I think anyone who probably saw this title like me thought wtf is this an alternate ending ova….err why do this..i guess they are just milking a good series again….well surprisingly this little ova ACTUALLY brought some added clarity to the old series and ended up being a worth while watch…I know its surprising eh

Animation

I can’t really say much has changed here from the old series but in general it was decent. I mean if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. There is a minor opening sequence but its OK not really worth mentioning. Basically animation is standard.

Sound

Sound is just as standard as the animation, again nothing has really changed since the older series. The opening music is ok and all the characters sound more or less exactly the same as the older season so once again the sound is on a standard level.

Story

*WARNING - even thought its pretty clear to everyone what is going to happen in this ova beware of spoilers below!

Well lets say this series can start one episode BEFORE the final episode of the older series making it an alternate ending so to speak. Takayuki has decided to stay with Muzuki instead of Mitski so the story basically focuses on the start of their new life together and how Mitski’s depature has affected their lives.

Obviously we already know the main story of this anime from the previous series but what makes this ova differ is how you get a more in depth look at how things actually went down when Muzuki was in her coma from Takayuki & Mitski’s tormented perspectives, I have to say hearing them each tell things how they saw it gives you an even better dramatic feel to the older series and it also helps you to actually understand Takayuki more.

Apart from that the story shows how Takayuki & Muzuki’s fairytale ending has a few struggles to it. Sadly you also get to see Muzuki’s whiny younger sister again trying to hog some of the spotlight but even she is nicely put in her place which nicely helped the ova wrap up that annoying loose end.

Although this ova has a different ending than the actual series it actually makes you believe it could have went either way and this fact alone made the story a worth while addition.

Character

Basically this series is all about more character development and this is done really well. Don’t expect a re-hash of what you already saw from season one the characters have grow up and show their maturity which is refreshing and surprising. I was quite impressed at the kind of grown up attitude this ova has and every character just shows a lot more growth. It probably sounds like I’m exaggerating but its true.

Enjoyment

Believe me I was VERY sceptical about watching this but im glad I did because it was very enjoyable and it actually made a good series just a little bit better.

Value

I’m not sure how this little four episode ova will be distributed but it has reasonably high value especially if you’re a big fan of KGNE.

The bottom line is with this alternate ending the creators have really given some fans what they want CHOICE if you did’nt like the first ending you will appreciate this one, either way I’m surprised & impressed.

Occuring three years after Kimi ga Nozomu Eien, this OVA should be the only true OVA recognized (Akane Maniax did a terrible job). Consisting of out favorite four favorite characters: Takayuki, Haruka, Mizuki and Shinji and what has happened to them since the accident, however this is told more from Takayuki and Mizuki's perspective.

I only came to find out about this ova because for some reason I came across Hakane Maniax. I was so excited about this ova comming soon and I couldn't wait to see it. I thought there was going an alternative ending of some sort or something different that will change the story the way a lot of fans wanted it to end.

The animation was a bit different. The characters were drawn the same, however, there's something about the colors that is rather different. It's some what annoying cause they glow a little too much. Other than that the animation was basicly the same from the original anime.

The story takes places after Haruka can finally leave the hospital. It's weird cause it's a little bit different from the original story. She leaves the hospital in a completly different way. There's a promise that I didn't know about. The story is a little cute. Haruka and Takayuki spend time together going to different places and stuff. It's a little happy ova where everything seems to be going good and everything is happy. It's something really opposite to the original drama anime. Throughout the anime you can see that there's something wrong with Haruka. Something that is not right for some odd reason. This is where the drama comes into play again. The ending is probably the most dramtic part of this ova. It shocked me, but at the same time I kinda saw it comming. I felt the same emotions from the original series: Depression.

Since its only been one episode is kind of hard to give any points here. I would give it an 8 because of what I saw. One episode of this ova made me happy and depress and it was thanks to the characters.

I enjoyed the ova. It wasn't the best introduction to the little ova series, but it was worth the wait. If you like Kimi ga Nozomu Eien and would like to see something a little bit different I recommend to watch it. I can't wait for the second episode in 08. I will update this once I see the second episode.

It looks that this is an alternative ending. For some odd reason you can tell just by looking that it will not be a happy ending either. Only time will tell if the old ending will stick or we're going to be emotional hurted again with a dramatic ending.

This is the long-awaited Haruka's version of the KGNE storyline. I've really been looking forwards to this as I thought Takayuki should have gone with Haruka in the original KGNE :)

This is a four episode OVA supposedly telling Haruka's tale (i.e. you should already expect a certain ending). However, true to the KGNE style, they add in a few plot twists to convince you otherwise.

While it was indeed Haruka's storyline, it didn't quite live up to the expectation I had for it. Certain critical characters just didn't seem to be themselves. The animation and sound department didn't help much either. The characters look AND sound different.

I wouldn't expect much out of this OVA. In fact, the only thing to expect is the inevitable ending.
