| magical play was a good anime it is funny but i have seen funnier(azumanga daioh).
animation- the animation for the most part was nice and kawaii but the cgi was ok except on certain moments were it was very good . the characters had a nice character design such as paduu and the cat girl.the scenery was the same it was just average.
sound- i love the oppening it was so catchy and hilarious . the characters had nice voices especially padou and her fish sounded good when he screamed.
story- there is none for the most part it is just a show that makes you laugh and laugh until your on the floor .
characters- this is the best part of magical play the characters were nicely designed looked funny and had even funnier personalitys. padduu was well adorable (but not better than chiyo chan)the cat girl was kind of attractive and mustard and ketchup were clueless but funny.
enjoyment- i thought this show was very entertaining and funny but thats basically it if you want something funnier watch azumanga or genshiken even thoough this show is also very funny.

| Normally, stuff of the Magical Girl genre didn't appeal to me, so when I had the opportunity to watch this, I was hesitant at first, but then I gave in. I'm glad I did.
I enjoyed this, though I'm not sure why, and if you like stuff like Excel Saga, Pani Poni Dash, or Puni Puni Poemi, you should give this a shot. You won't regret it!

| I am not at all surprised this anime has such low ratings. Yes, it has nearly no story, and is a whacked out, (to me it was a crazy parody version of .hack//sign) and funfilled anime, but, isn't that the point? To have no story, and to be meant to make you laugh? Yes...! So that is why I have given this such a high score. Because it does what it is meant to do!
The characters are excellent, and Padudu, oh my goodness, is just so adorable. I love the opening theme. It is so cute, which is my weakness. And the animation is tops. Absolutely wonderful. Oh yeah and, don't lower any scores because it doesn't have a story. Is it SUPPOSED to have a story? No! Don't you think Azuma-Sama noticed that there was hardly any story in this anime?
I love all the character designs in this anime, especially Padudu. She's omega cute with her fish costume on, but I almost got a cavity when I saw her without it. Padudu is, I announce, the cutest anime character on the earth.
The sound in Mahou Yugi is sooo good. I love the opening theme. Pa-Du-Du-Pa-Pa-Du-Wa!

| Used computer graphic poorly. The story is still going so you have to watch for Magical Play 2-D but this ova is somewhat promising thou. If it wasn't all that crappy CGI I would like this much more. Hope they used real drawing in 2-D.

| I think this is an excellent, hilarious, and touching anime. This is on my top 5 list for sure. It is way underrated, and you should really see this anime for what it's meant to do. Make you laugh. There is NOT supposed to be a complex story, major character development, or some sort of romance. Actually there is only one boy in the whole thing. But this is a great anime, and if you like this, you must like cute, hilarious, funfilled episodes that you cannot turn away from. Bye the way, this is the wrong description... they are talking about the 3D version.
Animation- The animation is excellent. It is VERY clear, very cute, and very swift with its movements. I will admit that it beats Azumanga Daioh. Very, very good. It is flawless.
Sound- The opening theme is soooo cute, and the ending theme is very cute as well. Also there are tons of fun sound effects. However the English voice cast sucked. I watched it in Japanese with subtitles instead.
Story- The story is a funfilled no brainer. Just the type that I like. Very, very, very cute and whackie. Terrible ending. There was no final episode, you never found out what happened in the end.
Character- Character designs are adorable. This is what anime should look like. I just love Padudu and her fish Uichiki or something like that.
Value- I love to rewatch it. Translation sucked, and it isn't all that original.

| I really wanted to like Mahou Yugi. I really, really did. But this OAV/web series/TV show is just really sad and disappointing.
The characters are all either mean-spirited or dumb, the music is annoying, the story is non-existant, the comedy is forced, and the animation and art just aren't that impressive, save a few well-done 3D scenes.
Even if you love Kiyohiko Azuma, I'd suggest reading Azumanga Daioh or Yotsubato! instead of watching this.

| Well i bought this anime on a wimb but i have to say i really enjoyed it. Must admit took me awhile to find any reviews on it since i only new this anime as Magical play and not Mahou Yugi.
The animation in this series is very nice and there is alot of good humerous moments that most can enjoy. My only real problem if you can call it that is the series is just to short. Hell after 4 episodes thats it (Unless you count the extra 3d episode). You dont get to see Padudu's journey finish instead your just left wondering what happened.
Overall i very good anime to just pick up and watch that almost anyone can enjoy.

| Random comedy, and a parody of some sorts, from the creator of Azumanga Daioh. Not much of a story really, each of the mini-episodes is about 5 minute long and there never seemed to be any real continuality between them (unlike Azu). The characters are really funny though and make the OVA a worthwhile watch. Very high quality animation and good voice acting help seal the deal and cover up the lack of any real story. Want a comedy series that's just off-the-wall funny and nothing more? Watch this.

| This anime is a parody of sorts of magical girl anime. If you're a fan of that type of anime, you may like this one. If not, then you may still appreciate it for the comedy.
The anime is divided into several small segments. They aren't in any particular order, which is a bit distracting. Some of them are interesting, and I actually found myself enjoying them. Some of them are just annoying and I can't wait for them to end (fortunately, they are only 5 minutes or so long).
Some of the characters and story were actually quite enjoyable - Nonononn is quite a good character, with a little bit of a back story that is revealed as the episodes progress. Purulin is a decent character also. If the show had focused on their story and relationship, it would have been much better overall. I could have done without the other characters and although they were sometimes cute, usually they were just annoying.
I want to comment on the fact that this anime is available in the US by ADV. The info page does not state that. Do yourself a favor and watch it with subtitles. The ADV dub is horrible - one of the worst I've seen in a long time. Lately, their dubs have been getting much better (Abeneboshi / Azumanga Daioh) but this one is just plain aweful.

| If you love a good romp through a completely random land of magical mayhem, then...you're probably better off with Harry Potter (nah, only kidding *shivers* oo I feel so dirty)
Mahou Yuugi Is a great anime, good fun and nice and mindless (especially good after watching Full Metal Alchemist!)
Highly recommended, though the sotry is very difficult to follow, with all the episodes not really following each other in the timeline!
Similar to: Azumanga Daioh (Nononon = Sakaki with a big gun) ^_^
