| One of my favorite pokemon movies by far! The animation has definitely improved and I like how the villains this time are girls. However couldn't they of come up with better names than Annie and Oakley?
Sound is great. The music and sounds go well with each scene.
The movie takes place on an island known as Altomare. It's a very Venice style place with canals and gondolas. Well done animated setting. Ash and co end up meeting a girl name Bianca who at first was actually Latias transformed into her so it was a bit of a misunderstanding. Latias ended up taking to Ash very quickly. The villains are 2 girls from Team Rocket named Annie and Oakley who've come to steal the soul dew which Latios and Latias guard.
I usually don't get very emotional during a movie but this is one of the few movies i've watched that actually made me cry. It was very touching. I loved Latios and Latias and to see what happened in the end was very sad. I've watched this movie many times without getting bored of it and each time is just as emotional for me so I give it a good value score.
If you are a pokemon fan, to me this is one of the better pokemon movies and I recommend it to you!

| Most people know that Pokemon uses the same formula for every movie. It's all about a legendary Pokemon, and Ash meeting it (what are the chances he meets every single legendary Pokemon?), making friends with it...etc. This movie follows the same formula, so this movie lacks freshness. The visual department is another story.
The script is very tight. The only scene where the plot doesn't advance is the recap "The Journey so far" at the start. It was unessicary. If someone was watching the film, I'm pretty sure they know who Ash Ketchum is and what he's trying to achieve.
There are some interesting terms - Soul Dew, Defense Mechanism.... at least it doesn't reek of Sci fi cheese where new terms are constantly appearing. It manages to sound believable in the world it is part in.
'Heroes', like most other Pokemon films, is highly plot orientated, but manages to be enjoyable with its "action-packed adventures" (thank you, DVD blurb). Although, one may feel it's lacking something, and this is a decent message and characters. The concept is good vs evil. Mewtwo Strikes Back had a lovely message about "love conquers all", and had some touching moments. In this, touching moments are sparse. Go figure.
