| Noiseman's progressive, or weird if you will, concept is accessible because of its short length and simple, self contained story. Normally, something with visual audio such as this is difficult to approach, and is therefore confined to its own niche following. Sadly, Noiseman doesn't have much more than a small niche, but given the chance, most viewers will probably find that there is some mass-market appeal.
I believe a majority of people who watch Noiseman will enjoy it, but I doubt it will make too many avid fans. The plot is a little too complex for the alloted time. It doesn't flow quite as effortlessly as Comedy. Following the rushed developments of the first third of the movie is a bit of a chore.
Noiseman remains accessible despite a confusing hiccup at first because its story is completely unpretentious. It never tries to drill an emotion or a philosophical perspective. It's just a pure, albeit very strange story. The appeal is the novelty in the premise, audio, and visuals. Brave is the soul who accuses Noiseman of being vanilla, or cookie cutter.
The animation in Noiseman is very solid, somewhere between the quality one would expect from a TV series and a feature film. 4C as usual, delivers on the atmospheric and creative aspect of the visuals. The setting is a vibrantly colored slum that looks like a cross between Tekkon Kinkreet and Tweeny Witches.
A name like Noiseman brings up a certain expectation for the sound. This aspect is perhaps the most impressive of the short. Noiseman contains some pieces that are no more than vaguely musical sounding noise, some tribal beats, and some faced paced techno stuff. What's amazing is how perfectly the music is timed with this film. There is some sort of music playing for the whole duration, and considering how radically different the musical pieces are from each other, it's amazing how smooth the transitions are. The quick techno beats always come in just as a scene gets exciting. Musical pauses are used to dramatic effect. The music on a scene to scene basis is perfectly matched with the animation, and as a whole, the messiness in all of the music is a great match for the setting.
There's usually something wrong when novelty is one of the greatest assets of a film. Because Noiseman is but 15 minutes, the novel charm has no problem lasting the entire duration. Beyond that simple strangeness that is so amusing, Noiseman has a solid story that is elevated by the visual and audio experience it provides.

For a 15 minute dementia feature this is perhaps one of the best and weirdest I've seen.
The sound fx and animation were spectacular, the action and chase scenes also. I was suprised to read in the end credits that Y.Kanno was involved.
As for the story I didnt comprehend much, though that hardly mattered. We have a group of kids who insurrect against Noiseman, a strange creature able to tranform people into some sort of liquid by controlling sound waves. But really I didnt care for the story
The animation and sound make this anime one of the most unique and one of the best productions by Bandai and Beyond C.
For 1997 the animation amazing.
A must watch for animation fans

| Aaww, this anime was the greatest.
And the weirdest ..in a positive way. [I love weird animes.] This one made me and my little brother laugh our brains off.
This anime is surely one of my favourites, even though it sure was a little too short. Just 1 episode isn't enough to me.

| Noise is a weird anime. Just at the topic says, this anime has full of noise. Almost everything has noise and it could be in a Dimentia category itself. Take FLCL, add in more wacko stuff, and weird sound and you have this.
The best part of the anime is both sound and animation. Animation is something I have not seen before, so there is no way to comment on what type of animation this is.
Lots of SFX, no BGM for that. Though few short sounds does not count as BGM.
I don't understand the story. Though it seems like a mind control anime, thats about it. Try watching FLCL while intoxicated and you will have this. The only problem I see with the story is that its too short, like it started in the middle of something and suddenly it ends. Though it makes sense, but it very frustrating. Imagine watching FMA movie for the first time but starting the last half.
Characters are quite weird quite unique and realistic. Seems like something taken out of no where.
I am keeping this anime, I feel there is a need to keep the weirdest anime out there and this is considered weird.
