Based on the Visual Novel game from Navel (Soul Link for PC and Soul Link Extension for PS2 I believe), Soul Link retells their story in anime form. This carries elements of "slice of life" in the start with ecchi, comedy, to tragedy spread random drops of raisin in your cereal. The overall tone is light like some other anime, so if you've think you have seen the best and wants something "good" by that comparison... I wouldn't suggest that for you- as that mind may be too closed to accept this, especially with its "slow" start. But as you go deeper into the episodes- mind you there is only 12- you will uncover more and more entertaining details "as the car accelerates". Unfortunately I have not played the orignal Visual Novel, so I am unaware of this anime's full potential. Fitting a story in such short amount of episodes isnt impossible, but the reduced length can cause problems. Again, this is a pretty light and fast pace anime that gets better as you close on the ending. So as long one has time one wouldnt mind sparing, this anime would be a good fix that only requires 1 day to watch them all. I would not reconmend spreading them out further than a span of 3 days (4 episodes per day/2 volumes a day).

Soul Link is a story written on several levels. It's a complicated, cerebral plot that has things the average anime fan can miss.
The plot itself concerns a group of military cadets on a space station that gets taken over by terrorists. However, these terrorists were being used by a more sinister person that has an experimental treatment that will make a person heal instantly, and bend their minds to her will.

Although I recommend this anime, I don't recommend it for children. It's very violent in places and has nudity in it.

Well thank god this series is short. I hate when pretty much pointless series are 12 episodes or longer ( most of the series today). I won't be all negative though as at least this series does have a few strong points.

this anime tries its best not to in the harem genre but its just is. The space setting does little to fool the situation, but seasoned harem viewers know thisis a harem just after the intro and know what kind of quality to expect after the first episode. Its a lot like pia carrot but slighlty inferior.

When watching this anime, i asked lots of questions to myself, but the one that came up the most was, 'Why am i watching this?'

A cynical question, in which, i HAVE to watch the anime because i need to compelte it for some strang unknown behavioural reason but Soul Link is just one of those animes which screams out to me 'Why are you watching me? Im not good, im not special, theres much better anime out there, go spend your time with them and not me!'.. and im not joking, its true, Soul Link is devoid of flow, story, memorable moments or characters, pacing, action and comedy.

There really is nothing more that i should say, Soul Link is just another 'one of those animes', strange though it received quite well from its h-game, that the animated form fails utterly in trying to emulate it. Its weird as well that Navel's other project, Shuffle!, is much better and well received as well that alot of people expected the same to happen for this title.

In any case, Soul Link is an un-memorable piece of anime standard garbage, you may find some scenes of ups, but you will find mostly downs in this trash.. though as cynical i am, this anime would have worked better as a hentai title instead. OH SNAP!

Overall: 4/10
Grade: D-

Soul Link is an anime set in space. There isn't great technology like mecha-style yet. The fighting in it is not very special in any way, it's just normal fighting. The best part in this anime is probably the animation and character development.

The beginning and ending songs are very suitable for this anime, and are quite catchy as well. The characters are drawn smoothly, cute, and as there are many characters, there are many personalities.

I found the ending kind of rushed and maybe 1 more episode where more things could happen would have been better.

If you're bored and want to watch a short, slightly entertaining anime, watch Soul Link!

This series is nothing new, we've seeen it done before, perhaps better. A bunch of students stuck up in a space station fighting for their lives.....sounds a bit like Ryvius. Not to say that they're the exact same, but there are to many similarities for someone who has seen both for it to go unnoticed. The art work feels like its almost going for a 90s retro look, but maybe that's jsut a lack of quality. The characters are interesting, but none of them are3 original, there are just a lot of them. The music is pretty catchy but nothing to write home about. The story moves too slow. They have too many charac ters to develop and the story has hardly gotten moving by the third episode, and it keeps moving at the same pace in the fourth. I'm worried that they won't be able to really cfomplete anything in the 12 episodes they supposedly have. I will continue to watch this series, but unless you're bored and have nothing better to watch, don't bother checking this out.

a lot of happening, but nothing seems to be going on? there is a good build up of character's development going on, and thats the real only drive in this anime. there isn't much action to write home about, and there's a LOT of fan service! to me that seems to be the "Thang" about this anime rather than a strong story line. there in space but they dont have any Mech tech, or fighter ships. (yet) the jury is still out on this anime after the 4th episode, its early days, but it doesn't look promising. even the killings looked weak in there animation, as if they couldn't be bothered to fit enough frames on the character's art work. i understand it throw back, but so is "one Piece", and the animation for One Piece is old, but great.
