| Strawberry Panic sure did spent some time introducing their magnificent setting and its traditions, also bringing in more lovable character to start. So if you were to be patient and stick to it,the latter half of Strawberry Panic will give you a pleasure surprise.

| "Strawberry Panic!" is a touching anime that follows the lives and emotional events surrounding its characters.
Though it could be criticized for its initially slow progression the show as a whole is beautifully produced. It should be noted that this anime does fall into the Yuri genre. If that proves to be an obstacle toward enjoying the anime you may not want to watch it.
Animation in "Strawberry Panic!" was good. Nothing spectacular and in a rare few places it was lacking a real and finished appearance.
"Strawberry Panic!" does an excellent job for background music, making good use of symphony and piano pieces along with some choir music. The opening music was okay at best, for the two openings. However, the ending music wasn't really suited to the show's storyline. The voice acting was very good.
The story is quite touching and highly enjoyable. While some may critisize it for a lack of plot, the show is really more about following the events of the characters lives, so that itself is the plot of the show. To that end the show may feel a bit slow at the start until you begin to empathize with the characters. Yet it is well worth sticking through the slow part. The ending in particular is well suited to the story, because it doesn't just whisk you away to happily-ever-after-land.
The character design was very well suited to reflect the emotional nature of the story.
Excellent characters abound in this show. However, to appreciate them and the show itself requires an open minded viewer who can see beyond the abscence of male characters. From begining to end they continue to grow, with a very human feel to their motivations and reactions. The situations and troubles they face are well portrayed as they do not always end happily or even wholly resolved through a single event, rather left to be resolved over time.
There is a definate value to watching this show if you do not normally seek out Yuri anime, as you gain a definite appreciation for relations between anyone rather than only expected pairings.

| One of my main complaints is why are all the character lesbian? Why isn't there a single male character? The story takes place in three Catholic private schools (Catholics look down on expressing your sexuality in the first place and consider it a sin) so you would think that homosexuality would be discouraged... as it was, all the characters had no problem with anybody knowing of their lesbian relationships, and apparently were not punished for it. All I can say is WOW. On top of that it appeared that being a lesbian was the norm at these schools. Another really annoying thing is that the main characters lover (with silver hair) appeared to only think of the past and not of her future; at the end of the Anime it appears the main character and her lover have made up... but they will still be separated... Also it leaves a bitter feeling as the main character's room mate who cared for little miss redhead the most never had her feelings returned... there wasn't even a conversation about it. Suffice to say the plot in the end was very disappointing.

| Strawberry Panic starts off slow and boring and I can see why people would droped the anime so early, but if you hang on the anime may surprise you with the later episodes.
Strawberry Panic has animations that are average I would say. Nothing amazing or detailed in this anime, neither is their anything bad or horrible. The animations stay consistent throughout the entire anime.
BGM is the thing that Strawberry Panic totally exceeds at. Soft slow piano pieces are played at the right moments while there are still light hearted pieces of music in the anime. The anime also has two OP and ED which is a plus for the anime. The first OP and the second OP are outstanding and the first ED as well. Can't say the same about the second ED though. Voice acting is top notch with a whole bunch of popular female voice actors doing the cast of Strawberry Panic.
The story starts off slow, but then slowly picks up near the second half of the anime. It's about a girl named Aoi Nagisa who enrolls at a school where only girls attend. There she meets a girl named Shizuma and the anime Strawberry Panic starts. You're better off reading the preview from AnimeNfo then reading mine. >_>
Sometimes the anime gets really cliche and cheesy, but if you overlook those moments then there's a whole bunch of other stuff waiting for you. Personally, I felt like I wanted to drop the anime near the beginning, because it was so boring. But I heard that the anime will eventually get good and the characters were too hard to pass up.
Characters are some of the best I've seen in an anime. And the whole cast is a bunch of girls. There's not a single male in this anime at all. Which to me was really surprising. The main character Nagisa is a nice girl who cares about all the other characters, she is looked up be her younger classmates and appreciated by her older classmates. Her roommate Tamao is more of a fun character and just more interesting to watch. Shizuma is the Etoile who is the one that is looked up by all the students of Miator, Spica, Lulim. All of the side characters are wonderful and also fun to watch, except for Hikari, because I extremely dislike her.
Just to tell you this is a yuri anime that means there are some girlxgirl moments. What would you expect from an anime with only female characters in it? Strawberry Panic is currently one of my favorite yuri animes at the moment standing next to Kannazuki no Miko.

