| Major 3rd season continues the baseball anime as Shigeno/Honda Goro joins high school baseball, starts his own team from scratch, and fights his greatest rival, Kaido. This season is full of great baseball games, blood and sweat, and tense moments. It also provides a great transition to Major 4th season, which I have high expectations for.
To be clear about this anime, Major is a shounen equivalent of sports animes. Unlike Hajime no Ippo, this anime relies more on adrenaline, rather than character development, humor, or story twists. That said, Major has its moments of humor, etc, but its greatest moments are those that involve Goro on the mound, pitching his 150 km/hr pitches.
In the beginning, Goro was an arrogant kid who believed that his fastball could defeat anything. However, in this season, he starts learning a little bit of humility. Although his personality never changes (he's still the excited boy from 1st season who loves baseball), he learns the strength of other players.
The storyline revolves around Goro trying to singlehandedly take on Kaido, the best high school baseball team, which recruits and brings all the best players together under one roof. He goes to an unknown school (that used to be all-girls) with no baseball team, recruits the few guys in some manner, and indirectly teaches them the joy of baseball. Meanwhile, Goro fights his lonely fight on the mound... but realizes that he has to trust his teammates too.
Okay, I really dont think I can 'analyze' this anime. Simply put, Major is a high-energy, high-adrenaline, exciting anime that is worth watching to the final second of the 78th episode.
