This is a RECAP series. There is less than 30 minutes worth of new material here and that is all in the last episode. If you want to watch more of Shuffle, play the visual novel or something. Stay away from this (except for the last episode).

This series took parts of the original Shuffle and rearranged them by character storyline and then shuffled those. There are 10 summary episodes which don't feature anything interesting except possibly a new OP/ED.

Overall, this series fell steeply off of what could have been a very impressive follow up to the open-ended Shuffle series.

Based on first 4 episodes and the last one.

This is a big fucking recap, with only one episode of original material at the end. If you're a SHUFFLE! fan, just watch the last episode, because even the recaps won't evoke anything of the original series' mediocrity. (And yes, I am sort of a SHUFFLE! fan. Kaede <3.)

Firstly, the recaps are just recaps. The first episode is a character reintro, which sets the tone for the next 10 episodes to come. Kaede is first, and I don't know what crack the director was smoking, because his "original cut" had Kaede's dramatic flashbacks shown first. WHERE DID THE DRAMA GO? After a couple more episodes, there is absolutely no point into going on any further. I was SHUFFLE! free (thankfully) for a couple of weeks.

The last episode is no biggy. It's an extra for fanservice that is like the first episodes of the original series. It's like an extra OVA sorta thing that fans wait upon. I kinda liked it, but it's the same tastelessness nonetheless.

Anyways, Memories fails hard at bringing back the supposed "memories" of the better original series aired a year before. Treat it like a fan would an OVA. I recommend the 12th (last) episode for all SHUFFLE! fans.

Its a pity that the creators of Shuffle! didn't take advantage of Shuffle! Memories. They could have put fourth a lot of effort to make this a phenomenal sequel to a former mediocre series. More character development, more background, more enjoyment, and hopefully, depending how much you enjoy fan-service, more or less of that. I can imagine how discussion on the production of this series went:

"Hey lets make a sequel to our popular show Shuffle!"

"Well what would it be about? What extra plot-details could we add? Should we add any new characters?"

"..."

"Nah lets just re-hash a whole buttload of recap in the first 11 episodes and make the finale full of boobs and panties!"

Its a shame really. This sequel could have done Shuffle! much more justice if they just put forward a little effort. The amount of drama in the original series really changed my outlook on the series entirely, and they decided instead of adding relatively more plot and drama... its entirely (except for the last episode) recap with some new opening themes and endings.

You'd think Navel would've realized the reaction of the predecessor's fans. Shuffle! Memories is not a remake like Kanon 2006. Simply put, it was a waste of NAVEL's talent and budget.

Two words for Shuffle Memories: Fan Service. There are no other ways about it, Shuffle Memories, is not a sequel or an remake like Kanon 2006, it's simply a series clip show for the first 11 episodes and one "extra" fan service episode stuck to the end.

The animation is exactly the same as the first series, because they are various clips taken in the first one. The last episode... are just fan service with lots of boobies and semi-naked girls...

Sound is exactly the same as the first one also, but the slightly good thing is the character songs for each of the character episode. Not that they are particularly good, but at least it's something new that they actually put into the series.

There is not story except a recap of the original one, which I would think that if people are gonna watch this one, they would have already watched the first one anyways. As I said before, the last episode is fan service, where the story is designed to show as much "covered" boobies and in as many poses as possible.

Quite honestly, there really is no point in watching this series at all. Even if you are a fan of Shuffle, you'll be scratching your head wondering what they are doing here....
