okay, so ive heard quite alot of bad thing about this anime, but since i like the artwork, i decide to give it a shot

the story revolve around Tsuwabuki and Sumomo. the setup is quite typical, where Tsuwabuki accidentally bump onto a strange man that carry alot of soft drink. Mistakenly switching his drink, Tsuwabuki drank the soft drink and turn into stuff animal

To turn himself into normal, he has to search for the 7 star drops with "stellar spineer" who happened to be Sumomo.

From there the story would be quite identical to the rest of mahou shoujo series, where they face new enemy in a race to collect the star drops. In case you are wondering, the star drops are nothing more than a drop of water and the stellar spinner have to use a type of magical spoon to capture it. There are no monsters and super beam kind of power.

To cut it short, the focus are more toward the progress of the romance. Sadly, the whole plot is a cliché, same goes to the ending, so there is nothing much to expect and you could probably guess what will happen next.

But, despite all that stereotype setting, i actually enjoy the show. The animation are fluid, clear and constant. The BGM are nice, although some are just repetition and remix of the actual tunes it still doesnt change the fact that the BGM is good. The characters are nothing to be complaint of, although Sumomo is a crybaby she will eventually change in later episode

Overall, in my opinion, this is the best mahou shoujo in year 2007. I admit its stereotype, but its lovely and charming. It has nice composition of bgm+art+characters and its not as chessy as other people claim it is

worth watching if you are fans of mahou shoujo series, but if you are not, then it might be abit hard to appreciate the series

Nanatsuiro Drops is a magical girl anime and I've gotten a little tired of these. Nanatsuiro Drops is what you would call a typical romance magical girl anime. But since it was only twelve episodes, I decided to follow the episodes though and sometimes I just wanted to fast forward the whole thing, but then again there was some charm in this anime that kept me through twelve episodes.

Animations are really pretty for a 2007 anime. I don't think there was a single episode where the animations dropped in quality. Character designs are great and backgrounds are colorful. Also everyone's hair is super shiny and the sky and the stars look really pretty. But they reuse some of the backgrounds are near the end of the anime they give way too many flashbacks.

OP was nice to hear and pleasant on the ears. But I couldn't stand the ED song at all. Character voices are annoying or dull, but that's okay. Because all you have to do is put the sound a little lower than you usual would and everything is fine. The background music I thought was good, because they used the game OP song for the background music near the end and I thought that was a good way to add some new background music to this series.

The story is so TYPICAL! I don't even want to write about it. Ok, so here we go. Boy meets girl and girl cries. Then somehow the boy drinks a magical drink and turns to a stuff animal and must help the girl collect seven magical drops with a SPOON! YES, A SPOON! Oh well, I didn't really care about the story and the romance felt kind of cheesy at moments. Whatever.

Characters are either annyoing or boring, but at least they looked nice. Tsuwabuki is your main male lead and his voice sounds utter boringness. And the fact that he is boring doesn't help at all. Then we have Akihime who cries over everything at the beginning, but gets a little better at the end. Everyone else is thrown into the anime to help the two characters get with each other. And do some lovey dovey things.

Nanatsuiro Drops starts off promising, but then kind of loses it and falls into the typical magical girl and cheesy romance section. I recommend this only if you're a die hard magical girl anime fan. (And I don't think there are that many out there) Anyway at least this was better than Magical Lyrical Nanoha, because that anime sucked in my opinion.

Thanks to Kedex for subbing the first part and Aquastar anime for subbing the last part.
