Watched this anime due to boredom, and I must say I am i wish I found a better way to have spent that time. I might be jumping the gun on this one, but in all honesty I see a trend sprouting in this anime already. Prism Ark, like most other animes based on a game, will most likely fall flat on its face. Harsh as it may sound but from what I have seen, the anime has little potential of developing into anything more than a fanservice anime.
The first episode drops the viewer at somewhat near the end of the anime. (Weird ain't it?) Kinda hard to say I'm spoiling much since the first episode already expose you to what happens. Alright, now for some hard criticism. The animation in Prism Ark is rather mediocre at best. Sure it is bright and colorful fitting of a light-hearted action anime; however, by the looks of the character's designs, one can infer that little to no attention was made to details. Action sequences consist of flashy moves and unspectacular sword fights. Nothing to really thrill an action-seeking viewer.
The story is nothing in-depth nor interesting either. We have the bad guys of one kingdom seeking to rid its enemy's kingdom by seeking to kill the heir to the throne whom has been missing. I don't know about anyone else, but to me, that is a relatively recycled plot.
Characters leave a lot to be desired. We have our male protagonist who carry a past which is unknown to himself. The female protagonist who plays tough and hard to get, but eventually let her heart be won over by the male protagonist (or will be anyways). It's really nothing new if you really think about it. The characters just do not possess any traits that make them stand-out from what we've all seen before.
As earlier mentioned, I said the anime is a fanservice. Well to clarify, there is a lot of random panty flashing, exposure of cleavages, and the designs of the females themselves are pretty much eye-candy for male viewers. Then you have the male protagonist whom surrounded by a bunch of female companions. I'm a guy and even I find that excessive.
In conclusion, I would not recommend this anime unless you're really desperately bored out of your mind. There are better animes out there, don't waste your time. If you don't believe me, watch it for yourself. It's just plain boring with its unimaginative story, bland plot, and uninteresting cast of characters.
