| This movie is a flop,period!Toei Animation decided to change several things from the manga with obvious consequences,ie,the story is a lot worse than in the manga or anime.
Why?
They just replaced one of the best characters in the franchise Jyuza the cloudman and the strongest among Nanto Goshasei for Fudo(another Nanto goshasei member) who was weaker than Jyuza and retired.
So in the beginning we have a 2 second battle between Shuren another weakling from nanto Goshasei against Raoh without any kind of decent explanation why he was trying to stop Raoh,meaning that we don't have a clear scenario why such things are happening like why there is a nanto Goshasei.
Plus,in the original story the only member who had the power to stop Raoh was Jyuza
that's the reason why other Nanto goshasei members including Fudo beg him to do it,however, the last general is the only one who convinces
Jyuza to fight against Raoh.
In this movie Jyuza is just ignored,meaning that there isn't Jyuza.
What's odd is the fact that in the anime the fight between Jyuza and raoh is perfect and accurate even better than in the manga
where things are quicker.
However,the same company Toei animation had in this movie the opportunity to show us one of the best fights (and character) with a modern style and animation,but instead they prefer to use Fudo as an heavy bag to show how nice is to see a fat man being spanked by Raoh.
Obviously, they think that this would bring more emotion due to his connection with kenshiro and raoh in the past.
However,what Souther is for Ken, Jyuza is for Raoh which shows how dumb are the persons behind these decisions.
