| Dojin Work is a decent anime if you have time to burn and appreciate the general/comedy genre. On the surface, this is quite the 'average' anime. The animation and plot is not bad, but nothing special either. However, I found this anime did have some comedic appeal and possesses its moments.
Some of the characters of this anime do shine while others don't as much. On a lazy weekend, an uneventful summer, or [fill-in-the-blank] it might be worth it to watch this anime. For myself, I had a day in which I had time to burn.
One thing to note, in my opinion, as an anime overall, Dojin Work beats like predecessor Comic Party.
However, if you intend to watch comedy, there might be superior animes, and comedy is all that this anime really offers other than the sentiment that 'otakus will always be otakus'. A good time-filler. Otherwise, watch a better rated comedy like Kyou no Go no Ni or Clannad.

| Doujin Work tells the success story of Najimi in the doujin-shi world, a degree student.
Doujinshi are quite numerous in Japan and some manage to become more than that (Haibane Renmei is based after a Doujinshi, so are the Daijinshi Force of Excel Saga), yet the genre more in demand is hentai and since Najimi's greed is not unrelated to her desire to hit the doujinshi market, she has to make "research" on perverted contents, which would trigger fun events (like her first erogame). There is no downside in an anime to pretty girls who get embarrassed by looking at sexual contents.
Doujin Work is not the first comedy/anime to rely on the strangeness of the otaku/manga readers world to use some quite easy but funny jokes. Still, there are some hilarious and original moments like the "yuri" joke of the first episode which was perfect. Besides, the synopsis is a perfect parody of shonen beginning situation. While the normal shonen hero would pursue a greater goal in an honorable job/occupation, Najimi wants to write perverted dojinshi for financial purposes. And as in any shonen, she would have a rival - Nidou san.
The character design is lovely, I liked the tie of Najimi or the beret of Tsuyuki. One downside however : characters always have the same clothes, despite the fact that they do not need to wear a uniform.
On one hand, animation is full of good ideas as the "pants" character, or the 2D-flip but on the other hand, animation itself scores from average to really bad (succession of nearly immobile frames) level depending of the episodes.
As in many parodies, characters fits stereotypes (lolicon, tsundere, midget, stalker, ...), but this contributes to some jokes. I'm especially fond of Tsuyuki (a doujinshi writer of rape stories !). In spite of looking mature and cold-hearted, she has kind of a child spirit - she is highly knowledgable in the hentai part and cannot help herself to pull pranks on the others and tricks them into amazing intrigues. And well, strongly-suggested yuri subtext and scenes makes her a perfect comedy character.
On a negative note, besides the animation, each episode only lasts ten minutes and someone who do not have an average knowledge of anime/manga can not understand half of the jokes and comical situations (for instance, tsundere, maid outfit, lolicon complex, yuri, costume cafe and others terms/situational jokes).
