| Ataru made a mistake that he's unaware of, now he have to marry Elle, a princess from another planet. How will he make his way out of this mess?
This is the first movie of Urusei Yatsura. It's funny and weird as expected. But I feel I'm just watching a regular episode of the tv series just stretched out to reach 90 minutes or so. Well, it has some good points and bad points. Let's talk about the good points first. The into was very well excecuted, it will surely absorb the viewers especially the fans. When the opening song was played, all of the cast's reaction upon receiving the invitation of Ataru's wedding are shown. Shinobu is lifting weights and has an angry look on her face, Megane is sharpening a knife, Sakura has an "unbelievable" look on her face, All of them has different rections. It really made me laugh. Another good point is that there's some development on Ataru and Lum's relationship as I've never seen before in the series. Now let us discuss about the bad point. The cast are so many so it made me confused a little. All of Ataru and Lum's friends are there and include all those aliens, there's so many of them. And about the ending, I was kind of expect that. It will take a lot of miracle to tie Ataru down as he's such a playboy, he will definitely refuse to get married.
the animation, sound and characters are exactly as what they are in the series but I found out something about Ataru, he had to be a detective in order to get out of the mess he made. I never thought that he can be clever sometimes. Nice job Ataru!
A pretty good movie but not as enjoyable as movie 2.

| The first UY movie, and probably one of the best of the six, completely hilarious, wacky, and a perfect incarnation of the tv series.

| The first UY movie feels just like a long episode of the show...definitely fits into its role. Follows the TV formula to a tee. Plenty of comedy and zaniness. The girl that Ataru persues, I agree, creeps me out as well in her objectives. If you have been watching UY at all up to this point, and you havent seen this movie, youhave to see it. Its a natural extension of the TV show...plus, there are any cameos by the princess in future movies and TV shows youll need to see Only You, in order to understand.

| This was highly astonishing during the time when I saw it. I especially loved the music that it gave out from the beginning to the end. The animation was slightly better compared to the TV series. The cast were all the same, with Lum and Ataru were humorous as usual. The new character that fell for Ataru was funny, yet somewhat creepy with her objectives during the middle of it. Most of the time it is good, and the ending was really a cherishing one. A really good recommendation, if you happen to stumble upon it.

| The first movie for U-Y is the better of the two I have seen so far. Ataru has yet another alien girl around. The only difference is that this girl is pursuing HIM. This movie has great comedic value as well as U-Y's trademark strangeness. If you want to know more read the rest of my review.

| I thought Beautiful Dreamer was pretty crazy, but I think this is even crazier. I found Only You to be really fun to watch though. It's definitely something for any Urusei Yatsura fan to check out, or anyone who enjoys Rumiko Takahashi's works such as myself. I'm looking forward to AnimEigo releasing the rest of the UY movies in dvd format.
Overall, this is just a crazily fun movie that I would definitely recommend to everyone. It's not something you should expect to find at your local Suncoast or wherever, as it's not a hugely popular title. But order it from AnimEigo's website if you can't find it, it's worth the wait for delivery.

| This movie follows the most common UY storyline there is. Ataru sees a new girl, goes after her, Lum gets mad. Comedy and violence ensue, and eventually Ataru ends up with Lum with a semi/quasi/pseudo declaration of love.
It's not that good. It's not that bad. There are better UY movies out there, but it's worth watching if you're a big UY fan.

| This is everything a movie for a series should be, characters act as they should, the plot is original, and even some added character depth. If you've watched the series, you have to see this movie.
