| first off, animation (despite that is quite nice) can't save this anime. this has absolutely no appeal to it. like someone mentioned, it moved too fast and it moved too slow, or more eloquently it means that it was a mess. it didn't really know what to focus on... character? mecha? whats the point?
character development is the worst in this. where there is barely any... i guess they spent a lot of time on the animation and just drew upon a lot of common stereotypes; and it IS 13 episodes only,,, but they're just so flat.
i think this project was probably taken up to model some of the popular styles of the time (a lot of high tech stuff with AI all over), and create a nice pure cg environment for it.
it is worth taking a look at it for the sake of the animation and it is short enough to just drudge yourself through it, but it really isn't all that impressive in terms of overall appeal..

| Ich hatte schon von Anfang an keine großen Erwartungen in diese Serie gesteckt aber das Run=Dim so extrem schwach ist hat mich dann doch etwas überrascht, und ich rede nicht einmal von den extrem billigen und augenfeindlichen CG-Animationen sondern beziehe sowohl Story als auch Charaktere in diese Aussage mit ein. Gerade als ich dachte ich hätte mit "Platinumhugen Ordian" den Mecha-Anime mit dem einfallslosesten und langweiligsten Plot gefunden, kommt Run=Dim und belehrt mich eines Besseren: Nicht nur das es dem Verlauf dieser Serie an allen Ecken und Enden an Originalität mangelt, hinzu kommt noch das hier ganz offensichtlich bei so ziemlich jedem renommierten Mecha-Anime geklaut wurde und das mehr als schlecht! Vom Jungen ,der dank speziellen Fähigkeiten DER Mecha-Pilot schlechthin ist, bis hin zu den 2 Mächten die sich bekriegen und gewissen Twists in der Story die damit zu tun haben das unser Hero nach MIA bei der Gegenseite landet um dort die "Wahrheit" zu erfahren, bei Run=Dim ist davon so ziemlich alles vertreten. Somit ist es nicht verwunderlich wenn man als aufmerksamer Zuschauer gewisser anderer Mecha-Serien den Verlauf der Story mehr oder weniger komplett voraus sehen kann, was zu gähnender Langweile und heftigem Motivationsschwund führt. Das anschauen dieses Machwerks kam einer Höllenqual gleich und ich stand mehrmals kurz davor alles hin zu schmeißen. Run=Dim lässt sogar "Platinumhugen Ordian" gut aussehen und DAS will was heißen... Es gibt wirklich etliche bessere Animes dieser Art, warum also seine Zeit mit Run=Dim verschwenden? Schlicht und ergreifend: Finger weg!

| For some odd reason, I have the urge to describe this series in two conflicting ways. I think it went too slow, yet I also think it went too fast. I really have no idea how to elaborate on that. The characters were a little lacking in the logical development department, but if they'd been much different, it wouldn't have been as good, I think. The animation is CG, as you've probably gathered from other reviews, but it's not as bad as they say. True, it's about as rudimentary as Reboot, but the lip syncing is really good. I liked the music. As for the story, I thought it was quite well done. The concept was original to a degree, and there were a few minor plot twists. I like twists; a story's not nearly as good if I can predict the end. One thing that had me going through most of the series was uncertainty. I was unsure as to who the "badguys" really were. My opinion in that matter changed a few times. It kept me on my toes, so there's another good point.
