| Honestly, this one just failed to do it for me. I mean it wasn't bad, I still enjoyed it but it seemed to be little more than the sad predecessor to Love Hina.
On the surface, the two are really similar: the same simple, shallow storyline and character models you'd expect from any harem, attractive illustrations with heavy stress on fan-service (can't claim to be a fan of I"s's style though), and both are insanely addictive.
But while Love Hina didn't take itself seriously, giving way to all sorts of mind-blowingly ridiculous situations, I"s took itself way too seriously; like to the point of a really bad, melodramatic soap opera in manga form, all the worse because there isn't some ridiculous overly-buff, tanned plastic surgeon named Rodrigo who got his fiancee's under-aged niece pregnant.
It looks like I'm at odds with just about everyone on this but oh well. Perhaps I'm just done with harem...

| Absolutely one of my favorite mangas. I''s delivers a very good story that is not hindered by monotonous and cliche storytelling. Anyone who likes a good romance should read this. The only minor problem I have with this manga is that it is slightly ecchi, and I believe that a manga like this does not need to be ecchi at all.

| I''S significó mi retorno al manga. Su historia me enganchó desde el primer volumen hasta el último, y es más, engancha hasta a la gente que no es fiel seguidora de los cómics japoneses.
Es una lectura obligatoria para todo el mundo.

| Though not as good as Video Girl Ai in my opinion (yet to read DNA2) I''s is another exceptionate romance title. Regarding the desing it isnt as detailed as Video Girl Ai, yet some moments this simplicity becomes more effective in conveying the characters feelings.
Of all the characters I liked Itsuki and it is a pity she doesnt feature in so many volumes. She resembles Ai in the VG Ai manga a lot. Not only her, the other character, especially the two main characters as well resemble characters of the previous manga.
The ending this time is much better though I dont know why they had to screw it with 3 different endings.
Despite that, this is another must read manga and perhaps the best romance manga of the 90's and one of the best along with DNA2 and Video Girl Ai

| Looking back on my experience of reading I''s, I can't help but to think that I just read a horribly forced story, unoriginal scenarios and an absolute lack of fresh ideas. But for SOME reason, I have totally fallen in love with the characters and am absolutely smitten by them.
On paper, Ichigo 100% seems to have a more innovative approach towards this love scene. In Ichigo 100%, each female lead and male lead had some sort of aspiration they were aiming for. Whereas in I''s, the main male character has no hopes, no aspirations... he's just plain and simple unamazing and boring. Yet, in I''s the female cast is about the most amazing I've ever seen. Cute, sexy, charming - combined these female characters embody the idealness of all female persona from a male point of view. Pure and innocent, these girls fall in love with Ichitaka and what they do to win his love is amazing and heart breaking.
Because of reading the manga, I had all the physical signs of feeling in love. I lost my appetite, I thought so much about the characters, it was just addicting, frustrating yet exciting at the same time. Never had I been so carried away with so marvelous characters.
For a relatively more objective analysis, click View More. But otherwise, my final words would be: I''s is an amazing love romance manga for the male audience. Beautiful females put into a high school romance situation where scene after scene the lovebirds get together and build up an exhilirating relationship. It may seem like I was only impressed with the beauty of the characters, but the way they crafted each individual character is amazing in its own right.

| This is the best manga I've ever read! The romance and the comedy are very well put together. The story is very strong from the start and end. Ichitaka personality is very realistic and so are the other characters. The even constant changing situations makes this romance comedy more dramatic and more interesting to read.

| wah so great . the art wass amazing. i actually have stopped interest in reading romance manga but this mang just brought everthing back. the male character does resemble us male in many way.

| Hmm, the main problem is this that some of the information inside is often have some plotholes. This manga focuses more on flashbacks than any other manga. But this still, makes a reader addicted to its style.

| This is a manga that could make you feel disturbed if you didn't finish the story. You may regret it if you fail to finish the whole manga since it has a great story. The character designs are superb and very life like; from head down to toe, even the breasts are realistic.

| What can I say about this manga. Wonderful from the start to the end.Amazing girl characters; real females that do not exist anymore. Oh, my sweet Iori... I don't believe there is a better romance to read out there. Remember, true love is a dream where you think of your partner, not just yourself. I had the same problem with Ichitaka some time ago and I learned many things from I''s!

| Great manga. it's like as real as it gets. ichitaka's personality is like many guys, and one of them is me. it is so good that you would get pretty tense to know what the next situation would be. simply a must-read.

| I''s has all the makings of a classic manga: great art, a decent story idea, and it's from the creator of the well-known, well done Video Girl Ai.
All it needed was a lead you could care about.
Ichitaka is as wishy-washy as they come, and he's not cute or funny or anything: he's just annoying. He deserves every criticism he gets from his childhood friend, Itsuki.
Still, though, it's not all bad. The development of the love story is decent enough (despite its long length), and the girls in this series *are* cute (something the mangaka's very good at). I wouldn't rush out and buy I''s, but if you're finished Video Girl Ai and need something similar to it to read, you may want to check this one out.

I read this manga right after Love Hina ( it just ended and I needed mooore ;] ), in order to "fill the gap". I could have never foreseen that I'll find an even more beautify and fascinating story.
The thing that made I''s an experience were the very human-like characters. Really loved Iori and just prayed that she and Ichitaka would end up together ( at a certain point I though this guy was never meant to be happy, felt so sorry for him... ).
The love story is told of the boy's part of view, and really touched me ( I know this guy, I see him every time I look in the mirror... ). All the characters get a really good development, in the middle things seem to be going rather slow, but the end almost made me cry whit happiness :)
In essence: This story felt so real... Read it and you won't regret it.

| This is a great romance comedy. It focuses on two people in high school, Ichitaka Seto and Iori Yoshizaki. Ichitaka falls in love with Iori and his emotions he goes through trying to admit his love. It deals with issues lots of real people encounter in their high school life.
The pacing is a bit slow at first, but it draws you into the characters. You get to know and care about them.
SPOILER
I wished they spent more time after they get together than when he builds up courage to tell her though. It's all worth it when you hear the line "I thought it was one sided..." though. :)
END SPOILER
I do wish the ending was a bit longer so we can find out what happens to the characters, but it's not a total cliffhanger right now. The ending also actually made me cry, which no manga previously had done.
I really wished they would translate this to English and bring it over, but right now I'll have to deal with scans. :( It'd be nice to have physical copies of these books I could understand.

| This is one of the few romance manga that I really enjoy reading. It has a really serious and beautiful story. It is full of dramatic events and the ending is full of action and drama.
The story is a bit slow for most non-serious readers, but it is intended this way so that the characters can be fully developed and it really captures the way 2 young lovers' reaction to each other.
If you have a chance to obtain this set of manga, you should buy it only if you enjoy serious romance, otherwise, you will be seriously dissappointed if you are expecting something like Love Hina.
