| Genshiken OVA continues the story of Genshiken 1. Here we have two new members in the Genshiken Society. We have a girl name Oguie who has a very strange point of view on otakus. She actually hates them except is on herself. Reason I have no idea. Very confusing. She hates homos though that's a fact. Or so she says. It is revealed that she goes to a yaoi convention. Very strange indeed especially the hair. I mean the other characters look like normal human beings except for her. Oh well it does bring character to the character. The other member was in Genshiken season 1. He tried to join but left but has come back. Reason? Just a normal perverted guy.
Now what was bad about this anime was the animation. When i saw it it was completely different from Genshiken. Personally i thought it didn't fit well in the Genshiken atmosphere. However what makes up for that is the comedy. Yeah really good ones this time. Especially in episode two. At the very end. Where Saki yells at Oguie's new clothes. "THAT ONE IS A FALIURE" Haha that one was really good.
The story i believe is just introducing the new characters into the Genshiken Society. Here the characters will have important roles in Genshiken 2. So I thought this was a pretty good set up between the seasons. So for those who don't watch this and watch Genshiken 2 first. They will say "hey who the heck are these new guys?" Well you need to watch this OVA to understand. Watching this anime will not disappoint you or waste your time.

| The Genshiken OVA continues its story right after the end of the first season of Genshiken. Although there's only 3 episodes, the OVA is quite important as it introduces another important character into the series.
The animation is much more fluid and smooth than the TV series, while maintaining its unique art style. The setting having change at all as it is still at the same university. The sound is still top notch with the same voice cast, while there are new theme songs just for the OVA, it has retain a very similar style as the TV series.
The story is the important part to the OVA. It introduces another character, Oguie, into the series, as in the manga, she'll play a major role to the series. Here we will see an introduction to her character in the OVA, but it would be better if we get to see more explained.
If you have watched the first season in Genshiken, then you simply must watch the OVA as it will serves as the bridge between the first and the second season. Unlike other series, the OVA is not for stupid filler episodes but actually did quite well in improving the overall storyline.
