ZNT2 continues the story of Louise and Saito as they find themselves caught up in a growing war. Marks a surprising reversal of mood, but it never feels like it is more than anything but a comedy.

Zero no Tsukaima season two was expected to continue the line of season one, but with high expectations it become a failure of the year.

The story continues right after the end of the first plot, and seems like nothing is changing in the beginning. AND that's the problem.

Animation of season two has no improvements, no changes were made. The lines the colours, the shadows, the light, the action and pace, and motion still the same. It is not bad, well you are used to it anyway.

The same goes for the sound, nothing extraordynary, nothing very specific, and no change. The voice actors are the same, and their is no difference in the speaking or dialogue, or effects.

If this would be all... I would like the second attempt of showing Louise's and Saito's adventure, but...

The story in this particular season was a pain in the neck. From the beginning, the war is on, but the heroes side now wins, Louise is now a magician of the void (whatever that is, OK I know what it is), and Saito is a formidable fighter, all is making to an nice animation, but... Everything is ruined by the authors themselves. The fighting is ruined, the atmosphere is ruined, the comic aspect is ruined, everything lacks the originality of the first season.

Above all elves, the main thing - the characters that were the powertool in the first season are messed.
Starting from Saito, from a nice and practical gay, who was always in the center of trouble - not from his fault, now he is more of a pervert looking for breasts and pants of girls. And not knowing why all the girls just love him starting from: Kirke, throe Siesta, and on Her highness Anrietta (or Henrietta) ending. Sick...
Louise on the other hand after realising that she loves him still treats him like a perverted dog (not mentioning that in the first season he was beaten with no reason, and it was always not his fault - that was funny), but now he deserves it.
A little plus goes for background heroes, but still it is not what I wished for.
And in the end there is that completely unneeded scene of some kind of marriage between main heroes in the last or prelast episode.

The value of this series, as a series, is less then average, I give quite normal grades, around 6, but if it wasn't a continue of the first one... If it was an independent series it could have been around 4.

I was not enjoying watching this it was rather a thing of honour, I end what I start. If you wish to see all of the series, with the third as well, and if one more is coming, then you must see this (unfortunately), but if you have a choice then go to a pub or on a date rather then watch this particular season.

This is one bizzare anime sequel, does not live up to the standards of S1. The first 4 eps were linear, then after that almost all of the eps which follow make little sense. Its like they skipped too much for the episodes and relied on what people think is true and continue from there. You will be frustrated a lot when viewing this anime.

After watching the first season and reading the reviews for this one, I was a bit uncertain about whether the characters and story premise I'd enjoyed so much would remain up to par. Especially when it came to the interaction of the level of comedy and story development between the two seasons. Yet it turned out better than I could have hoped!

All in all if you enjoyed the first season you're going to really enjoy this one.

The story picks up with greater direction yet still maintains its endearing comedy. In addition I think the music improved a good bit in this season. Though the ending song is a little up-beat seeming for where some episodes leave off, it can end up being something of a comedy relief after certain episodes if the story has grabbed you.

Speaking of which, the story is pretty good and serves to really help bring the characters along, while letting them still provide the comedy. We get to meet some new characters while seeing the background for others. The poignant ending had me tearing up and while I prefer a bit more of clean ending, the way this season finished leaves me with high hopes that a third season may be made.

This is not an anime for everyone. But, for those who like the genre and enjoyed the first series, its very enjoyable.

They cut down on the ecchi and focussed more on the story and the character development. Louise and Saito are back and with a grander story overall and their usual antics it was very very good.

There might not be a deep story, nor an intellectual challenging one. There might not be incredible fighting scenes which draw you to the point of your seat. But what it does do, is offer enjoyment. Just sit back and relax and dont think too hard. Allow yourself to be immersed in their world and laugh and cry and love them. If you are able to do that, its a fantastic anime.

This is the second part of Zero no Tsukaima. Basicly the continuation of the war that was being fought in season 1.

The animation is about the same. There was nothing improve in the second season. They continue to make their eyes in a weird manner. They added a couple more places in the world, but nothing that was that impressive. This the double moon looks pretty nice. :D

The sound was about the same. Nothing change. Some of the spells in season two sound very realistic in my opinion. Specially the fire spells. The OP was better than the first season, but I didn't like the ED. On some episodes it took the seriousness of the end of the episode with a goofy song. I didn't like that very much.

The story picks up from season 1 when they were having a war. In season two Saito and Louise actually explorer more into their love which makes it quite touching. Louise is still her clumpsy old self with her magic even though she had void magic. As for Saito, even though he had the Gandalrph rune in his arm and he has awesome abilities he can still be beaten by high rank officers. The story doesn't tell you much about this power of his. Only that he's a special or rare familiar trait. This kinda made me mad in not knowing what it is, who gave it to him, and for what purpose. Louise as a Void Mage she didn't do anythign special in this season. The last episode, however was very interresting and probably the best one yet. The end still leaves you with even MORE question that were left unaswered. Which could mean that there is a third season on the way.

