Choharu Sakuraba's Kyo no go no ni is comprised of 20 five-min. stories that were collected into 4 OVA ep. This format can also be found in the 2002 comedy hit Azumanga Daioh. the story revolves mostly on Ryota and his interactions w/ the girls. stories range from puberty developments, few ecchi scenes to pure sillines.

Kyou no Go no Ni is a basically a time waster anime which doesn't have much substance. It is too short to leave any sort of impact on its viewers. There is not much of a story to speak of and while the characters are cute, most of them do not have too long a screentime to give us a deep impression.
There are much better schoollife anime out there and ecchi too. This is just a rather lame production which I do not know what its purpose is at all.

It's what I'd class as a slightly risque anime, with questionable situations for 11 year olds, but at the same time it's a little sweet and a little funny.
Watch it the once and then forget about it *lol*

I'm not really sure what perturbs me the most about this series: the fact that it's intended to be a comedic, slice of life series whose jokes come across as weak and forcefully contrived (most but certainly not all), or that it tries so hard to align to its ecchi description that it forgets to identify and develop its characters and comes across as completely unrealistic. I haven't encountered any fifth graders who act in such a perverse manner, and this series dares to call itself slice of life....no, it just doesn't cut it.

To be a bit more objective, let's take this series out of the realistic terminology and just explore it as an episodic OVA. I will admit there are some cute senarios in this series (for example, the story when Ryota almost gets tricked into a stolen kiss or when one of the girls uses his finger as a biting mechanism to ease the pain of her baby tooth), but the ecchi situations (the milk spilling incident and the episode where one of the girls obsesses a bit about her weight) are just too much for the depicted set of characters, and it seems rather forced. Azumanga Daioh did a better job with it's humor than this terribly weak comedy, with overall mediocre characterization (the only signification is that their names are typed out for you to see once...that's it...and they are not properly developed for you to care about what happens to them) and rather weak animation compared to its peers.

The only redeeming factor for me was the nice ending theme. It's a series that I would recommend staying away from; I can't say I hated it, but it's just not a quality series and not worth the hour spent to watch.

this 4 ep 30 min ova is made of short stories in it which is directly to the point. It shows either comedy or ecchi, but it works.

When I saw that this anime called "Kyo no Go no Ni" didn't have any reviews and that I knew where to get the fansub of the anime I decided that it was up to me to take time out of my not so busy schedule of today and watch this and then review this.

Ok I really don't know why anyone hasn't reviewed this anime yet because quite frankly its really not bad. I mean its funny ina way that is somewhat unique about it, I don't know if its because the chatracters' are in the fifth grade of Elementary school, well yea it is becausde of that. Ok, I think all of you should remember how you guy s were in the the elementary school year grades, "ok you do, that is great". Take some of the common activities you did like say you and your buddies bouncing a bouncy ball to see who could get it the highest. But say if that bouncy ball so happens to bounce up a girls' dress causing the dress to go up and shows panties well yea exactly.

Animation -
The animation was not bad at all it was a bit above for the year of 2006. The character design is not your average same stle in my opinion but its a style that a few use. its pretty good but not the best. The color selection you see while watching it has lots of different colors with some good shading use to help add to the tints and vibrant colors. Good for a 2 episode OVA.

Sound -
The sound catagory wasnt bad yet it wasn't the greatest just average. The opening theme with the lyrics went along with it good seeing how it mostly takes plae in school or on school grounds such as recess time. The ending also fit "Kyo no Go no Ni". Though both the opening and ending fit with it I quite didnt like the songs because I'm not a fan of the type of music. The voice acting was just average, nothing better and nothing worse, just average. Oh yea heres a plus there s no girls with that high-pitched whiny voicee that we all seem to see to much.Sorry for those of you who like that high-pitched whiny voice.

Story -
The story takes place in school where the main character does normal stuff well not always normal stuff like when he in a girl got stuck in the shed, well lets just say that didn't look right when it was opened but altogether funny. The story is put together in a different way then 99% of what I'm use to. sorry but I'm not gonna tell you. Just see for yourself its to hard to explain its only two short episodes that are worth seeing.

Characters -
The characters were all good and not annoying to me well because maybe they just simply didn't have time to. Na I'm just playing. i like how the characters' seem to interacyt and talk to eachother. like saying the collerbone is the sexiest part of a womens body yea wtf but it doesn' last long, the main character was just trying to cover his ass. you know how in the animes' Golden Boy and GTO how Kintaro and Eikichi make those weird cool looking funny faces well DO YAh. If you do you'll behappy to hear that the main character in "Kyo no Go no Ni" does those weird types of faces. Now whats not to love about that.

Value -
the rewatch value is good because it contains only two episodes which means it won't take you very long and that it has its own unique way of comedy theats pretty entertaining. the collectible valu well if I find a import dvd of it for a really cheap price I'll buy it. i recommend this to people who are looking for a unique comedy anime that is short.

*I recommend this anime tittle*