| I love Strawberry Panic! Even with it's corny little plots to get some yuri action! Things in the anime just seem to revolve on what people think about them and how they feel about eachother. Everyone in this anime just screams
"Hey, I'm lesbian are you game?"
Haha. Not for those who think lezzians, homos and anything same-sexed is soo... suckass... but hey let me finish this heh.
Just "Christian" private schools with lesbian leaders who control events and run the harems of lesbian action. Yeah.
When we first watch S.P we come across the main character. Nagisa who happens to be a total clutz and a whinner... she stumbles down a humongo hill and comes across the Etolie [leader of the lesbian schools] giving her lesbian glare to the helpless lesbianic-free Nagisa.. and what next? A KISS? ALL IN THE FIRST 15 mins of the first episode? NO WAY!
Moving on...
It's enjoyable if you like to watch the main characters go over the edge with her anxiety and love triangles with the Etolie [the Uber secksual [lol] predator] Shizuma and your cute obessessive roommate Taomoa... also a couple of more chicks who dig you but are too young. Chiyo. and the super dyke. Amane [a-MAN-e]. Who flirts with you for like a second until the Etoile comes to be a jealousy lezzie and chases her off.
Overall, it's a bit corny, but it's likeable and beleivable. The drama and the random and unreasonable events just make you say "WTF?!" but later, you'll just learn to accept it because it's Stawberry Paniku!

| I'm afraid my weak english skills will not suffice to describe how much this anime SUCKS! It's not just that there's no story - the whole thing is completely devoid of any substance whatsoever.
Every episode is about serious issues such as "a girl loses her handkerchief," "a girl is assigned to an older student and is afraid whether her senpai will like her or not" etc etc... Also, every episode contains about 50 scenes of a girl apologizing because of every movement she makes.
And, although SP is a yuri anime, it completely and utterly fails to depicit relationships between the characters. The relationship between Nagisa and Shizuma looks more like sexual harrasment. Would you actually believe something like that can be annoying in an anime?!
And imagine this situation: we want girl A to be chairman of the student council. But she doesn't want to, because she's in love with girl B. So what are we going to do? That's right, RAEP GIRL B! That's a totally logical solution, now isn't it?!
I stopped watching it about halfway through the series, because it was so annoyingly stupid I couldn't stand it anymore. This anime could probably be used as an aversion therapy in gay reeducation camps, because as much as I like yuri, just thinking about Strawberry Panic makes me physically sick.
OK, that was maybe a bit exaggerated, but believe me - you don't want to waste your time with this tripe.

| Okay, first things first: How much you enjoy Strawberry Panic is directly proportional to your ideas regarding homosexual relationships. If you're the type who gags at the thought of two girls going on a date, then you'd probably do well avoiding this show. On the other hand, if you're an open-minded person who doesn't mind same-sex romances, then you may find something worth watching in this series.
I'll admit that this was my first Yuri series, but I'll also say that I was pleasantly surprised. The emphasis on characters and their emotions rather than on fanservice and panty shots made this far more compelling than some of the other series out there.
I was skeptical at first, but as the show goes on, the characterization deepens to the point where the paint-and-paper players on screen seem more like flesh-and-blood humans. Sure, some of the secondary and tertiary characters may be predictable at times, but then there are moments that bring a genuine twist--something so contrary to what you expect that you can't help but raise your brows in surprise and say, "wow--I didn't think THAT was going to happen."
Some critics may debase the show as being a run-on excuse for girls to kiss--a sort of disjointed series of events whose only purpose is to bring the viewer to the next titillating scene--but it's really so much more. The actual kissing is kept to a minimum, surprisingly, and instead the show focuses on the emotional side of the relationships--pain, jealously, happiness, rage. It's all there, and the superb voice acting and animation ties it all together so that you can't help but wonder what's going to happen next.
The music, too, is something worth mentioning. Though the ending songs (and the accompanying creepy visuals) are best skipped, the in-show music is excellent. The subtle piano melodies and soft choir tunes create a perfect aural setting for whatever scene is at hand. Some may complain that the songs are recycled too much, but they're used so sparingly and at such good moments that ultimately they serve to create a touch of nostalgia towards the end.
Strawberry Panic isn't a show for everybody. As such, many people would do better to avoid it altogether. But for those who are interested, who have an open mind and a taste for emotional upheaval, then by all means, take a look.
I'm sure there are better, more masterful series out there, but as it stands, Strawberry Panic is pretty darn good.

