem"
Still has it's share of bickering though, like anything involving Tenchi
Also, like the other movies it doesn't fit with either the TV series or the OVA, since the lighthawk stuff comes up (OVA) and Kiyone is there (TV)

A definite stepback in all aspects compared to the first movie. This one sports a medicore story coupled with a pathetic vilain (who reminds me of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas). Luckily this anime was short, I can't help but wonder why a barely 50 minute anime is called "movie". O and if you haven't guessed by now I think this is the worst Tenchi movie.
