| Nerima Daikon Brothers is the story of Mako, Hibiki, and Ichiro, three wannabe rock stars who live in Nerima. While waiting for their ship to come in, they raise daikon radishes. They are confronted each episode by the various forces that try to keep them down, and fight them. Pursuing them is Inspector Widget, a hot babe police woman modeled on Inspector Gadget.
Supposedly this was all the brainchild of Shinchiro Wantanabe, who also directed Excel Saga. Urban legend states that he got the idea by visiting the Houston House of Blues in 2002 and watching an episode of Animaniacs on American TV.
