| Pretty good, I remembered watching this a long time ago and it was fairly decent with its story. The animation was really nice for its quality, slightly better than the previous versions. And seeing those parents of Tenchi was just so odd. At times you'd probably wouldn't hear about the mother and her life before Tenchi was even born. And the dad was unexpectedly more serious in the movie compared the original story during that time. I seemed to rememeber that he was good at drawing, which was something else that was added as part of the series earlier. In any case, it was decent movie that made itself a good drama/adventure type of film.

| Focus on Tenchi's mom and dad.
Story about Kain and character blend and connected very well. Kain the guy who no one ever heard of before is probably just creat for this but story about Tenchi's parent really match up with the original Tenchi universe. The snow, Tenchi's mom short life span and how Tenchi's father want to build the weird house that Tenchi currently live in.
Watch this if you seen Tenchi Universe and thought it was nice or ok anime.
P.S. Tenchi's mom is VERY HAWT.

| This is one of the best anime movies I've seen. Not only because Tenchi Muyo is actually one of my favorites, but also, the story was really good!

| Tenchi Muyo In Love, is actually much better then the title would indicate. For the first time Tenchi's mother is a central character in the movie. She is important in the OVA but she is much more prominent, actually being in this movie. This movie has a good mix of comedy and action. If you would like to know more read my review.

| This is the first of the three Tenchi movies. All of them follow the Tenchi Universe storyline, so if you only watched the OVA story, you might find the characters a bit out of place.
This movie has a very well written story, with well timed action and you get to know a bit better with regard to Tenchi's background!
But just like every other anime movie, the story lacks depth to expand the series as a whole, and there is very little character development.
If you are a Tenchi fan, this is certainly a must watch, but the is movie is still good enough to stand alone for the casual viewers.

| The best Tenchi movie, hands down. I saw this before I saw any of the Tenchi tv series and this is what made me want to watch more of it. The soundtrack is wonderful, the animation is excellent, the story and characters are great as always, and this movie has a very high re-watch value in my eyes. This is a movie for any fan of anime, Tenchi fan or no.

| I'm fond of the Tenchi universe, it's part of my anime past. Of course, this only makes me despise everything they've done with it since the original OAV. Fortunately, this movie is one of the few diamonds in the rough in the Tenchi Universe. Very nice, and you finally get to learn what happened to his mother.

| This was nice when i first watched it: Great plot (as apose to the other 2 movies,that is),but still,it suffers from "first movie plot" syndrom (inuyasha 1st movie,OMG movie and this movie = same main idea).The music was beutifull,and i watched this dubbed in english,so i cant comment on the VA (it sucks,tho not that much :P )
Anyway,this would only make sense to you of you watched any tenchi series (more 'universe' then 'muyo',if you ask me).Hmm...bla bla bla...the end

| This was the first anime movie I ever saw, and I have to say that without it, I might never have gotten into anime. Sure, I watched Sailor Moon, but realistically, that was not going to lead to other anime on its own. No, only when I stumbled upon this late one night on the Sci-Fi channel, did my interest in anime spark.
That having been said, its hard to rate this movie objectionally, but I'll try.

| This is the best of all the Tenchi movies, and to be quite honest, it is one of the better anime movies out there. Since it was the first movie, they gave the animation a pretty good overhaul with a pretty good plot and the same great characters to match. This is also one of those movies you can watch over and over again, especially if you have a girlfriend/boyfriend who likes anime, too.

| This is my favorite Tenchi movie out of the three Tenchi movies. Both the animation and music score are great. The story may not seem that great if the viewer is not into Tenchi but for fans its a very good movie because all the characters gets to play an important part in the movie. The movie is based off of the Tenchi Universe storyline but this movie can also be enjoyed if you have only seen the OVAs.

| If you like the Tenchi series you have to see this movie--the animation is stellar, even better than the OVAs, the story is compelling, and everyone gets at least a little screentime. This fits in after the Tenchi Universe timeline, but if you've only seen the OVAs there isn't too much different. You get to see how Tenchi's parents met, although Tenchi's dad in the past acts very little like his counterpart in the present. Tenchi's mom, Achika, has a really cool character also, and there are some good action sequences at the end. If you haven't seen any other Tenchi, this would probably not be that good, but if you have it's a must-buy.

| ok, i don't know any other tenchi stories, i havent seen tenchi muyo the OVA, but this movie wasnt a pleasure at all.
the story is very much like the back to the future movies and the characters werent interesting or well exposed.
if you like tenchi muyo, try it, if you don't, keep away from it.

| Anything Tenchi always makes for fun, I really like all the characters and i think Tenchi in general was dubbed pretty well, especially Ayeka.
This was one of the first anime's i had ever seen, i saw the dub on the Sci-Fi channel some years ago. For many years, when i thought of "anime" i thought of THIS movie. The multicolored hairstyles, the mostly female cast, the out-of-this-world sci-fi and outer space elements contrasted by the placid autumn in Tokyo...
Everything is just so vividly colorful, and this was what struck me the most about anime at the time. I knew nothing about the Tenchi series and yet I still enjoyed this movie very much.

| If you have seen the Tenchi Muyo OVA like I had before watching this (even though you should have seen the TV series (universe)) you will probably love this movie from the depth of your heart! If you appreciate love and kindness and a great mainplot to cry happy tears with...
It's so good I wanna se more! The music is so emotional! A very good movie! Problably one of the best ones I have ever seen! I loved the story and to get to see the same olf geezers again!
