| Due to the supposed “popularity” of the Impact Blue racing team, this two episode OAV was made, however like Impact Blue themselves, this is decidedly worse than the Takumi based arcs of the show. This should have been inserted into the Second Stage, not produced as a standalone piece.

| To tell you the truth I have no idea why was this OVA even created. It's two filler episodes, which pretty much don't have any impact neither on story neither on characters' developement. The first episode deals with LanEvos trying to conquer Usui mountain, even though those LanEvos aren't driven by Kyoichi or his best driver. Simply it tells the story of minor characters of Initial D First Stage battling some pathetic minors from Emperors team, which appeared in the Second Stage. The race is not as enjoyful as when Takumi drives the car, but it's still okay.
I don't get the second episode's point at all, basically it covered up Mako and Sayuki going skiing in the mountains, meeting Night Kids' drivers there. They tried to make some kind of lame romance there, though it was so boring it only succeeded in me getting sleepy. Unfortunately Iketani is nearly missing in this OVA. I'm losing faith in them ever resolving his and Mako's love story...
All in all, if you love car racing and in turn Initial D very much, then you will enjoy this. For me it was nothing else than a boring filler.

| This movie is based on the dynamic duo, Mako and Sayuki. Even though it's not entirely focused on the main concept of racing, we get to see a deeper side to Mako. I love her ^_^. Actually it's pretty amusing, because my best friend and I are quite a duo as well. She's blond and I'm the brunette, and our personalities reflect a bit much like the ones here. Anyway moving right along, I actually enjoyed the movie, and as the title suggets, it is an EXTRA stage aside from the rest of the stages.

| Eine Side-Story zur TV-Serie in der das Hauptaugenmerk auf Mako und Sayuki liegt und wohl hauptsächlich produziert wurde da diese 2 Figuren in der 2. Stage keinen einzigen Auftritt hatten. Inhaltlich kommt diese OVA etwas enttäuschend daher und gibt, was Races angeht, nicht viel her außer einem eher kurzen Rennen zwischen den Mädchen und einem Proll aus der Riege der Emperors. Zu einem gewissen Grad hatte ich zwar schon meinen Spaß dabei aber irgendwie ist es nicht dasselbe wenn Takumi nicht hinter dem Steuer sitzt. Ansonsten gibt es noch ein wenig Charakterentwicklung seitens Mako und man bekommt ein paar Einblicke in ihre Gefühlswelt. Ich hatte mir erhofft es ergibt sich, in dieser OVA, etwas bezüglich ihrer Beziehung zu Iketani aber am Ende steht in dieser Richtung nur fest was man längst weiss und zwar das sie immer noch an ihm hängt. So gesehen trägt Extra Stage eigentlich gar nichts zum Gesamtbild Inital Ds bei (außer das die Serie durch erstmaligen Fanservice ihre Unschuld verliert...) und auch ohne diese OVA gesehen zu haben bleibt man locker auf dem Laufenden. Wer von Initial D nicht genug bekommen kann wird sie sich trotzdem anschauen soviel ist sicher aber zuviel sollte man hier nicht erwarten.

| This OVA following the 2nd stage and coming just before the 3rd stage movie (special Takumi's 86 teaser at the end!) had even more graphic improvements on the cars. So from the 1st stage you get an improved Sileighty, and moreover a duo of Mako and Sayuki physically 10 times much more sexier (pooroo pooroo!)!! Of course let's not forget a bit more of the love story between Mako and Iketani.

| Very useless.... absolutely no plot development. I think its a cash cow for milking from fans of Initial D. It has nothing much to offer except one small drift race. Not even any development between Mako and Iketani's relationship from the Initial D TV Series. Other than the improved animation and some character development on Usui's greatest racers.. this anime has nothing else to offer.

| Doesnt offer to much new the formula, but other then that it's pretty good. The animation is very good compared to the First Season, and everything is well detailed. How much detail the put into each car is amazing! The music\sound in Extra Stage (All Stages actually...) were very good with a mix of eurobeat\techno\j-pop. Enjoyment is probably the highest aspect of this, and it will keep you entertained from the beginning to the end. The story is a little lacking, but other then that, it's quite good. Is you've seen the First and Second Stage (And liked them!), i highly recommend this.
