| Moetan is a 13 episode ecchi anime released in 2007. It focuses on girls of a lolita nature, and therefore might not appear to be suitable for most viewers.
As an loli ecchi anime, the character designs in Moetan are excellent. Almost every character in the anime is created in the most adorable fashion, with the use of very well defined colours and very detailed animation. There are several scenes which are frequently reused in the anime, namely the magical girl transformation sequences, but those scenes will rarely become tiresome to rewatch. Overall, Moetan is a very pleasant anime to watch, especially for fans of the moe or loli genres.
The music and theme songs of Moetan fit in very well with the setting and genre of the anime, and the voice acting is carried out by a very high profile cast. However, English is a weakness for those Japanese voice actors and actresses, and that does somewhat damage the enjoyment of Moetan since it frequently contains dialogue in the English language. There are no highly memorable sound tracks in Moetan, but viewers who don't mind occasionally hearing English spoken with an incredibly heavy Japanese accent would nevertheless find Moetan to be a decent anime in terms of audio.
Moetan is a 12 episode anime, with an additional 13th episode on the DVD release. However, since Moetan is an anime with of an ecchi nature, it does not focus heavily on its storyline. There is some development, but it is mostly uninteresting. There are several genuinely good jokes within the anime, which adds some much needed variety, but still falls short of saving the storyline of the anime. Therefore, as expected, Moetan is not an anime to be watched for its storyline.
One of the best features in Moetan is its characters, who are absolutely adorable. Their actions, appearances, and dialogue are very childlike and innocent, complementing the anime excellently. When it comes to development, which is not an important aspect of the anime, Moetan is clearly lacking. Nevertheless, there is plenty of fan service and interesting dialogue, which is what an anime of this genre requires most.
Moetan is an anime with excellent presentation and fan service, as well as a super adorable cast of characters. This results in a moe loli ecchi anime of the highest quality, and is no doubt an excellent watch for fans of those genres. Viewers expecting a decent storyline or character development will mostly be disappointed, as will viewers looking for comedy.

| Moetan is a show that has constant lolis and constant fanservice. How did the fanservice for this anime turn out? Well, let's see. It's not that bad, but what Moetan lacks is a good plot and some good humor. Because the humor ran dry on episode three in my opinion.
The animations were excellent. Never an episode where the animations was lower than usual. Character designs are cute and loli for the girls and the guys were well drawn as well. Though the girls do blush a lot and there cheeks turn instant red when something embarassing happens. Example is when Nijihara Ink runs down the street and trips and shows her undies to the audience. Or during those magical girl transformation scenes when she turns into Pastel Ink.
The OP/ED were happy songs that added to the cuteness factor of this anime. Background music was fine and the voice actors were good enough. It's nice hearing Tamura Yukari's voice in another loli character, that's not the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha series. Because that series in my opinion is overrated and totally boring. But Moetan is only slighty better than Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. To check my score for Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Click on my username and click list all and then find it.
The story is almost nonexistent. Basically you have a girl named Nijihara Ink that is a magical girl that must save the english of the poorly failing kids of her town. While adding some random monsters in town that do nothing, except destory stuff. Just like Powerpuff Girls where the monsters always attack the town for no reason. Anyway, the story for only twelve episodes. Go into a whole bunch of boring episodes like when Nijihara Ink gets a cold, when she goes to a beach with her friends. Or just the fanservice episodes where they try and show as many body parts as they can with something blocking the unappropriate parts. Whatever.
The characters are okayish. They don't have any background past, except for Ink on episode eight or something. About a flying balloon or something. Everyone is just there to add to the loliness of the show, the magical girlness of the show, the fanservice of the show, or the english part of the show. And yes. Moetan does all four of these at the same time.
I watched most of Moetan raw an it wasn't that hard for me to understand. (I did take two years of Japanese) Moetan is something you can watch without english voice actors or subs. Because sometimes they'll even speak in English for you. Would I watch this again. No. The fanservice and the loliness of this show totally wears off after you've watched the show once. Do I think this show will come to America? No. Because of the total fanservice and loliness of the show might cause some problems here. *KodomonoJikan*
Overall, I can't really recommend Moetan for you. Moetan is somewhat of just a mindless brainless show and when you get to the boring episdoes. Moetan turns from mindless brainless show into a mindless brainless bore and will snooze you throughout. Except for the fanservice parts which kind of bothered me. Since I'm not a big fan of fanservice. I guess for people that are fans of lolis and fanservice. This show is meant for you and I bet you can probably understand it, even if you have no english subs.

| Moetan is the story of Ink, a young girl who is good at English and her desire to link up with a bishonen otaku. A perverted wizard from another dimension is sent to earth in the form of a duck, and he grants Ink magical power. Ink's rival meets a rival of the perverted wizard (who came over in the form of a cat) and grants Ink's rival magical power. Fighting ensues, along with lots of fanboy service.
