| This is the 10th aniversary special of Dragon Ball.
Animation - The animation for 1996 was actually excellent. Very colorful scenery. No sketchy or deformed parts. The characters were also pretty detailed. This is the best animation I've seen for a 1996 and can compete with a lot of newer animation also.
Sound - The seiyuus were really good, the english cast was ok I think. The op anbd ending were average. Overal the sound was average.
Story - The Story starts just like in the series when Bulma rides in a vehicle, Goku throws it while shes in it. Goku gets shot They're off to the journey. But the way they meet end up getting the dragonballs is they stay all together and meet characters. I can describe it as Goku does the stuff he does in the series like defeat Red Ribon Army but has Bulma and OOlong with him.
Characters - The story really didn't go into detail at all with the characters. It seemed like you were suppose to already know them which you are if you're watching this.
Value - It's worth watching once. The subtitles on dvd are accurate. Just another regular anime dvd aniversary type.

| WoW this anime has no reviews yet. I better add mine before someone else gets the #1 spot before me!!
This Dragon Ball 10th Anniversary movie backtracks to the origin of the series, with apparently an "alternative take" on how Goku met up with his friends.
It was quite an enjoyable experience actually. Unlike most of the other DB movies that I've seen, this one actually has a story. Yea, you heard me right. The usual set up for DB movies is: first 5 minutes, they introduce some new villian out to take over the world. And then the rest of it is just a long drawn out battle between Goku and co with this villain, with the ever "unexpected" appearance of Picolo, who turns up just to save Gohan, then get beaten up. Whilst THIS movie actually has a story to tell - it's a proper adventure, albeit one with lots of time spent battling enemies. However the point is there IS story development here and not just a simple 5 minute set up to face up to the new, stronger than ever enemy. And this is what makes it so refreshing in comparison to the other DB movie. Though it's still a way from being good, I'd definitely give it a thumbs up for good effort. One of the more interesting DB movies.
One thing to watch out for though... this movie actually has a fair few fanservice scenes... highly inappropriate considering the audience being targetted. This is the main issue with the anime.
Edit: having watched the db movie "Curse of the Blood Rubies", I've decided to up the ratings for this slightly, to give credit to this for managing to do a good remake and being different from the original without loss of quality.