| This is a decent anime. There are emotional moments that are well done, and the overall storyline flows fairly well.
It didn't impress me as a grand masterpiece, but it was fun to watch.

| First of all, I am only 14 episodes into the show and this is the first yuri anime that I have ever seen (although there doesn't appear to be vast numbers of this type of anime out there). I find it very interesting that every single girl in this anime is a lesbian. Perhaps this show is on some paranormal dimension where men don't exist (because there are no male characters in the show... like I said, I am new to the idea of yuri anime). I found this anime to be boring and pointless at times and I often asked myself why I kept watching it. Yes, the characters are very cute. I can't deny that; however, I just find that there needs to be more plot development in order for me to really enjoy this anime. This review may seem harsh, but I am comparing this show to other animes that I have watched (such as Twelve Kingdoms, which is one of my favourite anime). One thing I found ironic about this anime is the fact that the story revolves around lesbian love, and yet there is religious paraphernalia and symbolism every where (i.e.: crosses, praying, the Virgin Mary, etc). This was just something that I found interesting and I am curious if anyone else picked it up as well. I am also curious as to who exactly this anime's target audience is. At times the anime is very cutesy and childish, which would work well for little girls. However, there are some mature and darker elements of the show that are not suited for children. This anime seems to be quite paradoxical.

| First of all, this was one of the first Yuri anime I have ever watched, and for me it is great in itself.
The animation isn't that bad, the character designs are quite good, and the backgrounds are impressive, the structural designs of the buildings were somewhat old in some ways but the detail was good enough.
The first and second op songs are quite catchy, there is that tune that makes you interested in watching it. The ed songs were the usual nothing special, but the sound effects in the episodes were just enough to keep you in the mood to watch it.
The story was really one of this anime's good points. At first you would think, "this is boring" or "whats going on?" and such, but as you continue throughout the series, the story gets better and better, to introductions of new characters to explaining their histories. The story was well paced in itself and has, IMHO, a good ending.
The characters gave a different feel, you would not expect their attitudes at the start of the series, it gets better and better as the series continues, there are many different interpretations to the characters themselves, they are clearly unpredictable and its that virtue that caught my attention when progressing with the story.
When it comes to value, I highly recommend it. It has that different feel to it and it might reach the top 200 someday.
I really enjoyed this series and I hope that others will too. It is really one of a kind and it is really worth watching.

| I came upon this one total accidentally and to be hones,t I was really sceptic... I'm not a big fan of romantic animes, so I think my bad feeling towards this anime was understandeable. But I had too much time to waste so I thought why not watch one or two episodes of it. It is better than doing nothing so I started to watch it. I never thought I'd end up writing a review about it and that this anime will be one of my favourites. :)
Well, what could I write about the animation? I liked the character drawings a lot and found it beautiful, especially Shizuma. Maybe they legs were a bit too thin, but this was something I did not really care about. The scenery was well drawn too so that's why I gave it a 9. I don't really know what more to write about this topic, cause I'm not so good at telling if an animation is good or bad. I liked it so in my opinion it deservs a 9 if not a 10.
The sound. Well, I'm not keen on jpop. I can listen to 4-5 songs when I'm in the mood for it but even so, a bigger dose of it makes me wanna bang my head into the wall. It's not that I hate it, I just can't take much of it. I watched the first 8-9 episodes in at one go and I was on a good way to become totally crazy of the opening and ending themes. Actually, they weren't so horrible, but they're not my style. On the other hand, the background music was fantastic and it matched the events perfectly. The voice acting was also a real hit even if Nagisas voice sometimes annoyed me.
Don't expect a story with a train of deep psychological thoughts. It is an average love-story but one of the enjoyable ones. As for me, surprisingly, I didn't get bored, more than that, I loved the story and I waited excited for the next few episodes. It has a good plot, it's sometimes funny, sometimes it makes you wanna burst out in tears. It's just fine. :)
I've already wrote down roughly what I think about the character's desing or at least I tryed to write something about it. About the character's developement, well, it's hard to write without spoilers. All in all it was done really good, how they changed, how they suffered, etc...It was almost lifelike!
For me this anime is absolutely re-watcheable and 100% enjoyable. But I'd never recommend it to heterosexual males/girls who despise lesbian themes, cause they would hate it and they would find a trip to hell more enjoyable than watching this series. It is a beautiful anime, but first and foremost it is a yuri anime with absolutely no boys in it. If you like/don't mind yuri then watch, if not, avoid it at all costs!

