| This short OVA series is surprising in many ways. The writing is excellent, and as the series deals with idols the seiyu are all experienced and well cast. Music is a huge part of this series and helps push the whole story. The biggest problem with this series is that its so short.

| Für "Idol Project" zeichnen sich die gleichen Macher verantwortlich die auch hinter "Wildcardz" stecken und das merkt man direkt am völlig konfusen und hyperaktiven Storyverlauf der einem das Hirn durch den Fleischwolf dreht und vor völlig aus heiterem Himmel passierenden Vorkommnissen und Schwachsinn nur so strotzt. Zu Beginn scheint hier noch alles im Rahmen und es geht um ein junges Mädchen das ein Idol werden will und sich zu einem Casting aufmacht um ihrem Traum einen Schritt näher zu kommen. Aber schon wenige Minuten nach dem Start geht es auf einmal drunter und drüber und man weiß gar nicht mehr von einem der Kopf steht vor lauter Unsinn. Die Episoden werden immer durchgeknallter und vor allem immer nerviger. Hand und Fuß? Hat diese OVA nicht im geringsten und sie schafft es mit dem ganzen Tohuwabohu auch nicht im Stile eines "FLCL" zu unterhalten, da sie anstatt auf kreativem Schwachsinn ohne Sinn und Verstand auf nichts als Stupidität ohne Sinn und Verstand aufbaut. Der Cast ist zu keiner Zeit in der Lage das zu kompensieren, da er genau wie bei "Wildcardz" komplett aus Stereotypen besteht und obendrein auch noch extrem auf die Nerven zu gehen vermag. Die 5 Mädchen sind entweder dumm und nervig oder beides zusammen und die Figuren die sonst noch so auftreten halten entweder für Fanservice her oder sind genau so irritierend wie die im Mittelpunkt stehenden Charaktere. Irgendwann habe ich mich nur noch danach gesehen das der Ganze Mist endlich ein Ende hat! Fazit: "Idol Project" ist einfach nur beschränkter, kitschiger Hick Hack ohne Sinn und Konzept in jeder Hinsicht.

| Idol project is the story of Mimu, a wannabe idol. She has her big chance when the ultimate idol, a woman named Yuri, is retiring and gives a bunch of unknowns a shot. Mimu goes through a series of mishaps in her attempt to meet her idol and become one herself.

| Wh... wha... what just happened? Oh, man, my head hurts. Wha- I- but- oh man. It's like watching Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas with a headful of acid and all the band members of Pink Floyd ransacking your kitchen to the tune of the fat guy from Wings doing armpit-farts while Bil Keane croons out the theme from "Ducktails".

| Yeah, it looked kinda cheesy from the synopsis, but hey it was a lot of fun. I love how all the characters were true to themselves in helping the main character acheive her goal. Yeah, the characters, all great, especially Corvette (why does she say so many things in English?). Oh yeah, the music is like the best for industrialized Japanese pop music. Way too catchy. I should feel guilty for enjoying this show as I am, but I'm not. It's too good.