Some new characters were introduce. They weren't that important to the plot. Some character development was made, but it was very rare. Saito and Louise did some nice improvement in the last episode. Some of the episodes were really tocuhing and could probably want to make you cry. ~_~

Season two was around the same as the season one. They both were really enjoyable and I would like to know what happens next. Hopefully there's a 3rd season on the way.
=D

A few months back, Zero No Tsukaima proved to one of the best 13 episode series which one could watch without using too much of their brain. The lead couple had good chemistry, the lead heroine was a cute loli-tsundere and the numbers of aesthetic looking girls were humongous. For a shonen demographic this was arguably manna dew from heaven. And so despite the warnings that the 2nd season was much more pro-plot and very light on humour - I took that as a good thing and started Zero no Tsukaima - Futatsuki no Kishi. Nothing could prepare me from the mediocrity that was to come.

This is much better than the first season !(Doesn't mean first season is bad!)
The animation had shown improvement so i will give it a 9 !
The new oping sg was great ! and the background music and sound effect had also improved, thus a 9 too !
About the story, well... one word, impeccable =D Very nice, brings tear to my eyes. (don be spoiler, go watch yrself)
There wasn;t much change in the character except for the protagonist(matured) so same as before, 8
The value i learned is to live yr life with dignity. And if someone asked me why am i fighting for, i can say" for those i loved"
I REALLY enjoyed this anime, hooked me so much i finished the 2nd season within 3 days, and the ending was just touching and delightful.

I SAY YES! to Zero no Tsukaima Second Season. It picks off straight from the first season, so if you didn't like the first season. Then that's too bad, because this season really isn't any different from the first season.

Animations are below average. Why? Because there the exact same thing as Zero from last year, so in one year there really was no improvement in animations. You still have your same character designs and same backgrounds, but nothing is really new new to this series.

I fell in love with the OP song, but I always fall in love with Zero's OP songs. The ED song is something Louise sings, but to me. It doesn't compare to the OP song. Voice acting is the same as last season, except the old characters don't get that much screen time which means they get less voice acting. And the new characters get a whole bunch of screen time, so they get a whole bunch of dialogue. Background music is same, except for that nice slow version of the OP song you get on the very last episode.

Story picks off where first season ended. And if I were to say how the story starts then I might spoil some things in the first season. So, let's say the story flows nicely, but then feels a little rushed at the end. And we don't even get to see Louise turn nice to Saito at the end. >_<. I wanted to see at least some LousiexSaito moments. Well, you do get one, but the anime totally ruins it by adding girls with big chests at the wrong moment.

Characters are the same as last season, with the addition of some new characters. The old character barely appear in the new season and you mostly get new characters in the anime all the time. Saito is still Saito, except he's more perverted than last season. And Louise is still Louise, always punishing Saito to the end.

In the end I really enjoyed Zero no Tsukaima and I hope they make a third season. I enjoyed it and I found it to be a good sequel to the original. Fans of the original will love this new season, because it's almost the same thing as last season.

While the first season was 60% fun, the second season exceeds on where the first season fell flat on (story progression), but in return, the fun value dropped. Picking up right away on where the first season left off, the second season continues with the overshadowing of an ongoing war and political turmoil while Louise and Saito are employed to dispatch the enemy, all the while developing relationships with his harem and digging deeper into the difference of class values.

The first season was quite fun - Saito pimping out in his new home, busty chicks left and right of him, and destroying all enemies that get in his way. In the second season, however, the story directing got in the way of all these fun factors, and a few of them were beginning to dull. What stayed the same? The same pimping skills, same predictability, same bratty villians, and the same annoying Louise who STILL can't appreciate her feelings to her pimp familiar even after 25 episodes. A side-plot involving a secondary character was, however interesting and tear-shedding it was, boring. I don't blame the author of the series - the animation adaption is a disappointment compared to the light novels, and J.C.STAFF will continue this streak into an inevitable 3rd season. At least we get to see the story animated!

The story progression is better here. The plot moves at a quick pace, even though the last episode felt a little rushed (but I consider it the best episode out of all the crap I had to fast-forward through). There was one episode that was similar to the pornography book episode in the first season that was annoying, but other than this throw-away episode, each episode actually had a significance to the plot. My favourite part of the series is still the harem half (especially when Saito increases it with his date with the Queen and later another character which appears in the last episode... in the 3rd season). As I've read the summaries to the light novels, they cut a few things left and right but still made it watchable (the Queen's scene had a few more lines that could have made it the best harem-focused episode of the entire series, but alas they'd rather show fanservice, or the lack of it). The story involving Agnes was quite the heart-tugger in the summaries, but it felt watered-down in animation. Simply put, this is a bad adaption to a decent light novel story.

ZnT 2 will probably disappoint a few people, but it's still a worthy sequel for any fan of the series (myself, of course, even with this low score). I'll wait for the 3rd season, because for now, Shana is back in SnS II!!!