| Strawberry Panic is the first Yuri anime I have ever watched, and I found it far from enjoyable.
The graphics were poor in my opinion. All of the characters were drawn too thin for my liking, and the animation had a general 90s feel to it. Sometimes the animation lacked complexity, while there was an absence of it at other times.
The music was below average at best. The ending themes made me physically cringe in my chair. Some of the songs in the anime were repeated far too often, and the background music was not noticeable most of the time. The voice overs weren't bad. I blame the occasional incorrect lip sync at the poor animation instead of poor voice acting.
The story-line was the same in most episodes. The theme of lesbian love is played over and over until it became blatantly predictable, annoying and predictably annoying. The only difference is the size and scale of the love story.
There is the occasional episode which does not concern itself with some lesbian relationship, but the story-line in those episodes are just plain boring.
I am not a female, much less a lesbian myself. Therefore, that might be a reason as to why I do not understand the feelings of the characters one bit. The emotions and actions of most of the characters made my eyelids swell, and the occasional spontaneous emotional outburst scenes made me choke.
Maybe it's because I'm not a lesbian, and therefore doesn't manage to 'get into the mood' of the anime, or maybe it's because the characters are over-exaggerated. Whatever the case, they aren't very well developed (most of the character development happen during the 5 second introduction and then that character will be off to search for lesbian love).
Other than cringing and feeling my eyelids swell up, me and my non-lesbian friends found Strawberry Panic to be a pretty good anime to laugh at. The outbursts of the characters are funny if you look at them in a certain way, and the story-line is so predictable it's funny at times.
A lesbian might truly enjoy a Yuri anime like Strawberry Panic, but this is definitely not something to be watched by heterosexual males.

| As I have watch so many seinens and shounens in my life (cowboy bebop, chobits, I have seen many genres -except shojo, not that i hate them but its not really someting I would enjoy. Anyway there was a Yuri anime with caught my eye on animeinfo, which in the end would be strawberry panic.
When I herd about it I only could think of two posibilities, one a H-title or two a shoujo-ai with lots of shoujo moments. Fortunatley it was neither thee two cases.
Strawberry panic is definetley getting better it has a good story and characters which if you would put a billboard up on anywhere you would say "thats something different".
Strawberry panic is not just about The lesbian rapes, the chaos, and the lolititian. It also has a good plot. The Shizuma and Nagisa tensions are rising and it look like they will finaly kiss.
Sound good and so is the opening and ending theme ( which I found rather catchy) and if thi anime wa licenced it would have great reviews

| (Early Review) I've only watched the first 4 or 5 episodes, so this is an early review ... I'm also at a loss sometimes to rate the animation, when the subject matter doesn't require amazing animation, so is it a 10 if it perfectly matches the subject matter, but is otherwise unexceptional? In any case the animation is solid and brings out the cuteness in the characters.
I can't seem to stop watching this one. Anime news network only hints at what's going on. (Spoilers) The main character transfers to an all girls school (one of three competing schools actually) and falls into the amorous clutches of a mystery girl, and she is almost kissed. Later she meets her roomate who also seems to want to put the moves on her. It seems to be harem anime, but with a female lead... which is a bit shocking and therefore, fun.
It's all very "moe" cute, and I have no idea where the story is going, but nevertheless it's compelling.
