| This anime has withstood the tests of time. I am not "being easy" on it thus I make a direct comparison with popular contemporary anime. I did have to update this review and lower some of the scores to keep it consistent. However: It has a catchy soundtrack and an interesting (though sometimes predictable) story. The concepts were truly groundbreaking and many have been reused in latter sci-fi (both anime, TV and film). I look forward to seeing more anime by Leiji Matsumoto. If you have not seen much retro anime or are not a big anime fan, this is not a good place to start.
